Please excuse my ignorance ahead of time but whenever I hear a track that samples such a large and recognizable portion of the original song I always wonder why it isn't called what it really is: "Sylvester - Over And Over (Lucky Charmz Remix or Edit or Version)" for example? A person who has never heard of "Sylvester - Over And Over" may think that this is an original creation by Lucky Charmz, which it is not. I mean, I love this version, editing, chopping and rearranging and production are on point but to me this is more of a remix than anything else. I am a househead for life but my biggest problem with house music (and any other sample based genres) is the fact that there is absolutely no mention or credit to the original work, which is so easily recognizable...
+jivinivanhotmailcom because most of the sample-based masterpieces of the past were made totally illegally, and thanx to god some kind of censor in some ways let them have their life. And we still all love those masterpieces. Nowadays Soundcloud (f.ex.) destroys (and punish) all this new artists that used samples without permission. So the point is TO STEAL or NOT TO BE? :)
2:40 Hah perfect moment with the track / video... Awesome release I hope this gets a repressing. Love to have this record but its sold out / expensive everywhere I look!
Great track but personally I prefer what guti&dubshape did with the sample back in 2010. The track "Every cow has a bird" is a personal favourite and is well worth a listen.
Who else used this? I think it might have been on an MCDE mix. They have the same sample source and right after the beat comes back in a woman is singing "FREEDOMMMMM" in real high pitch. Who's version is that?
ER ZEIK He took the same sample, but other than that there's not much similarity. Guti's is way more chill and adds stuff in the higher frequencies (Rhodes lines and shit), while this here adds a funky ass bassline.
samples are over used in this kind of genre of music, in my opinion get crushed with a sample and then discover the original song links me stronger to the creativity of both artists, and in this way I can find masterpieces that I couldn t never hear by myself, because basically good music is dead nowadays, I heard this track at a lake party and I got completely stunned
great beat... video even better! ! movie even greater. .. M.J 's inspiration for smooth criminal.. so many dance moves emulated in Smooth criminal. . check it out

+jivinivanhotmailcom Well said. I think artists need to set a precedent for this.
+jivinivanhotmailcom Agreed
+jivinivanhotmailcom Get over yourself
+jivinivanhotmailcom because a lot of these songs were made in the underground at raves and shit

Sounds a bit like Guti - Every Cow Has A Bird
sounds exactly like that - must be same sample
he basically took "Every Cow Has A Bird" and added the lyrics from "Over and Over" by Sylvester
Zacarello Steve and every bird has a cow...
ER ZEIK He took the same sample, but other than that there's not much similarity.
Guti's is way more chill and adds stuff in the higher frequencies (Rhodes lines and shit), while this here adds a funky ass bassline.

Guti & Dubshape - Every Cow Has A Bird the track is a copy paste of this track of Guti and Dubshape. What a shame.
I'm not sure you understand the history of this song and the running joke when it comes to remixes of the original (fun fact this isn't the original)
love it
