I cry with every song because I miss Vessel, the Messenger, the guiding force during this last time I'm alone. I am tired, weak, injured in every way, scared, but I feel the presence of everything coming. This "halted tsunami" I've been dreaming of for almost four decades is right above me and I can only watch and cry.
I know everyone worships vessel as a God ( this is hyperbolic for most )but I have to say, II is the heart of that band. We can't let them turn vessel into a a pop icon either

Me too, but it took me about a month to get into it. I thought these guys were boring as hell the first time I heard them, because all I happened to hear was the piano intros. Then I heard Alkaline and Hypnosis and they grew on me.
Fuuuuuuuuuuuuck MAN...... I'm enthralled. I haven't seriously listened to anyone other than ST in months because of these dudes. My body moves my mind hums and my heart feels with these songs. It's the timing and the contrast of sounds and then they're emotion/skill.
This band truly blpows me away. I get Karnivool vibes around 2:25 which never happens through all of their songs. Vessel truly is the man of 1000 voices but he executes each one with perfection.
Got here because Noah from Bad Omens said to check them out on a q&a video he done during quarantine. Not at all what I thought this band would be but it's really soothing to the ears and I love the lyrics. Different from my normal style of music but I really like it!
@@Llunatix13 The Death of Piece of Mind is such a good album. I heard a few songs before Just Pretend started blowing up on TikTok and I'd never listened to Bad Omens before. But it's so so good. Did you see their live cover of Sympathy by Too Close to Touch?
I woke up this morning with this track echoing in my mind. After 20 listens, this is going on repeat all week long. Only 30 days until the Toronto show! ST has ownership of me and I love it! I have never been as ready as I am for a concert. With every day that passes my vibration rises and rises....
I used to be obsessed with celldweller. Saw him live but it was just a DJ set. Really felt like he was never able to replicate the debut album though. Everything after that was gradually more and more meh and uninspired
"I stumble into your tar trap An addition to your collection" This reminds me of the visuals in the videos for the "Take Me Back to Eden" videos, all statues on plinths with tar pouring out over them...
I pick a different song for each person to introduce them to this band. Explaining what they are about to hear is the only hard part. We are all vessels in some frequency.
@@MysterySkater4 idk man Korn are so basic though. I would say the bass on this song is ALOT like the bass on a song called Numb, by Tempernoi. They make Korn look pretty meh tbh... Tempernoi were a bit like Nothingface, Mudvayne, Onceover, Syx, 22 Even, Etched In Red, Twin Method, Centox, Breach Of Trust, Endface, and The Sammus Theory. It makes me sad when people only acknowledge the likes of Korn, Slipknot, Deftones, LB, LP, SOAD, Staind, etc etc when it comes to nu-metal. Those are so entry level 😆😅🤣
It's pitch-shifted down dramatically low. Countless ways it could have been done. Pitch shifting is built into units like the AxeFX, Helix, and Quad Cortex. It can be achieved with pedals, plugins, etc. That said, it sounds to me like they used a guitar actually tuned to double-drop-B on High Water. This is basically the lowest practically achievable guitar tuning currently. Andrew Baena has a video or two about that tuning.
Vessel: "Do you like that?"
Me, a straight man: "Surprisingly, yes. .....Do it again.

This song does such a great job describing a toxic relationship, that I've got emotional flashback and my stomach turned. 10/10
Best track on the record for me. That climax is absolutely amazing, Vessel's voice is outstanding here
