    Watching you and Mr Boo is pure escapism. No drama just gentle and relaxing even watching you reversing lowered my stress levels. The places you visit are beautiful but the real magic of this channel is the laid back feel. For a lad from Dewsbury success was not to me your plays etc but the fact that they enabled you to now live such an idyllic life.

      Thanks John that’s very kind. If you’d seen my stress levels trying to edit this video and then upload it it wouldn’t seem quite so idyllic but that truly was a lovely trip

      No drama? My heart was in my mouth reversing throught that village... I kept expecting someone to walk out of their front door and be knocked out.... that said it did make me chuckle.. Mr Boo's face is a picture .. his eyes were getting wider and wider... Get some T cut it will sort the scratches out....what a lovely place though... Well done guys, you made it... thanks for sharing, you really brightened up a gloomy afternoon in the UK... stay safe xx

    You came a cropper this time, but your passage bravado is appreciated. You guys have moved France up on my list of countries to visit, there really is a cornucopia of spectacular non-tourista locations to enjoy. Another great episode. Maybe it's because I'm feeling peckish, but I do get a sense of satisfaction watching you savour the tasty morsels produced at the restaurants you find. Yum.

    Narrow streets are my sworn enemy, I would never have the guts to go up there, but one of the best tips I got for driving is a simple one that all do but I had missed, the mirrors on the sides shall booth be set so you can see the back wheel so you can know how near you are to edges on the street, I often just sat mine so I saw backwards, but for that we shall use the middle mirror or our neck :D
    As you may understand, I'm a lousy driver, but as fast I can get an AMI in Sweden I will start drive again, inspired by you and your adventures. Thank you for great and fun videos, and interesting locations.

    You’re spoiling us this week, that was almost as long as Ben hur, it started with bollards and Narrow passages and ended with the miracle of Pellie when Elton made it home, could get used to these longer films 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

      When you look at US or big UK sitcoms - they turn out less material per week, and they normally have crews of hundreds of people.
      And most the times the results aren't as entertaining as this show 😉😉

    Tim: You had me worried there. :) You normally have the films posted by Noon / U.S. Central
    Standard Time. I did not see this posted until 3:30 CST. DO NOT make us "nervous" like that. :) :)
    As I prepare for my trip to the Riviera in the late Spring, these films do help so much.
    I can search terms such as "Pielle to Monaco", etc. and the distance comes up "26 minutes", etc.
    I do this will all the films you post as we are all introduced to each community you and Mr. Boo visit.
    Excellent film. :) Antoine

    • @MeandMonAmi
      @MeandMonAmi  ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @globalonemusic2381
      @globalonemusic2381 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MeandMonAmi Sorry for having missed the Tina Turner connection. :) The following ia a far more important issue. As I mentioned in my past postings, I am going to the Riviera in June.I was going to go in April, but will wait until June, for the weather to be much better. By doing those "searches" I mentioned, I find the distance between towns, the street grids, the bus routes, route schedules and fares, etc. Your films actually help me to better plan my trip. :) Of greatest importance is the interaction you and Mr. Boo have with others.
      You are familiar with what has become of the U.S. and its repugnant social culture, without "kindness", "elegance", etc. Someone asked this past Monday..."What on earth would you do in Monaco and on the Riviera for 15 days ?" And...from watching your films, I firmly told her....
      " I will interact with human beings who know how to 'Participate In Life' ". :) :) Thank you very much for all of the positive influence you both provide. :). And, by the way, we are all "older people" now......what are you doing up this late ? :). Antoine

    Hi Tim and Richard. that was test case lesson in "coping" ... considering you have neither of you held a full driver's licence getting out of that was commendable. Its an education to us Ami owners what the vehicle is capable odf..(and its drivers and passengers ) ... Good that the dog was left at home on this occasion... Taking my pre. 70 years of age VOLUNTARY driving assessment tomorrow with RoSPA before I have to re-apply for a new drivers licence so I hope my test is less arduous than your own... Amazing weather for March you had and great conditions for those high altitude and distance shots. Saw the vid you posted on the camera you use last night which was an education. Bill Kerr in Sussex. They haven’t been through the one land road in the Independence Pass in Colorado! After you leave the summit, to head west to Aspen, the most terrifying aspect of the drive is over a one lane road stretch without guard rails! Its an experience one never forgets and that’s the reason the pass is closed during the winter months.

    Halloween has a day off. Get well soon, Halloween! The proper reverse driving technique is to put your right arm around Mr. Boo's seat headrest and look down the center of the car towards the back. Then you can aim better down the center of the street by looking through the rear window. You turn the steering wheel with your left hand. I suppose Mr. Boo's seat is slightly further back than yours, so putting your right arm around that headrest might be difficult. Maybe Mr. Boo will have to volunteer his neck and shoulders? Using rearview mirrors for backing up is something for "lorry" drivers.

    You obviously like to live life on the edge with regard to your Ami's range: all the to-ing and fro-ing so that Mr Boo could film you from across the valley could've forced you to recharge before you got home!😮

    I saw a film today oh boy, just a few seconds, where a Citroen ami was driven in a 360 bend. First on its wheels then on its right side then on its roof then out of sight. It looked like a street around Monaco. I hope, it wasn’t you, you and Mr. Boo!!! Concealing these shameful scratches from that wall?

As the geniuses of Citroen allow to recharge on a regular domestic electric plug! And I can come back very easily. great film craft. Oh it's Oscar time isn't it. The Zou! people (the blue bus) don't honor the Multipass from Nice right at Monaco and they are enforcing it with a 2.50 euro shakedown where Lignes d'Azur hands over to Zou. on Route 607. It looks like an IT meltdown for Zou! as their transition to phone app ticketing evidently bombed - the app "is not available in your country"; on Google Play, and the website doesn't list the points of ticket sales anymore, and - well - looks like you have to pay the driver mostly exact change. On the return I explored the stairs, paths, and alleys to get in an out of Monaco undetected; the last fare-shake down free stop is Liberte. And I found the way. (Because I was born in the fifties and can read a map.) Sheesh I was translating for a spanish speaking group of 'mericans who were really confused by all this. I rest my case. And people think the Cote d'Azur is all easy living...

    Watching the reverse was quite stressful. A little forward and then the wheel momentarily was put in the correct direction and then turned wrongly every time. AAAaaaarrrggghhh. You turned the steering wheel to the right (a wrong move). Then realised it was wrong so corrected by turning even more to the right!!!!! Time to find a large area and practice, practice, practice. Reversing is quite easy just 'reverse' with the controls as well as the car.

    Wow! and thanks for another grand tour! Nothing like a tight squeeze through Le village de la Haute Anxiété to make one want to clobber the tour driver eh? Epic choice of music for the drive up, and with the cliffs and tunnels I was reminded of the opening scene from The Italian Job: 'Matt Monro - On Days Like These' - th-cam.com/video/KQIRbV_noi8/w-d-xo.html and perhaps with a little repositioning of the GoPros and Matt's timeless riff we could enjoy a Me and Mon Ami homage..
    Btw, Tim's Elmer Fudd flannel was a perfect clash for the locale, and I'd love to have a Me and Mon Ami driving cap. Perhaps something that fits Tim's military safari style but with a tad of French or English flair.
    I did a quick look and found a few ideas, some with skin cancer prevention in mind:
    - French Military Surplus Desert Camo Field Caps, 3 Pack, New (sportsmansguide)
    - Star and Wing Embroided Military Cap - GRAY
    - WW1 French army field cap (Trevor George)
    - Genuine French France army military cap
    - French Round Bill Cadet Fashion Military Stretch Caps Hats One Size Fit Unisex
    - OUTBOUND Foreign Legion Cap white
    - RapDom Foreign Legion Mens Cadet Cap
