Ford had a concept Mustang in the 60's looked a lot like that S197. They only captured the true Mustang from 05 to 09.... Exactly why I had to get one. Love it!.....
The 05-09 Are the years I don’t like. I don’t like the typical looking Mustang I liked it when they tried to change it up and looked more mean it was lighter etc.
From 05 through today the best selling year is 06, look it up. The 05-09 was crazy popular when they hit with that retro modern design that also triggered Chevy and dodge to get back in the game. Plus the sales of the early S197 paved the way for the reintroduction of the 5.0.
I have an '06 gt, it was a gift from my wife while I was deployed. I know it ain't the fastest pony there is, but it gets my adrenaline going every now and then! Intake, LT's, o/r H, full catback, tune from 5star and husrt short shifter.
The 05-09 was such a huge jump forward in Mustang design. It’s appearance harkened back to the original idea of what a Mustang was and should be and the chassis was as much of a jump forward in handling. Game changing car.

nah, it's better. no matter what mods you do, it'll always breathe better and take less to make the power. termi engine is by far the best 4.6 ever built, and the high compression 03/04 mach 1 "R code" engine is the best N/A 4.6. 3v is a good value though yeah.
kingcrimson234 it's a good value because they are cheap compared to all 4.6's for what you get. Buddy of mine hit high 10's in his shelby. He is selling his engine now to upgrade and go faster. Just the price alone of the gt500, I could be in the 8's
The Mach 1 is a 4 valve trey gotti and should have won that race. But I'm guessing he couldn't drive for s*** or from what it looks and sounds like the other car was not stock

mambastang is that really all thats done to it? my 08 3v 5 speed has pulleys, off road h, muffler deletes, and 3.73 gears and runs over 3 seconds higher than yours. obviously those slicks and skinnies make a huge difference but still... a mid 10 second 3v I find hard to believe has just those mods. what size wheels and tires? kinda wanna run the same setup on mine.

That Mach 1 has got to be the most overrated Mustang... It made 300hp stock yet people talk about it like it's a Cobra... The outcome of this race was not surprising at all... Reading the comments that 3v that makes 315hp shouldn't have stood a chance...
Sorry bud, but Mach 1s were underrated from the factory to avoid customer outrage. They made around 335 at the crank give or take, and with a steeper gear ratio, lighter overall weight, and better brakes/suspension the Mach 1 is a better car. And people don't talk about them like they're cobras bro, because they're better than all the Cobra models besides the Terminator.

So what are your upgrades exactly if you aren't spraying to get a 3v in the 10's? It sure isn't just LTH's, O/R X and AxleBacks as stated above. I know tracks, elevation and all that have a part to play but even in perfect conditions with just those 3 mods I can't see even hitting 11's from a stock mid-high 13 second car. I'm not denying the awesomeness of your car, but as a fellow 3v owner with those 3 mods plus literally every other bolt on possible, I can't see a 10.5 without crazy weight reduction.

Also, the interior is significantly nicer. The biggest interior jump by far was the 05 model.

They are both known quantities and Google is a big help. Professionally tested versions of each shoe the 3v to be faster.

The 3-v motor in all cubic inch displacement was a piece of junk I know most of the time the cam phasers blew the engine up or it dropped a cylinder.

you are correct I am not spraying. I run 10.51 126 mph 1.39 60 foot if I add spray say a small 100 shot I feel I might break into the high 9.90s
