Happy New Year to The Minimalists team. You played a significant part in changing my life. Undoing everything.
People are making resolutions to add something in life, I am making a resolution of giving up and quit everything which doesn't add value to my life.
Ben Greenfield is right. To force myself to get up early, it can't just be caffeine. I have a flight early tomorrow, and I've found out that if I blast my phone up to 80% brightness and just stare at it for 5 seconds, it can wake you up faster than a cup of coffee. Also to sleep with cbd is really helpful. Not necessarily because it makes me sleepy, but I use topical cbd to soothe muscles after a day of retail work. It makes my limbs warm and helps me sit still since I'm quite a fidgeter.
Thank you for adding value to my life! You've had some awesome guests this year but I really like what Ben shared and will be listening again when I can give 100% of my attention. I'm at work and this helped me be motivated on a day when many might not be.

Been minimising for last two years.. slowly slowly but now about to minimise into much smaller house.. my daughter teenager.. is now in board...all in her own time.. already feel free...altho a little scared of moving into small apartment.. eek.. but Bill's will be less. Xx

Y'all got my subscription. I came for the Weinstein and stayed for the sleep education.
In my opinion it’s not a good habit to have medicine for sleep. If you are active during day, by evening time you will be tired and at night will fall asleep naturally.
this year I and my girlfriend would like to be able to move out of our parent's house and in with each other, but we can't afford it.
She has nothing at the end of the month and I mean nothing to the point where she is borrowing money of me at the end of the month to get by and I myself am the same in terms of having no money but to pay bills because of depression and anxiety putting me out of work, fortunately, I am getting some counselling this month and am trying to fix it myself.
We live 30 minutes drive away from each other and over the years the drive gets pretty tedious for both of us, this makes me feel very stuck because I don't know how to fix it, I can't get much better than minimum wage work so even when I am back to work we still won't be able to afford it.
My girlfriend has no money because she throws it into her passion for horse riding and taking care of her horse which I have no problem with but it feels like the pressure is on all the time to change my financial situation and change it fast but I struggle to find a way to do that.
I sometimes think, well people like me with let's call it a relaxed brain to be nice don't get to be all that happy or have much going for them because that is simply how it works, no matter how hard I try, I see it all around me everywhere I look most people out of work or working the tedious minimum wage jobs tend to be miserable.
Would you guys have any advice for me?
I loved this! All will be well, invest in yourself and your girlfriend in knowledge and it will pay off one day. Struggles never last wins do!
