Welcome back. I loved the review and it is probably a new favorite of mine as you put in a lot of effort. I'm loving the new edits, art style and sound effects. And I loved that you mentioned all the unmade scripts in order and details, (with my favorite being FvJ '2000, I was happy you gave it a positive score, and gave high praise for it.) With all the reviews you did for the other films, this was worth it and felt like a great journey to reach until the remakes are settled. I am looking forward to more in this new season, Luke. 🥂

Great review, love the editing style as always. The alliteration for a lot of the descriptions for things were awesome and hilarious. Can't wait to watch more of season five!
One small correction on the list of Jason actors at 23:13 Warrington Gillette only played unmasked Jason at the end of Part 2 when he crashes through the window to grab Ginny. Steve Dash (RIP) was the one who did all the work, the producers gave him the wrong screen credit because he was brought on to do the stunts later.
Fun fact: They filmed the ending really early on. And WG was scared to crash thru the sugar glass window. They had to build a swing to get him thru the window. That’s why he kinda curls up once he crashes thru the window. He was released from the film before it was finished and they called in Steve Dash. B/c WG had been signed to play Jason, he got the credit. And he was going to conventions and signing pics of Dash as Jason. He took credit for many years until Dash was convinced by the stunt coordinator to come out with the true story.
Halloween Ends does have some elements from Freddy vs Jason with Corey repowering Michael. I’m convinced that Halloween Ends was DGG’s fan-fiction of a Freddy vs Jason vs Michael movie.

Most of the actors stink, it has that "Made in Canada and this the best cast and crew we could find" vibe (note that Canada has a much smaller population than America so by default Canada has less talent than America). The director wasn't familiar with Freddy or Jason, and it shows.
However, it still would've been made by the same crew behind Jason Goes to Hell. So even if the story sounded decent, the awkward early 90s Jason crew would still be making decisions. Plus, I wouldn't want to see what Marcus would've done to Freddy and Nancy, and the fact he brought her back despite her dying in Part 3 is a big sign that it wouldn't make sense.
Yeah it’s a great concept, but as my boy Brandon stated above, he definitely would’ve fumbled the ball and made Nancy die in the opening scene or some dumb shit lol.
With all those unmade FvJ scripts, I kinda wonder if they just found a Freddy Vs. Jason subreddit and said, hey write us some fan fiction...no wait that would of been better...Great video!

It’s been 20 years and this is not only one of my favorite summer flicks but one of my favorite horror movies too I actually didn’t find out about this movie apart from one trailer and a newspaper article Two of the most famous slasher icons finally come face-to-face in this unique crossover The project actually spent so much time in development hell plus the fact that ‘Friday the 13th’ was with Paramount and ‘Nightmare on Elm Street’ belonged to New Line Cinema But once the rights switched over Jason Vorhees and Freddy Kruger could finally be in the same movie, it was just a matter of how to bring them together Director Ronny Yu from ‘Bride of Chucky’ delivers some terrific gore, fun action set pieces, and has great chemistry with these two slasher villains thanks to writers Damian Shannon and Mark Swift The soundtrack is one of my absolute favorites, it has a brisk running time, and Robert Englund gives the most energy he’s had playing the killer with knives on his hands New actor Ken Kirzinger isn’t too shabby either as Jason being brutal not letting anything phase him much less a monster from the dream world This was also my first introduction Monica Keena, Kelly Rowland, Jason Ritter, and Katherine Isabelle When the movie is actually about Freddy and Jason it kicks ass, there’s great doses of humor too with slick visuals Even Freddy Krueger gets a new makeup job as we see how much prosthetics have changed There’s a glorious self-awareness that you can’t help but notice The final showdown is the absolute best part where fans get the best of both these killers duking it out Although when the movie isn’t focusing on that it’s the same ol slice and dice formula with disposable human characters even if they do match the 2000s era The conspiracy plot to cover up Freddy Kruger is interesting but it doesn’t really go anywhere Yet an overall theme of children paying for their parents crimes is apparent throughout The film was still a box office hit even if the reviews were mixed at best paying homage to both franchises that have lasted for over 40 years Whatever the case the movie still is loads of fun to watch the bloody carnage unleashed by these two horror icons that definitely came from a rocky start

Just come across your channel. I loved this video. Great work!!!!! To me, FVJ seemed like a Nightmare movie more than a crossover featuring both. Ronny Yu wouldn’t know a good horror movie if it hit him in the face. Fun fact: When Betsy Palmer was asked to make a cameo, they offered her a measly amount. So she declined.
I'm about a year late to the video, but I have to know where to get that Return of the Living Dead Tshirt... The characters making up the mohawk is so cool
My god, how hard was it to write a movie where Jason and Freddy fight without completely fucking everything up and not following either series' continuity?
Thank you for another review and an awesome one too. Freddy versus Jason is definitely one of my favorites, and even though he got one kill, he pulled the strings, so that counts lol. Freddy was my favorite in this and he was the one I was going for and since this was Robert Englund's last roll, it means more. I'm glad they showed them in hell in the beginning, I'm glad the movie went the way it did, Kane Hodder would have been better, but it wasn't a horrible Jason. It was a pain in the ass of a wait, but I was very satisfied when we got this. Plus as always, I love the Jason goes to hell and Adam Marcus jabs that you do.
Yeah Freddy vs Jason to me is nostalgic because I saw it in the theaters when i was like 12. first slasher i saw in theaters. But to me more of the fun was centered around trying to fucking find copies of each series fucking movies to rent during this period. I appreciate that you deep dived this so much, I knew about some of the drafts but like fuck there were a lot. Loved this video Also, I have a weird theory on the Nightmare on Elm Street Timeline, since Alice's kid was considered for one of the drafts. We all know that in early development John Doe from Freddys Dead was supposed to be Jacob, and while that was mostly dropped there are still little hints to that being the case throughout the movie. I touched on some of this in my Freddys Dead video but thats a year old, I may have to do my own "theory" video at some point So the standard timeline goes 1, 2, 3 ,4 ,5 Freddys Dead and then FvsJ with New Nightmare being an elseworlds type story. FvsJ could be also considered elseworlds but whatever. my interpretation of the timeline is that it actually goes 1,3,4,5, 2 and then Freddys Dead of course its explicitly stated that it takes place 5 years after 1, and then Dream Warriors, Dream Master and Dream Child take place roughly through a 2-3 year time period however. its never really stated where Dream Warriors takes place, Nancy is still a student so one could place her internship at probably 2 or so years into her post-secondary education. Its possible she is doing an accelerated program as well with that being said, 3, 4 and 5 all go off without a hitch. but when we see the state of Springwood in 6. I think Jesse's encounter with Freddy was the catalyst for him being able to actually bridge into the real world and make springwood into the twisted pocket dimension that it is. The Heroes in 2 didn't defeat Freddy, we know this based on the stinger at the end of 2. So, the climax of 2 was Freddy twisting the world, sure he was removed from Jesse with the power of platonic love, but by that point he was able to basically turn Springwood into his own little dream world colony in our world. It can be presumed that Jesse, Lisa and the rest all died while Freddy set his sights on the rest of the children of Springwood. Here it goes into sort of fan-fictiony territory but one can assume that Alice showed up and tried to stop Freddy and was killed and Jacob would lose his memory and spend the next 10 years in Springwood living through an endless nightmare and losing his memory. I think Freddy's dead honestly has 101 good ideas but none of them are executed properly and thats a fucking shame sorry for the essay lol
I really like Freddy vs. Jason (2003). I think the story is solid. The main characters or supporting characters weren't particularly memorable nor charismatic in any way, but they weren't really the focus of the film. As a Nightmare on Elm Street-Fan I really liked Freddy Krueger in this one. He was scary and at the same time funny just like in The Dream Warriors and The Dream Master. As a Friday the 13th-Fan I had no problems with Ken Kirzinger as Jason Voorhees. Yes, he wasn't as good as some other actors who played this character but he still did a good job. He reminded me a lot of the Frankenstein Monster with his performance. The movie's soundtrack is really good. "How can I live" Song from Ill Nino at the end credits became one of my favorite songs because of this movie. And the Kills are f*cking awesome in this movie. My Rating is ⭐️⭐️⭐️½ out of ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Easily my favorite VS-Movie. Too bad it never got a Sequel 😔 At least it got a continuation in form of "Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash" - Comics.
Nice Shemp reference 😁 and Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me Just watched the movie last night, and laughed at the 'kind of sort of' pissed off mob of parents in the Freddy origin story, at the beginning. And how the guy just kinda throws the torch all half-assed like, 'ehhh'. Maybe they were just crappy and uncaring parents, to begin with, and that is why their kids fell prey to Freddy?
Well the plot actually does make sense. If a victim of Freddy is scared that gives him more power so by them finding a way to forget about him, he can't get any power. Which is why he needs to wake up Jason so they can go like "oh man this is worse than Freddy Kruger's murders.". And if they forget Freddy, which is what Nancy did in the original. Meaning they aren't as afraid of Freddy so no fear, no power. I hope all that made sense.
This review made me realize there should be horror movie and monster also cryptic mortal Kombat style fighting game I want that to be made have all the horror movie slashes like Leatherface hell leprechaun and these two and so much more also Bigfoot and the other originals also vampire and Frankenstein and others put them together I want that to be real

It’s been 20 years and this is not only one of my favorite summer flicks but one of my favorite horror movies too
I actually didn’t find out about this movie apart from one trailer and a newspaper article
Two of the most famous slasher icons finally come face-to-face in this unique crossover
The project actually spent so much time in development hell plus the fact that ‘Friday the 13th’ was with Paramount and ‘Nightmare on Elm Street’ belonged to New Line Cinema
But once the rights switched over Jason Vorhees and Freddy Kruger could finally be in the same movie, it was just a matter of how to bring them together
Director Ronny Yu from ‘Bride of Chucky’ delivers some terrific gore, fun action set pieces, and has great chemistry with these two slasher villains thanks to writers Damian Shannon and Mark Swift
The soundtrack is one of my absolute favorites, it has a brisk running time, and Robert Englund gives the most energy he’s had playing the killer with knives on his hands
New actor Ken Kirzinger isn’t too shabby either as Jason being brutal not letting anything phase him much less a monster from the dream world
This was also my first introduction Monica Keena, Kelly Rowland, Jason Ritter, and Katherine Isabelle
When the movie is actually about Freddy and Jason it kicks ass, there’s great doses of humor too with slick visuals
Even Freddy Krueger gets a new makeup job as we see how much prosthetics have changed
There’s a glorious self-awareness that you can’t help but notice
The final showdown is the absolute best part where fans get the best of both these killers duking it out
Although when the movie isn’t focusing on that it’s the same ol slice and dice formula with disposable human characters even if they do match the 2000s era
The conspiracy plot to cover up Freddy Kruger is interesting but it doesn’t really go anywhere
Yet an overall theme of children paying for their parents crimes is apparent throughout
The film was still a box office hit even if the reviews were mixed at best paying homage to both franchises that have lasted for over 40 years
Whatever the case the movie still is loads of fun to watch the bloody carnage unleashed by these two horror icons that definitely came from a rocky start

Thomas has always been GOAT'd
Just come across your channel. I loved this video. Great work!!!!! To me, FVJ seemed like a Nightmare movie more than a crossover featuring both. Ronny Yu wouldn’t know a good horror movie if it hit him in the face.
Fun fact: When Betsy Palmer was asked to make a cameo, they offered her a measly amount. So she declined.
Welcome aboard!
I'm about a year late to the video, but I have to know where to get that Return of the Living Dead Tshirt... The characters making up the mohawk is so cool

*runs to watch* oh! New art style and opening!❤️
My god, how hard was it to write a movie where Jason and Freddy fight without completely fucking everything up and not following either series' continuity?
Harder than Portland Cement it appears.
Yeah, Freddy rocks in this one, and feels bittersweet it’s the last time we saw him as the rockstar of the slasher icons…
I love watching this one🎉
It’s my favorite, too!

Amazing video friend
I’ve never clicked on something so fast. You’d never believe the scream in which I screamt of excitement
Keep calm and carry on!
I really enjoy your content! Would you ever consider doing horror movie franchise rankings? I’d love to see that some time!
Loved this video
Also, I have a weird theory on the Nightmare on Elm Street Timeline, since Alice's kid was considered for one of the drafts. We all know that in early development John Doe from Freddys Dead was supposed to be Jacob, and while that was mostly dropped there are still little hints to that being the case throughout the movie. I touched on some of this in my Freddys Dead video but thats a year old, I may have to do my own "theory" video at some point
So the standard timeline goes 1, 2, 3 ,4 ,5 Freddys Dead and then FvsJ with New Nightmare being an elseworlds type story.
Its possible she is doing an accelerated program as well
with that being said, 3, 4 and 5 all go off without a hitch. but when we see the state of Springwood in 6.
I think Freddy's dead honestly has 101 good ideas but none of them are executed properly and thats a fucking shame
sorry for the essay lol
Love this.

Luke I enjoy your reviews have you seen terrifier? If so your thoughts?
The first one I didn’t care for, but Terrifier 2 was fantastic. Art the Clown makes any other slasher in the game look lame.
I was NOT expecting to hear Patrice.
Always gotta pay respects to Bruiser.
@40:13 never heard of Alice in wonderland?

@@ConfusedReviews we've had our disagreements, but I enjoy your material and recognize the hard work you put into it
Lemme pull a chair up
A great review. I love your style of humor.
What/who’s the cooked turkey with the suggestively spread legs?
when's the new episode coming? I can't get enough
This movie will always have special place in my heart especially on Halloween. 🎃🖤🔪😌
good lord, some of these are insane
My Rating is ⭐️⭐️⭐️½ out of ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Easily my favorite VS-Movie. Too bad it never got a Sequel 😔
At least it got a continuation in form of "Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash" - Comics.
Final girl is named Laurie, missed that previously.
Pretty cool!
Are you gonna do reviews on Phantasm series?
Nice Shemp reference 😁 and Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me
Just watched the movie last night, and laughed at the 'kind of sort of' pissed off mob of parents in the Freddy origin story, at the beginning. And how the guy just kinda throws the torch all half-assed like, 'ehhh'. Maybe they were just crappy and uncaring parents, to begin with, and that is why their kids fell prey to Freddy?
This movie has always reminded me of Frankenstein and the Wolfman.
Awesome review!! you’ve been gone for too long! Btw where did you get the return of the living dead T-shirt?
Thanks, Joe! I got that bad boy on Amazon!
@@ConfusedReviews found it thank you!!
