Hameediyah Restaurant, Penang - Famous & Fabulous Nasi Kandar

Hameediyah is just a small stall under a field at Lebuh Campbell back in 1907. It was a humble beginning and now Hameediyah Restuarant is one of the fabulous landmarks of nasi kandar that is not to be missed in Penang. Hameediyah founder Mohamed Thamby was started to sell Nasi Kandar with his knowledge of spices and tips from family members had made the success story and these recipes are still used in the curries of Hameediyah today. The journey that going through 115 years is not easy, they have been through the British colonization, and Japanese occupation until now.
Hameediyah Restaurant is famous for its signature curries, kurmas, Kapitan, murtabak, nasi biryani, rendang, mee goreng, and other dishes. The recent Sotong Viral (The Viral Squid) is also one of the factors that make diners dashing from around the globe to this restaurant. With all the nice and delicious recipes intact with nice service and cozy ambiance. Hameediyah Restaurant is one of the Nasi Kandar places to visit in Penang.

I remember when I first ordered my food and asked for the price to pay, the staff told not to worry and pay after eating. Big mistake. Really paid through my nose. No choice got scammed. Never trust them.

The total cost for 3 Nasi kandar and Nasi briyani with sotong viral and sotong egg RM129.80. For me I prefer to go during Ramadhan cause no need to queue for so long
