They have little dual fans. If it were me, that is what I would get. Once you have the windows put in, get those fans. You can get them now, put on your back of your seats with the door windows halfway down. Use a lot more insulation than what you have. Emily used the pink foam board on her walls, look at the cat lady van, and see her episodes where she re did the insulation with the pink foam, you can use the pine boards like she did. You seem to be able to do stuff like that. Im still binge watching your videos when I can I like your content, and your van build is coming along fine.
@@debslifesimplified6406 I have those dual fans but I need more and ventilation in the back. 🥵 My build is a no-build (semi-build) with the intent that everything can come out and it’s left with no damage or permanent changes, at least ones that don’t increase the value of the van. So insulation like Emily has or even the wall boarding like that that isn’t an option, but I’m floating some ideas. Thank you!
I love your videos. Here is my plan for air. A 2000 watt gas generator and a portable 1000 watt air conditioner. There is one on Amazon for 289.00 it is a cute little indoor unit that cools 200 sq feet. The only thing to vent out is a hose. It has 3 modes Fan, Air Con or Dehumidifier. And with a 2000 watt generator plugged into my van, I can still run plenty of other electronics. We run a gas generator with our fifth wheel at all of our harvest hosts. It's not loud and everyone does it. Keep it simple and get out there.
That’s awesome! I think that’s a great setup. I am committed to using electrical and no gas or even propane or butane. The power bank I intended to buy is expandable to the point you could power a house, so all in good time. I even plan to use an induction burner for cooking. Thanks for watching! Editing a new video now…
I'm binge watching so I'm not sure if you've had the fan installed yet but my suggestion would be if you have it installed to go to one of those drive in wash your own car thingys and with that stool you were getting in before your step was installed, power wash the roof. That way if they left shavings you're blowing them off. I know... Long winded to say something simple. 😉 Lulu used that spray foam for installation and I think some of that cut foam, if I remember correctly. Then again some times at 61 I have CRS (can't remember s&$# syndrome) 🤦🏾♀️.
Hello again. Thank you for binge watching! 😁. I dont want to use spray foam because I try to stay true to the no build, so whatever i do need to be able to be removed without a mark. I actually might cheat and have someone do the insulation and walls for me. I’m waiting for a quote right now lol. I’m too old and broken! As for the fan, I decided against it for now. Might change my mind later as I do!
I checked back on LULU’s Van build. She used Polar house rap on her ceiling and panel insets. For the fabric panels which were bigger than the insets she said she used corrugated plastic. I hope this helps.
@@GypsyNana67 ah, yes it does! Thank you. I thought it might have been that plastic. After thinking about it, I realized the pink insulation probably won’t hold fabric anyway. I’ll figure it out at some point!
@@nancyjohnson2070 yeah they are having an amazing sale. I have the smaller blueetti too but i want the ac200 expandable Max due to my power needs! Thank you, i wish i could take advantage but financially can’t get anything right now. 😞
Please watch "Travel Snacks" and her struggle with the AC. She had to put the nozzle under the blankets to get any cool from it. Matty Van Halen has is max fan installed in his rear door. A question, are you using your Promaster as a daily Driver? If so how is it working for you?
@@deeplansandbudgets yes!! I watch her channel and saw that before. I’m aware of the unfortunate limits of a personal AC unit but for my situation, it’s going to be the best way to go. Not only can I use it when the van is opened up and outside, I can take it in my sticks n bricks home in the event I lose power due to storms or whatever. It will be clunky but I dont see another option. Yes I use it as my daily driver and I love it!
Just remember with those a/c"s you need a window to vent out both tubes and they are heavy. If I were to be honest with you as I have one myself, they take up a lot of space and do not even cool off my 136 wheel base promaster. If you have the ability, it might be best to try and get a roof a/c, which I am looking into. The a/c you are talking about only works when you are sitting directly in front of it regardless of what other TH-camrs have said and it only drops the interior temp about 10 degrees if you are lucky. When it's 100 degrees outside that is not much help at all! The Maxx-air fan was well worth the worry for me. I would not spend a lot of money until you actually camp in the van because none of this may help you at all and it would be a lot of good money gone bad. I suggest you put some regular fans in your van and carry some cold towels and a bottle of water to spritz yourself with when it gets hot. Keep that in your cooler as well. Using a spritzer while sitting with your fans helps so much! I am 52 and have chronic illness and that has been a lifesaver. Plus, go where the temperatures are cooler at night and around 80's in the daytime. That is such a relief to your body when you can sleep cooler. These are things that helped me.
@@wandervan.kb71 Good advice, thank you! I can’t go to where it’s cooler, at least not now. I’d love to get an AC on the top, I’d let them cut a hole for THAT 😁. I know the personal AC’s only cool you off personally and not the van, although I have a 118” wheel base so it would help some. But they are Iike the AC on the dash, it has to be pointed on you. I do have some regular fans for the van, thankfully. Anyway, the big $$ items are all things that I know I need already, and living in FL it won’t be a waste of money even in the house during power outages, so I’m committed to getting them!

Another thought about the window to help with air flow is being able to keep it open in the rain is having an awning window.

There’s a thing you can buy to put in the window for the Eco flow hoses

Hey Dawn welcome back. Bob Wells did a run down on the air conditioners. He didn’t like any of them. Check out his video on TH-cam.
