Awesome! I was thinking about you earlier. Wondering if you'd eventually review some of the Amityville movies. Most sucked but Amityville II: The Possession was really scary and still holds up. Would love your take on it. Anyway, thanks for the videos as always man.
I remember when this premiered in 1991. I was 10. It was my intro into the franchise. I remember the promo ad with the anticipation of wondering "who was holding the knives walking toward the baby carriage in the bedroom". It was like the cover of an 80s Stephen King novel that made you want to buy the book. I never found out at the time because I was too freaked out to finish the premiere. As a kid I was disturbed. And remembered what I watched in grave detail
I heard the original title for The First Omen was The Jackal. I also heard a theory that the woman thinks(and maybe the others too)she will birth a human and its a jackal and that will give birth to damien. As crazy a that is it saves that plot hole and he is still born of a jackal.
I'm kind of excited that I've found you this early in your journey, like getting in on the ground floor. Very cool. The sound design of this movie is like it was done for an Italian film...a decade earlier. And I'll give this to Delia, crystal mommies are scary.
You've succeeded in making a review of a movie that is infinitely superior to the movie itself! Of course, that's not much of a bar to clear is it? It's truly atrocious. The only moment I liked was seeing the wrecking ball reflected in Michael Lerner's eye before it hits him. The moment where the demonic choir shows up singing the bit of Jerry Goldsmith's previous score might be the worst moment in cinema history. Really, it's atrocious. Much worse than the horribly bad Exorcist 2, I agree. Though it seems The First Omen is going to change existing lore about Damien's jackal birth, it can't be worse than this one, can it?
I've binged a ton of your videos today after subbing. I think you're incredibly well-spoken and very inciteful, not to mention quite charitable to some movies that are clunkers. Your real gift is comedy. This video had me fucking cackling. Awesome job, dude.
How is this man's satirical apology going to be better than both any apology I've seen from a youtuber and any sincere apology I've ever gotten in my real life 😹 Fantastic intro.
You should read Omen IV Armageddon 2000 by Gordon McGill its a good book and starts were the last film ended and then Omen V also by Gordon McGill, Good books if you like the franchise.😈
All is good. No rational person would have thought any horror sequel could be worse then EX ll. As putrid as this film appears, EX ll is the still the champ concerning a severity of quality drop-off between sequels.
There is a novel of what was supposed ro be a fourth film titled Omen IV: Armageddon 2000 published in 1982, 9 years before this crap. It is a true continuation of the series, with Paul from Damien Omen Ii and Damien's son, whose mother was the tv hostess from Final Conflict. It is not a great novel but it feels more like an Omen story than this. And there is a fifth novel titled The Abomination.
I wish for this movie even if they wanted to change the character of Damiens child and focus on a little girl they should have included the backstory. If the movie focused on the discovery of damien being her father and what he was plus the truly horrific birth circumstance of damien child as seen in the novel this movie would have been better. Plus replace that lame whimsical music that belongs in cartoons.
It's not your fault. It's not your fault. It's not your fault. 😅😅😅 Hey, Evan! I'm surprised you think Omen IV is worse than Exorcist II which I actually like! LOL! I agree with everything you said about Omen IV. About the upcoming prequel, I was saddened when I heard that they were gonna do away with the "Damien was born of a jackal" plot twist from the first movie and just have Damien born from the woman you see in the trailer. Well, I am looking forward to seeing your review of the 2006 remake and also the prequel! Take care! 😊
I’m curious to see if they actually are doing away with it. I know the trailers look like they are, but I’d honestly be surprised if the movie actually changed that
Liking your style! This was pure Lifetime movie trash indeed. The two novels by Gordon McGill carry on the Damien story (revelations/nuclear war) and are pretty good - would have made a much better movie than this utter crap.
I don’t doubt that Oman for is a bad movie… I just struggle with anything being so spectacularly and aggressively and comprehensively, as awful as Exorcist 2. It comes across as experimental cinema. How bad can you make a movie without people realising you’re doing it on purpose? Exorcist 2 isn’t a movie with some terminally poor choices, it’s awful in a cohesive way. Everything from acting to plot to dialogue to sets to character development to cuts to sets to treatment of Exorcist 1 are just terrible. It took thought to be that bad and the studios will have seen the dailys. It’s an ode to awful.
9:05 Actually, babies can and will scratch you/themselves if you don't keep their nails clipped(which they hate). Combined with then touching random shit, crawling on floors, and slurping on their hands, you could totally get an infection! It's great! They also bite, and it only gets worse when the teeth come in!
Fairly new to the channel, but keep up the good work man. Funny intro, nice to see your confidence on the up as well - really getting to grips with this YT stuff! looking forward to sinister 2 vid 💯
Omen 4 wasn't terribly awful for what it was. It has a creepiness level that you don't see in part 4s of anything. Esp a 9 year old pregnant with her own brother, the antichrist. But nothing will ever be as bad as exorcist 2. I remember seeing it in the theatre and how pissed off everyone was that it was such a pos.
There was a fourth Omen film planned and slated for a 1984 release to be titled Omen IV: Armageddon based on the novel Omen IV: Armageddon 2000 (in which this film is not based on) which was written by Gordon McGill who wrote the novelisation of The Final Conflict. Graham Baker who directed The Final Conflict was to return but eventually for some reason was no longer available and they did have another director lined up but he passed away and the film was shelved. Damien Omen II writer Stanley Mann was also to return. Yes, this film is dreadful and was suppose to be the first of a new trilogy. As an Omen fan I pretend this film doesn't even exist.
I forgot about this movie!! Hahahahaha! It was terrible. It's too bad that it has to be part of a great franchise like The Omen (I don't include the remake). The Final Conflict was ok but I actually like Damien: Omen II. Some great kills, a strong cast and genuine scares. Man, I loved the 70s!!
I remember this being a straight to cable movie, so this makes a lot of sense when you compare it to straight to DVD movies and made for Netflix movies. It's lack of quality is evident, but this was not a movie with a big budget unlike the previous theatrical movies
Exorcist 2 question - at the very, very end after Reagan and the priest walk away a white light starts flashing on the psychiatrist's face in the same pattern as the hypnotism machine. As it does her face goes blank before the movie ends. Could it be that everything after that session where the psychatirst almost died is either still Reagan's dream or worse that she died. Because I don't mind Exorcist 2 - it tried to do something interesting about Satan trying to stop the evolution thst that priest talked about. But if nothing after that session was real that really sucks! We have no idea what happened to Reagan or anyone else after that! Plus the priest going to Africa, becoming a heretic...so was that Reagan's dream, the psychiatrist's dream or all BS? None of that involved either character. It could explain the stuff like walking on nails and ending up in the lab - dream logic. Interested in what you think.
Did you know that this was released theatrically in Australia? I still remember going to theatre when I was 11 and seeing a poster for it. I was just getting into horror and I was like, "Omen IV? I better check out the others!"
Both films are undermined I actually think both films are just ok but not brilliant ive saw much worse films than these two, i would give the both a 2 out of 5.
Dude, this is so well done. I have watched several of your Omen reviews today, and hadn't heard of you/Rocklin Graves before today. Very much enjoy your insights.
I would surmise that your review of this movie was darn accurate. It was so bad, that all I remember was seeing a movie called "Omen IV." That was it. I don't remember a single scene from this movie. In fact, when I try to remember, I ended up thinking of Psycho IV. And the only reason for that is because at least Psycho IV had something to remember, if not a lot.
Ironically, you having watched this horrendous movie is kind of Christ-like. You sacrificed yourself to save us. I think we all owe you praise for that. BTW, is there a sequel to that one ?
As awful as the movie, as a whole, was, I don’t mind saying that *Asia Vieira* was _superb_ as Delia, and it’s a crying shame that they shoehorned in the unborn male twin/baby plot-twist, rather than sticking with the _"the _*_Antichrist_*_ is now a girl"_ idea! You should give very serious consideration to watching the sadly far too short-lived _'Damien'_ series (which ignores everything after the first/original movie), as well as reading _'Omen IV: Armageddon 2000'_ & _'Omen V: Abomination'_ (both of which were written by *Gordon McGill,* and both of which ignore this fourth movie, telling their own sequel story following the end of the original trilogy).
I may be one of the few people on earth who actually read The Abomination - the source material for this travesty. AND - I also read Alexander's story as well in the novella for Omen V (It CAN get worse, trust me). Bought them at a used bookstore in the 90s for a buck along with a copy of the Roman Ritual and a Sunday Missel - I was into learning about religion in those days. Anyway, in the Abomination, the backstory was just SLIGHTLY more plausible. Yes, Dalia was Damien's daughter. Conceived on the night in Damien and the woman reporter had sex that was rather - bestial - that scene in the Final Conflict. You learn from the cult in the story that Dalia was a contingency plan. Just in case Damien did die before his purpose was done. Cause the actual back story was taken from the Bible. That the verse "A day is as a thousand years and a thousand years is as a day to the Lord" in the Old Testament really meant that the Millennial reign of Christ on the earth that we see at the end of the Final Conflict was actually one day long, not 1000 years. So what we saw at the end of the Final Conflict was it, and the world never knew anything etc. Dalia was the beginning of the time in Revelation after the millennium of Jesus (one day) when Satan would be loosed for a "little season" before the end, and Dalia was essentially the False Prophet, an Abomination, sent to pave the way for the little season. Dalia basically did not have a soul (and she was written that way for sure.) so that she could be directed however the cult wanted. That is why she is sent to "prepare the way" for Alexander (like John the Baptist did for Jesus). That morphed into what was on screen. It was by far the worst piece that as taken to screen I have ever read, so the movie at least reflects the written work. But, It was BAD.
I would hardly call it a good entry in this series, but I had no problem with the film's explanation of how the pregnancy came about. The first film already went with the absurd notion that the child was the spawn of a jackal (probably my biggest gripe with that whole film), so The Awakening's premise felt less ridiculous by comparison. But this is the only point where I'd say that Omen IV sorta manages to improve on the 1976 classic, and that's a major issue considering that the fourth entry is otherwise content to be a cheap, low-stakes remake of that first film. While I do like Asia Vieira as Delia, she's both slightly too old to work as a creepy child and slightly too young to exhibit the agency seen by Damien in the first sequel.
Exorcist 2 is a masterpiece next to this "interesting film". Btw, went to Late Night with the Devil advanced screening last night. Can't wait to see your review.
LOL, Epic intro, Ive been watching your vids tonight and you have a new subscriber. My wife of 30 years told me today she had not watched Omen....... I was sure we had many times. So I thought, lets watch some youtube reviews before watching the classics and now the new one. Your channel popped up. I agree with all your reviews on these movies. Keep this content up mate. Peace from Scotland
I will say I do like Omen 4, it's a huge fall from how great The Final Conflict was but considering it had a terrible time being made (by two directors) & was made for direct to TV it managed to make some sense. I am also a fan of Exorcist 2 because it did try something new but I get the hate for that film. I do like the twist even if the whole film's existence makes no sense. At the end of The Final Conflict, the Christ child was reborn, so you are led to believe the resurrection happened and evil was defeated. But my guess is the Christ child was born but still had to grow up in a human body like before and Damian's comment of "You have won, nothing" was because he knew the reporter he was sleeping with was pregnant. I'll agree with the criticism of the music, a huge step down from the Goldsmith music. But let's be real Goldsmith would never score a TV movie, at least not at this stage of his career. The addition of other religions is actually an idea I'd love to see explored more, it was horribly executed here but there is more than one religion and it'd be really intriguing to see a story where the devil or devil's child is confronted with different religions beliefs and how it affects it.
Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah......this movie be bad....sorry you had to watch it...but think of the good that has come out of this. You have watched this baby filled dumpster fire and told the world of it so that others will not have to....unless they've already seen it (like myself, still happy to own the Scream Factory set as it's beautiful). Aaaaaaaaand......it doesn't get much worse than this. Movie be horribad. Cheers my dude!
I'm showing my age but I remember when this came out.😳 I only saw it on VHS but yeah, this was a pretty hideous movie. I just chalk it up to it being a made for tv movie so no budget for anything.🤷
I disagree with this guy's perspective of the awakening omen 4 The Awakening omen 4 is 1 of the best movie parts compared to all omen movie parts 👎I'm not talking about if the awakening is worse than the Exercist Just comparing all omen movies which I'm saying the awakening omen 4 is 1 of the best omen movies And i love the idea of having a female anti Christ Anyways thanks for sharing video
I dislike the excorcist 2 more as the o.g exorcist was such a classic that the drop off to the heretic was so grating. The omen is only ok as a movie and the sequels get worse and worse. I had some good times with 4 as a kid but never enjoyed the heretic
I just thought it was a very mediocre film, watchable but not as bad as the ghastly Exorcist 2. They should have stopped after Omen 2, Omen 3 saw a massive drop in quality and that should have been warning enough to stop then. Omen 4 is a bit of a dull film, bland plot, haphazard directing and wooden acting and it doesnt have the atmosphere of 1 and 2.
Anhedonia is a common reaction to subjecting oneself to "The Omen IV: The Awakening". Just have courage, you'll come back from this. Stay strong!
Thank you….. I hope you’re right
anhedonia is my middle name! lol
Incredible intro, dude. 😂 Just recently started watching your stuff, and I’m hooked! High quality work!
Haha thanks man! Appreciate it

10/10 intro & review! After watching this I'm happy I skipped the 4th omen after lol
To be fair, I get pissed at healing crystals and ppl who believe in that gobbledygook too lol
The high quality intro 😂😂

Always joy of Exorcist the unbearable. Totally makes Boormans effort oscar winner. As for omen 4 truly dire.
WOW! A "based on your respected opinion" WOW! Never thought I would hear that phrase. Will watch during lunch.

Maybe the woman sires the jackal that gives birth to damien. All involved in the plot though assumed she would birth a human

Jesus what a drop in quality from the first three movies.

Gordon Ramsay level roasting of Omen IV 😂
Worse than The Heretic?! Now I know I have to watch this😊
I remember this being a straight to cable movie, so this makes a lot of sense when you compare it to straight to DVD movies and made for Netflix movies.

Interested in what you think.
You scared me for a min with that intro😂😂😂
Did you know that this was released theatrically in Australia? I still remember going to theatre when I was 11 and seeing a poster for it. I was just getting into horror and I was like, "Omen IV? I better check out the others!"

Thank you!
The intro alone has earned a subscription from me...a pittance of a reward for your stall are work sir.
Haha thank you!
I seriously hadn't ever heard of this until your series.
Loving the over the top drama 😂 thank you needed that laugh!❤
Ironically, you having watched this horrendous movie is kind of Christ-like. You sacrificed yourself to save us.
I think we all owe you praise for that.
BTW, is there a sequel to that one ?
Best intro ever!!!!!
I think its only defense was it was only a TV movie. I have watched it once, and thats enough, the first three are gold as a trilogy
Exorcist 2 deserved NO apology.
I disagree Nothing is worse than Exorcist 2 The Heretic. Omen IV isn't that awful to me i find it quite amusing for all the wrong reasons 😂
I'm two minutes in and dying of laughter 😂
You are right, The Omen didn't need any sequels.
Nice review. The title says Omen 6 though.
HOLY SHIT THANK YOU LMAO
Fixed…..
I'm about to watch the Omen IV...
Your intro has terrified me.
I'll let you all know how it goes once it's over
Ya it's shockingly terrible. It's so bad that some parts of it are ingrained into my head while other parts of it I have forgotten completely
wasn't Delia Damien's daughter from his one night "moment" with the reporter kate in omen 3?!!
Now that I've seen The First Omen, that twin scenario doesn't seem too off. What if they included ideas from this Omen into the prequel?
Exorcist 2 is a masterpiece next to this "interesting film". Btw, went to Late Night with the Devil advanced screening last night. Can't wait to see your review.
So, it’s a sequel so bad it made you go . . . Oh Man 🤦♂️

Exorcist 2 was way worse
I feel like you should review The Bad Seed from 1956 as a pallet cleanser for this
"Spiritually painful to watch."
And I laughed and laughed!
Ghost face also can’t bare the thought of this film. Bro just has severe trauma and is trying to recollect his mind.
I recently stumbled onto your channel and subscribed. I love the passion and thoughts behind the reviews. Keep up the good work!
Didn’t even know there was an Omen 4
I will say I do like Omen 4, it's a huge fall from how great The Final Conflict was but considering it had a terrible time being made (by two directors) & was made for direct to TV it managed to make some sense.

This is the best video yet!!!
Thank you!
so what you're saying omen 4 is truly ... diabolical?
I had no idea.
Best intro ever. And yeah, it's a bloody awful film. I watched it 30 years ago - it was pish then it's even pisher now.
It is an awful movie, but I also kind of love it.
The thing is that this movie got released on theaters in Europe.
"I miss Robert Thorn, man."🤣
Saw you on my brothers channel, just subbed, can't wait to check your stuff out!
It’s okay. At one time I thought there were worse movies…. Until I saw Omen 4
Did you do your own piano work for this?
This was pretty hilarious and spot on too
I'm showing my age but I remember when this came out.😳 I only saw it on VHS but yeah, this was a pretty hideous movie. I just chalk it up to it being a made for tv movie so no budget for anything.🤷
As punishment you have to watch Nightmare on Elm Street produced by Micheal Bay(idk that's the worst horror movie I could think of)
I would rather watch that
@@RocklinGraves Ouch🤕
But it does qualify as a Christmas movie.
The only thing this movie has going is the immaculate autumnal vibes going on.
Ooo, I’m in if it has autumnal vibes 🥲
@@spookylittlebat the story is still awful like he said, but it just reminded me of being a kid in the 90s around Halloween for some reason
@@loriisgorey Like Casper 😌
oh yeah? Wait till u watch Troll 2 and u will be sorry even more
Hello Evaaaaaaaaan boyyyyy
I am so buying this for my collection >_
I concur sir 🤩
This movie is horrible! I only watched it because it came with a boxed set I bought. So bad!
Thanks
Thank you Eric! I really appreciate it
There is no war in Ba Sing Se & there is no Omen 4.
Another banger
Why waste time acknowledging this movie? It disgraces the memory of the original.
First Omen kinda has bits of 4 in it.
Omen 3 was bad enough
Oman IV cr....
Great video, but what's with all the F bombs? Seems unbecoming and unnecessary.
Deal with it. This isn't 1950s Mayberry, and you aren't Aunt Bea. It's just a word.
