- @KobirDocumentary Baliati Jomidar Bari Manikganj | বালিয়াটি জমিদার বাড়ি | Historical zamindar palace | Baliati Palace is located in #Baliati village of #Saturia_upazila , approximately eight kilometers west of the district headquarters of #Manikganj_in_the _Dhaka_division of #Bangladesh and thirty five kilometers away from the district headquarters of Dhaka. It is one of the 19th century palaces in Bangladesh. It is also called Baliati Zamindar Bari or Baliati Prasad.This zamindar house is located with a total of seven installations. This Baliati zamindar house or all the buildings of the palace were not built together. The various buildings belonging to this palace were erected at different times by different heirs of the #zamindar family. Currently the central block is the #museum . This palace is preserved and managed by Bangladesh #Archaeological_Department.Govinda Ram Saha founded the Baliati zamindar family. He was a salt merchant in the mid-18th century. Among the various legacies of the zamindar family, “ Kishorilal Roy Chowdhury , Ray Bahadur Harendra Kumar Roy Chowdhury were famous for their development in the field of education at that time. Jagannath College in Dhaka (now #Jagannath_University ) was founded by Kishorilal Roy Chowdhury's father and the institution was named after him.Known as the Baliati Zamindar Bari, the palace complex is a collection of six south-facing buildings spread over an area of about 16,554 square meters. These buildings were built by a few members of the #zamindar family at various times from the mid-nineteenth century to the early twentieth century. The four front #prasads were used for business purposes.
