I made your bandsawn Reindeers last year for our closest friends and they were a huge hit. These little elves look like the perfect follow-up gifts for this year's Christmas. Thank you for all these great ideas. I really like your style of teaching. Always fun!
Same here, I made 20 little reindeers out of single Wood Block and two larger ones with a black nose. Very cute. Very nice ideas Nick and lovely Videos
Kudos to Travis for that jig. As I progress in woodworking, I’m becoming more impressed not by what woodworkers final products are, but all the jigs they come up with to solve problems along the way!
That's the name of the game. When we were building aircraft, the jigs for any one airplane took up almost as much storage space as the airplane itself.
I bought the plans for these last week (after seeing your short on TH-cam or Instagram) and used them to pump out a few last minute additions to my craft fair inventory last weekend. The plans worked like a charm, cleared out a few of my scraps that had been kicking around the shop, and were the first item to be sold at the fair. They generated more than enough to cover the cost of the plans and my vendor fee. Thanks!
I loved everything about this. I still need some time to acquire a few more tools until i’m able to make fun projects like this in time for Christmas, but I’ll be ready for next year! I’m so glad I found this channel while I’m focusing on growing my woodworking skills. The way you explain the WHY of tip or instruction is exactly what I need. Thanks!
hi. new subscriber here. my last living grandfather died this month, and he was a woodworker. he was creative and artistic and just made you feel safe when you were around him. i just got those same feelings watching your video. ❤ and oddly enough, you look just like him! 😊 thank you for making such high quality content. please keep it up!
Me too. Before Travis came up with that idea, I was clamping the beads in a hand, sanding a flat, marking the hole with an awl, and losing every other bead when one of those steps went wrong. I'm thinking of nominating his jig for the Simple Solutions Hall of Fame.
I love it 😊 the imagination is the limit or if you’re imagination is limited buy the plan 😊 By the way you can adapt your design to the drums sander size you have 😊
I brought logs home to Columbus,Ohio from down trees from the property in West Virginia, I knew they wood make great reindeer, now I see these ,back to the band saw, time to make more sawdust.
Just be careful moving un-treated wood around like that. You might being a pest from WV home and kill your trees. (Basically all of our ash trees near me are doomed by borer)
These are so cool. Just purchased the set of plans for the tree, reindeer and sleigh right before this video came out. Looks like I need to get a set of plans for these elves. They are too cool. 😂
I don’t have OCD i have CDO, it’s the same as OCD just in alphabetical order as it should be. And why is it that i think i can hear Burl Ives in the background singing ugly bug ball, whenever i watch your channel?? Love the elves, I’ve got to have a go at that.
These are cute. I noticed shipping to be calculated. Does this mean the patterns are not downloadable? By the time I get them in the mail now it will be a little late I think.
I’m sure you already know or will soon find out that Poplar while it has that wonderful green color when it’s fresh cut will turn brown. The greener, the wood, the darker the brown. It won’t take very long for that to happen.
This is true of all of the woods we work with. As wood surfaces are exposed to oxygen and UV light, the lighter woods get darker and to darker woods go gray. But at least through Christmas, the poplar will be green and the padauk will be red.
You are not only a great wood cutter and carver but also an inspirational talented "instructor" with fatherly image.

Thanks for all your videos. I never had the opportunity to learn woodshop while growing up and you’ve been paramount to help me learn.

Your craftsmanship and ideas are definitely top shelf. I always look forward to seeing what you have in store for us next.
I won't be happy until this guy gets 1 million subscribers.
Me neither.
Subscribed, for both your happiness!
Man, I want this guy to be at every family event we ever have. Such a lovely vibe. Hard to even put into words.
Love the small bead hole drilling jig!

Wow Nick, ...awesome detailed video. I wish I had you in school for a teacher, I'd be learning and smiling at the same time....Thanks

I can see making them into a chess set

I feel like I'm watching Santa behind the scenes
That's not a pom! It's a dingleball! Everybody knows that!
Merry Xmas
Same back.
Loved your video, thank you. What make and model bandsaw are you using in the video. I have a benchtop skil that just doesn’t cut well. Dan
Looks great. What bandsaw blade company do you recommend for your shopsmith bandsaw? Thanks 😊
I use Timber Wolf for intricate work, Starrett for general work and resawing.
These are cute. I noticed shipping to be calculated. Does this mean the patterns are not downloadable? By the time I get them in the mail now it will be a little late I think.
They're downloadable, I think Shopify always includes that bit about shipping even on digital products. -Travis
Amazing 🤩
That is so amazing! I'll order the plans. How's Bella?
I had to buy these plans, absolutely adorable figures! Great content as usual, thank you!
Moist welcome. Merry Christmas.
Awww, cute puppy! What's his/her name?
Love the project. I know what to do for secret Santa!
We all know he didn’t need to make a Santa, he doesn’t need to (because he is Santa)
Watch out for squatchee!
Nick you’re the cute one. Omg so handsome

Well, I think I know how to use the container of maple and purpleheart scraps I have been holding on to
I wish i have garage, tools and someone to teach me
