Ever since that Invincible episode that pointed out animation shortcuts, that's all I can think about when a character covers their mouth. The whole time Rogue had Cap's shield in front of her face I couldn't help laughing
Every episode is so good! Building and expanding the X-Men universe! I loved the Strong Guy cameo! Cap and Nimrod making appearances was stunning! I think we might even get Hope Summers!!🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
Nice shoutout for Ross Marquand. I came across Ross through his TH-cam channel a long time back well before he was cast on The Walking Dead and people knew who he was - so far back he had less than 1,000 subscribers on his Twitter account at the time. In addition to him doing all of his amazing impressions on his TH-cam channel, he also had an acting reel up on there, and it was immediately obvious from that he was also just a very good actor in general. I remember thinking it would be a shame if he never ended up doing anything significant in Hollywood, so I'm glad to see his successes. I've met and chatted with him a couple of times over the years, and he is just a really down-to-earth, humble, good dude.
Not a lot of people are talking about Scott losing just as much as Rogue. Rogue seems to be getting her anger out but Scott could be turning into a tikin time bomb. Scott lost his family, his relationship with Jean, his teammates and he seems to be holding it all in.
The scene with Rogue being comforted by Nightcrawler and the rest of the X-Men actually brought a tear to my eye. The writing on this series has been phenomenal. Every episode has been five stars, except the somewhat silly game show host episode... Now we have the three-part finale starting next week!
I think it's pretty cool that the same voice actor for Cap in "What If?", is the same voice actor for Cap in "X-MEN 97". I know that he's not doing the same voice, but I think it's cool that it's the same guy.
Yeah, where the heck was Storm in this episode?? I didn't even think about her when I was watching this earlier, but there's no reason she couldn't get there by the funeral
Really depends on the timing of that last episode with the TV reveal for Storm. It may have been an announcement from Genosha that happened this episode

@@foof76 The news report was talking about how countries were refusing reentry to mutants, which to me sounds like something that would take at least a few days if not a week or more to play out. It's tough to know for sure but it feels to me like Storm learned about Genosha pretty late in the game.

The report Storm saw after regaining powers was talking about global nations refusing to take on refugees, which could be anywhere from day-of to several weeks out from the event just due to how international relations happen. Could definitely have been more definitive in the writing.
Ross basically called Rogue trailer trash from Mississippi and she was never ever that as he soon found out. It is interesting that 2 of the kindest and honest characters in Marvel would be blue furballs and thought of as animals. Their strength of character can not be questioned.
Avengers, Spiderman, Hulk, Fantastic four made a point of not getting involved with Mutant affairs. In the 90's the Bloodties cross over was so polite and bland towards how the Avengers go out of their way not to get involved in mutant affairs, and then the Onslaught story was like "We know how mutants feel because we have had 20 mins of sentinels being rude to us" 🙄 Operation Zero Tolerance.
The fact that Rogue has gone over the line and attacked a US military base the Avengers maybe sent to arrest her. She is the one that is trying to spark a Avengers vs X-men.
I mean the real reason was because editorial doesn’t like much crossover with the property unless one the writer is doing double duty with characters but the in universe reason they all really are busy dealing with their life by government bureaucracy or their enemies making their life harder

I haven’t been very invested in the Roberto storyline, but the scene with his mom really hit hard for me. I’m bi and had pretty much the same experience when I came out to my mom except instead of shareholders it was hiding it from the rest of the family. This show isn’t shy with the social commentary and they do it in a way that isn’t cringey (like a lot of movies/shows) and actually resonates.
My guess on what will happen episodically through this season to the next one. Theory below I believe that season one will deal with Bastion/Nimrod and season two will be an Apocalypse storyline with Gambit as the horseman of death. And season 3 will perhaps be an Avengers vs X-Men storyline with Hope and the Phoenix returning.
Anyone can be converted into a Sentinel Prime and they don’t even know it until activated, a lot of them volunteered but got mind wiped and some in the comics were forced into the conversion.
Oh shit talking about turning mutants into sentinels you made me realize that might be how they bring Gambit back as death 😰 oh god that will be horrifying
I look at it as having variety. You go to Spider-Man for really intricate personal stories about a lone hero, Iron Man and Avengers for bombast and large scale, universe changing events, and X-Men for art 😂😂😂😂
I have watched numerous reactions to this episode and no one notices DOCTOR DOOM when Rogue is doing her interrogation! She sees a couple of faces and the last one - only on screen for a few frames - is unmistakenly Doctor Doom. In the video above, pause it at 5:47 and then use "." to step through the video frame by frame. Shortly after it clicks over to 5:48 you can very plainly see that's who it is. This is HUGE!

But you're probably right. The timeline of events is kind of bugging me. Storm sees the Genosha thing on TV, and hasn't contacted the X-Men yet? Even though the X-Men are traveling all over the world (Genosha to Hulk base to Madripoor etc.)? I was really hoping to see more of Storm, but nope. I'd rather her story than Jubes/Berto. They're really doing her dirty for this. Otherwise, this was good. Lots of drama.
You don't seem to "get it." Where were the Avengers during the Genoshan Genocide? Isn't an army of giant killer robots right up Ironman's alley? Where are they now? Cap was the one who "stood with" mutants, but he didn't fight the Mutant registration act. Cap needs the "ok" to lead his team across national boarders? Who do you think the boss of America's "Top Cop"? Tony is an arms dealer who's biggest client, Cap's boss, FUNDED the Sentinel Program, and it's revival. The Avengers aren't doing much 'Venging of this Genocide.

You can see how protective Wolverine is of Morph with that "Morph, no!" when he gets blasted in the face.
Morph luvs Logan, and though Wolvie only has eyes for Jean, and doesn't exactly reciprocate Morph's feeling, he cares about Morph an awful lot.
This episode still proves this is the best animated show out there!
