I have a 2017 Superb L&K Combi , 2ltr diesel, from New. All the bells and whistles, sunroof, extra airbags, premium sound system , variable boot, etc etc. It now has 380,000 kilometers on her and still drives like new. Tight and no rattles. It's my intention to buy a new one. Diesel of course. I am also looking for a BMW 5 Touring diesel 2022 if anyone knows of one get in contact! 😊. The superb I have is my second one. The first one I bought in 2014 after looking at a review by Bob Flavin . I highly recommend the Superb.

Great review Mark. If the Skoda Octavia is all the car you ever need then the Superb must be all the car you ever need only bigger. Another great family, practical , reliable, and spacious Skoda. Prices will probably start around €50k
The superb is the best estate car out there. I'm on my second one but I will be disappointed if they are not now offering a 300+bhp petrol 4x4 in this new range to replace my Mk3 280 L&K.

I have a 2016 2.0 Diesel DSG Superb and have done 248,000 km on it since then. Runs perfect. Only issue was the aluminium strips which surround the rear windows kept coming off. The garage was never able to fix it properly and Skoda Ireland washed their hands of it after replacing them once. Now I just drive the car with the rear strips missing which looks a bit tatty. The L&K suspension should have been noticeably better or did both cars have the new adaptive dampers? Do you loose any boot space with 4x4 like you do in golf? Was carplay more reliable?

I have to contradict you on the review reguarding the engines. With 4 pessengers and trunk full with luggages the 150hp are not enough if you need to do a fast overtake. The diiference of 40hp compared to a diesel can be felt, plus with a full car the petrol engine will start to eat more fuel. Also I do not feel the need the volume slider that you said is a negative,I always use volume from steering wheel on every car I had. This is my choice for my next car, looks beautiful and I bet is an amazing car.
Hi Mark. Great review. As always. Saw your surprise with the choice of petrol there 😊. Oddly, on the Skoda configure UK, the L&K only comes with the 4x4 diesel engine which is strange ….. and, so surprising, the rear wiper option is now £120 where it was a free option. Odd. I definitely like the interior more than the Passat and the smart dials are a good compromise. It does beggar belief that every manufacturer followed the Tesla route of everything in the screen. Volvo EX30 has copied that almost completely. Will seriously consider buying a new one of these but would have to be a spec ex up SE L in order to get the petrol engine. That really is an odd decision by Skoda. Great work Mark and look forward to the next.
Both are designed by Škoda folks, some of whom are German, however, they share more parts than before, and both are made in the Slovak capital Bratislava now. The Passat has the VW logo, some knobs instead of dials but the driving impression is the same.
