When you hang art on your walls cut a “V” on the paper and flip it up. Then place your nail or hanging hardware there. When you want to remove your art you just take off the hardware and flip the paper down and you’ll never know there is a hole there. And you don’t damage the paper.
HEADS UP: To anyone watching this video and getting inspired to try wallpapering for the first time, DON'T precut a bunch of pieces. Drew knows what he is doing and figured out the repeat of the pattern. If you've never wallpapered before and your pattern has a repeat, do a few pieces one at a time until you figure out the repeat. Otherwise you could waste on ton of wallpaper not realizing how the repeat works on your specific pattern.
I had a neighbor who painted and papered her young daughter's room then bought endless amounts of the kind of white eyelet lace that you thread a narrower colored ribbon through. She bought endless amounts of pink ribbon and spent endless hours threading it through the lace. Then she did this with it. And she added a wallpaper border at chair rail height and placed a line of the eyelet on each side of the border all around the room. This was about 25 years ago. Same basic idea, but frou-frou for a little girl's princessy room.
There was a designer on Trading Spaces who used to do the piping on walls and it always looked so lovely! I am totally eyeing my walls but I don’t have any wallpaper in my house so I’m not sure it would work for me but I loooooove granny chic! And it’s so nice to see such a gorgeous color in this room, YAY! Winston is absolutely adorable!
Happy doggy daddy day don’t let the negative people take this day away from you Winnie is beautiful and there is room for all in this world! Enjoy you pup he is precious
huh....'take this day away from you'...'room for all in this world." WHAT in the world are you talking about? anyone following Drew adores both him and gorgeous pup Winston. So, what are you even talking about? You're the only one making some differential here when it doesn't even exist. SMH
Love the uniqueness of the black cord! Your viewers voting for the green wallpaper may signify the need for color in your home, not just neutrals. This room looks like it may be as stunning as your red hallway. I’m excited to see this room finished! ❤
I actually love the green paint colour. When you first started painting the window I was like "Oh no it's so bright" but it really dried down to the perfect shade!
There were a couple shots where the door was open and you saw the red from the hall against the green. It looks soooo good. Your place is coming along so well. The choices you are making feel so timeless and honouring of the home.
I actually love the black piping. It gives the room a different twist and helps to accent the coved ceilings. Also, that light fixture is gorgeous. Love, love, love the amber glass shades.
Very Granny Chic, as usual. And before somebody feels the need to think I’m hating, it’s not shade, that’s just what I call his decor style. Looks good! Very vintage and eclectic. 💚
Your sale must be doing great! It’s 8:30 PST and there are only 20 different items left! This soft look from you is a departure from the rest of your home but I find myself actually loving it! The black piping was a definite surprise. At first I said, “What?” After you applied it,”He always comes up with that one thing that makes the room uniquely his”. I’m sure for the people not all in yet will come around after you bring in the furniture and decor because those will be a reflection of your style. I’m love that you broke away from what you did in the rest ;of the house. It shows the world that you aren’t a “One trick Pony”. So many of us following you are so proud of what you are accomplishing at such a young age in this competitive world you work in. You have such a fresh open mind and don’t follow what the rest of the trend makers are doing. Watching you is such a refreshing breath in this crazy time. Keep doing YOU! ( Thanks for highlighting Winston a little bit more, I’m sure it’s not easy since he is a little pudgy floor pup but too adorable for words)
The sequence for me went: Nice warm. farmhouse look. Love the light fixture (rare for me) Piping, wow, a touch of sophistication. Eastlake dresser, gorgeous. "Trust me" How could we not? How could we not trust a creative genius?
You’re a genius! I love it! The black tiny rope is perfect 0:10 ! tAnd the chest of drawers reminds me of my beloved granny’s bedroom! If I were you I’d be my own guest once in a while and sleep there just for fun! So cosy and warm!
Love the wallpaper!! You picked the perfect ceiling color too!! I thought you were crazy adding the black cording…but it looks so good!! Happy dog day Father’s Day Drew!!🥰
Hello, can you say innovation?! The small detail of the piping is giving so much inspiration and versatility. I can think of so many different applications! I love it 🥰
I wanted to use a grasscloth wallpaper in our current living room but not over-enthusiastic seeing that it has to be glued....!! It was in our house when I was a teenager so I kinda was nostalgic about it.
This might end up being my favorite room. Green is my favorite color in a home. My style is also very granny-chic, cottagey so this is totally my vibe.
Count on Drew to introduce us to decorating innovations. I've never heard or seen that cording detail and it's quite interesting. I look forward to next week's video to see it added to the cove trim. You are a beast when it comes to trying new concepts. So fearless.
Back around 1992 my husband and I repapered our bath, at the time large garden flowers were the trend so to hide the seam where paper met the tile we hot glued a twisted rayon rope like the one you chose. it looked great then and yours is a new interpretation of it! design does indeed go in circles. Winston is very handsome! our BIG boy, a Victorian Bulldog is huge at 3.5 yrs bigger than his dad who weighed 75lbs. Tony weighs in at 88 lbs
This room is incredible! The wallpaper choice I see now was the best choice, and with the sort of sage/celery green doors and trim it's stunning. Now I remember why green is my favorite color.
Drew, my new favorite room. I love the large in this wallpaper. The green is to die for. It's one of my favorite greens, very 30/40's color. LOVE❣️❣️❣️❣️
yay! you went with my favorite paper. i didn't think i would like the cord detail but i ended up loving the way it looked in the end. can't wait to see the rest of the makeover!
I love the black piping :) I did white piping at the edges of my ceiling when I couldn't afford wood trim. People thought I was crazy until it was done, then they loved it. It's not contrasting like yours, it blends in but gives such a pretty finished edge. I love that yours is contrasting, it's giving me ideas to do blue piping on my white beadboard in the bedroom :)
I actually love it. I was worried it would read coastal Grandma, but it actually reads as a mix of sort of like bordello / prairie chic which I’m so here for - can’t wait for part 2
This was the wallpaper I voted for, very cool to see it actually up on your walls. Love the soft green shade and the black trim. Can't wait to see it all put together.
Hi Winston! Drew, the green and wallpaper is lovely and my favorite! Ok, I have lots of faves, if I’m being honest. But green is the freshest, happiest, most versatile color. 💕
I was excited when you showed the wallpaper I love it and the green paint is perfect. I do like the black piping I've never seen that done before, I'm loving it! The light is beautiful and the mirrored dresser is gorgeous.I can't wait to see more I know it will be outstanding. I love your work Drew your style is wonderful.
This room is very different from the others in your home, but it’s nice to see you having fun with a different look. I LOVE the light fixture, and what a great deal you found!
It does appear crooked. It's going downhill it seems and I think he could look at the bottom flower and see how it starts above the baseboard and then, by the end of the wall, the little flower gets cut off. Perhaps he can fix it since it is peel and stick.
that first main large wall is a tiny bit crooked which is totally my bad! I am covering the bottom 1/3 with a headboard so I wasn't too concered along with art over top which I hope will deter haha!
@@lonefoxyou can avoid this in the future by using a laser level to line up the first piece in the corner since walls are never really going to be perfectly straight.
Considering the age of Drew’s house (and location ((San Andreas Fault Line)), there is no way the walls are perfectly straight. Trying to accommodate that and make the wallpaper look straight would be next to impossible! And it won’t be noticeable once furniture, window treatments and art is added. It’s gorgeous Drew; LOVE that green!
Love everything but the black cord but I am trusting the process cause everything so far has been magic and it only matters what you love in your house.
So thrilled you went with the green, good choice Justin, it's gorgeous & I love it❤ Actually, that rope accent gave me an idea to fix a problem that's been driving me nuts. Thanks Drew. Love seeing Winston, he's growing so fast.
Wow, I wasn’t expecting the black roping when you started talking about, I’m like oh this is not gonna work. However, it looks freaking great. I positively love it.
Winston is so cute🐶 Love the wallpaper, green is my fav color💚 The trim color looks so good with the paper too! Love the light fixture, the shades are so unique & pretty! The piping elevates the wall paper just a touch.. and i know you and I've never seen a space that you made over that i didn't love.. that being said i know its going to be another gorgeous room! Also, i love that each room in your home has its own character, they don't all look the same but with different furniture. Then you can sell it or whatever!😁 Ughh i just don't want the rooms to end!
I was so hoping that when you were talking about adding something to the papered walls that it would be picture rail moulding. I think that would look beautiful painted the same green as the rest of the trim. Winston is so adorable that I want to take him and run off to my house!!
Hi Drew, I love the color green so much. The wallpaper looks great! I think that cording adds a nice touch too. Nice dresser! The room is going to beautiful! Can't wait to see!❤

It feels like a historical/heritage style room....I love!! So warm and inviting. Great job!!

I still haven't. 😂😂
Exactly. He has me a little scared right now, but he always pulls it together and makes it look great. 😅

I actually love the green paint colour. When you first started painting the window I was like "Oh no it's so bright" but it really dried down to the perfect shade!
It went on super bright!! I was a bit shocked to see the color in the container vs dried down!
I was worried he was going to pick the dark green. I was so excited when he chose the lighter one. Such a pretty color.
Actually, actually, actually...
😊
Winston is SO adorable. He is also so lucky to have the kind of loving owner that every dog deserves.
You made the right choice!! ❤️ I had said that the green one was calming and the others were too busy of a print.
I love the black cord you added!
The black piping detail is fascinating and made it so much more design-y!
Winston looks like he has on a camouflaged onesie. So cute!!

I was literally screaming at the TV: Paint the ceiling green, Drew! LOL
I love it. Video isn't done. Please please please don't change your mind 🙏
I'll try not to haha!!
Now I was hoping for the light pink 😊
I was thinking the same thing, absolutely love the paint choice for the 5th wall. Cannot wait for the next video to come out
I'm sure the pink would look good but this looks so great
You won't like the next video 😂
Loved the black detail! Also, I don't know who needs to hear "trust me" from Drew! I have zero doubts it's gonna be amazing!

You are so sweet n adorable w your puppy! Love you more for it! Like the wallpaper too! I love the black accent! Great idea n job.
Wallpaper is such a vibe. Such a small detail with a huge payoff! Well done … and your supervisor, Winston, I’m sure agrees.
Love the black detail Europeans have done this for years
Also… the Black is the perfect colour to bring down the wallpaper any wallpaper

Hello, can you say innovation?! The small detail of the piping is giving so much inspiration and versatility. I can think of so many different applications! I love it 🥰
Love the green trim and the black piping.
I seriously like the black piping. You’re right, the wallpaper, (which I too, was worried would be too busy) does look more textural.
I think the black piping is fantastic. It really does make it pop.
The little “teehee 🤭” cracked me up!😂
The wallpaper is beautiful btw! Great choice!😊
I ❤ the green!
Your black piping around the room kind of reminds me of an old front château look. They like busy wallpaper and this color green is so sweet.
I wanted to use a grasscloth wallpaper in our current living room but not over-enthusiastic seeing that it has to be glued....!! It was in our house when I was a teenager so I kinda was nostalgic about it.
I love how you keep pushing the vision!! Cannot wait to see it come together more

love the wallpaper, the paint color and the piping idea- love it all - we trust your vision, Drew ! As always - great to see Justin, too !!!
I am absolutely loving the black cord! It would not have the same effect if there wasn’t such a contrast. Excellent choice!!!
This room is incredible! The wallpaper choice I see now was the best choice, and with the sort of sage/celery green doors and trim it's stunning. Now I remember why green is my favorite color.
I like the green you choose since it goes so well with the wallpaper.
Love the cord. The whole thing reminds me of vintage 80s English designer Laura Ashley, with your own wonderful touch.
Drew, my new favorite room. I love the large in this wallpaper. The green is to die for. It's one of my favorite greens, very 30/40's color. LOVE❣️❣️❣️❣️
Love love love the light fixture!!!
I would buy that light fixture! There are so many unattractive ones out there that I find it frustrating
Love the piping,it brings out the wall paper, but not in a harsh way, great choice!
Drew you’re a genius for that piping.
I am loving the wallpaper and that beautiful antique piece. The lighting is AWESOME.

I love the accent piping around the wallpaper. What a great idea!
I actually LOVE the black rope. I would've never thought of that. Very unexpected surprise! Good job!
LOVE WINSTON TOO, of course❤❤❤
The light fixture of your house are beautiful. All of them.
Omg I love the piping, it reminds me of old European palace bedrooms. Obsessed ❤
