It is wrong to call it pear, although that is the common name used ignorantly. The actual name is "African plum". It is a plum, not a pear! the local name in Nigeria is Ube.

this is really good, i've only seen pear roasted on the streets. i think some people call it avocado because i saw it on a video. i know it has a bit of a sour taste but i like it.

How do I preserve it?
Keep them in a cool dry place as heat makes them go soft quickly. They don't have a long shelf life.
