We saw him place this tonight (February 9, 2019) in Laguna Beach with Joyce Yang on piano. It was just as beautiful, in fact so beautiful it makes you want to cry.
A very interesting presentation between violin and piano, very enjoyable, top praise for both musicians-thank you for adding to the world's live collection of music that stands the test of time.
Just wonder... did Heifetz originally arrange in F# major....? My score is in F, I wish I had this music, that is more sentimental and different beauty than that in F.....
To me it feels as it is a little bit too much, too much correspondance of the piano, too much vibrato, too much sound. It ends up feeling like a brahms's movement with heavy sentiment and counterpoint in the piano. P.s. I love Hadelich and I hope to be able to hear him soon live this is only my impression on this piece
I agree- this was really beautiful but I feel like it would have been nice if it were a little more gentle and delicate. He’s an absolutely fabulous player though!

No offense, but it IS a piece with "heavy sentiment," which his playing brings out beautifully.
I quite enjoyed the contrast, personally. I really enjoyed this piece. It gave me nostalgia for the mid 20th century films.
