You find the most amazing things at the thrift stores in your area! The thrift stores in Houston are so overpriced, there’s no room for reselling and making a profit. Love all your DIY’s!
Highlights magazine! Wow! One of my favorite magazines as a kid, such good stuff in there! I used to enjoy reading those as a kid in the doctor's or dentist's office waiting room, such fun! The elephant carving also takes me back, Back in the 70's, Grandma and Grandma had a special set of wood carvings from Africa just like that in a glass case in their living room. I used to look in wonder at the carvings and be amazed by the beauty of African culture, I still find it beautiful to this day.
The bleaching of the jackets bring back Memories, for when I was Younger I bought high neck cotton ribbed sleeveless tank tops in teal blues, green, dark pink and dark gray and would put a piece of plastic covered cardboard on the inside of the shirt and use a Clorox Pen and free hand wild flowers on the front and then rinse the shirts to show the print... They were AWESOME. I gave them to my Friends and Family for Easter. Wow, Thank You for this part of the Video.
Whenever you put the washcloth on the paint inlay, I'm always reminded of those tattoos for kids where you wet the back and then peel off the paper and the tattoo stays on your skin.😄I liked the bleached sunflowers jacket the best!
I’m 75 and we used to get long sleeve denim or chambray shirts and decorate by sewing on eyelet lace. colorful rickrack and make puffy flowers using quilting scraps. We edged the sleeve cuffs, and sometimes changed the buttons to match. Fun memories. I may have to try to do one this fall. Thanks for my memory💗💗💗💗💗💗
Back in the 80s my daughter asked me to bleach her denim jacket so I did I painstakingly bunched it up in rubber bands and poured bleach on it but I didn't have a clue about diluting the bleach when I got it out of the washer it had huge holes in it needless to say my daughter was none to happy when she got back from school that day
There is something you can buy that adds to you paint to make it washable. Probably find it on line or Michael’s or Hobby Lobby. I used it years ago and it worked. Love the jackets and watching two of my favorite TH-camrs shop.
Those denim jackets turned out really nice! I have to say I like the one that you washed that took off some of the background paint because now it has a mottled look which I like even better. Maybe doing that first (paint and wash) and then adding the flower transfer is the way to go. Thanks
They might make fabric pens to go back in of the sunflowers, I accidentally got bleach on two tops, now I know how to have fun fixing them. One is a cotton plaid shirt. We shall see what happens I would skip the high end purses they usually check well they try, I got duped at good will,, they had it in a Locked case too.
When you showed the washed paint inlay, I first thought the inlay had transfered (no pun...😏) to the painted part (shadowy effect) because the blue is the same color as the jacket. I kind of liked the look, even though it wasn't what you were going for. Loved your haul, just amazing and remarkable items you find and rescue from the landill.~Laura 😊❤
Hi. May be by sealing on both sides, it would have held up?? Sealead on one side and permeable on the other? Perhaps that was it?😊❤ it does kind look good😊
My friend used to sell Levi's with bleached stencils. After a few washes the pant seams came apart. The thread could not withstand the bleach. Still super cute. Wonder if peroxide would be more delicate?
I would put some black trim around the painted block to make it look finished instead of a painted block. My mother was a seamstress, sewer and quilter. Everything was always finished off.
I think I am the only one who doesn’t like the stencilled jackets and paint on the back of one jacket, probably because I like lace and patchwork and cartoons etc sewed on old denim, love everything else you got from the bins.
Back in the early 90's there was a product that u put in your paint to make it adhere to fabric, unfortunately i don't remember the name but I've seen it at hobby lobby
I really like the jacket projects ❤ and even tho the inlay washed out some..it still looks cool! Fun haul! Are you keeping one of the jackets or do you have one you're doing for yourself? The stencil idea is super cute!
Oh man, I love how those jean jackets turned out. Bummer about the paint inlay. But I feel like it's salvageable if you wanted to do another on top of it. Can you do it without a sealer and heat set the paint with the cloth and iron method? Or rather than a paint inlay, could you put a transfer on it since it wouldn't be washed anyway? Also, you had some amazing bins finds! I love these vids.
Did you use the bleach at 100% on the jacket with the stencil? I'm guessing you must have since you didn't mention watering it down. Love all of the jackets, but too bad about the inlay.

The Highlights magazine’s were in the dentist office for kids to read when I was a kid.

That’s exactly what I think of too lol
The pink chenille is fabulous. That’s my bins unicorn! I would love to find one in the wild.

Fun memories, but definitely a look that should stay in the past. I had them too, I even quilted photo albums and frames 😂
Your jackets turned out so Boho CUTE!
Always love how real you are! That jacket fail was classic and showing it is impressive in the video world! Blessed days!
The red, white and blue afghan is gorgeous and I really like the Norman Rockwell cookbook.
Love the stencils and bleach technique on the jackets !
I love the paint inlay jacket. Love it!
The jean jackets turned out well!! Great idea!
Those denim jackets are to dye for ❤
😂

I am always astonished at the quality of your bins items - especially the linens!

Denim turned out fantastic! Would be fun on jeans, too!
That is so cute, I love it with the black painted flowers
My favorite book is A Tree Grows in Brooklyn.
Just rewatched the movie two nights ago. Betty Smith was a beautiful writer.
I love the final results on your denim! I was a little hesitant, but they turned out great.
Love the bleach jackets.👍🇭🇲🇭🇲
A fantastic haul, I loved that massive quilt, just lovely. & thanks for including your learning moments too. Good to know we all have them 😊
Your jackets are so fun!
The pieced quilt and the inlay on the jacket were my fave pieces. Great stuff.
Love all your finds but especially love the Jean jackets!
Oh my gosh - the jackets are awesome! Love them all.
Absolutely love what you all did with the denim jackets!
I used to 💕 Highlights. 😊
Loved all the denim’s!❤❤❤
Glad your picking up quilts, I saw lehi has the garden of quilts coming up
I love the sunflowers jacket
Oh my goodness, I thought I was the only one who looks for shipping supplies at the bins, lol. Much love from FunkyFeederFinds in Canada
Wow great haul! Really enjoyed the jean jacket makeovers!
We had canisters like you found but in yellow. I like the jackets you did, even the inlay one. Good items for Saturday!
The inlay in the jacket is sooo cool!
That Mirro roaster is cool! And that quilt!!!
Hi kids...always good to see ya😊😊
They might make fabric pens to go back in of the sunflowers, I accidentally got bleach on two tops, now I know how to have fun fixing them. One is a cotton plaid shirt. We shall see what happens
I would skip the high end purses they usually check well they try, I got duped at good will,, they had it in a Locked case too.
I reread A Tree grows in Brooklyn recently. Great classic
Wow great haul and I love all the denim ❤❤❤
I was a cassette girl. Eight tracks were a pain because you would have to change them in the middle of a song.
The potholder we made in Relife Society about two years ago.
I have booth and I’ve been collecting flannel shirts to bleach for fall. I’m kinda nervous to do them but just going to jump in and do it!
Super fun video 🤗
Look up fabric medium....you can add it to paint to be able to paint on fabrics and have it be stable.
Magnetite pots are my favorite
What??? You found a Magnalite roaster with a lid at the bins?? Awesome!
My favorite is the bleached stencil jacket!
Love the denim jackets. i have two children’s that i found at the dumpster washed them and they are good to go! need to find a stencil for them!
I have an entire family of the hand carved teakwood elephants that my dad bought overseas in the 1960s. I think there are 6 or 8 of them.
A Tree Grows in Brooklyn is one of my favorite old movies. Margaret O'Brian, great at Christmas. 🌟 🐄 if you know = 👍 🎉
Your bins are awesome. The one near me is mostly trash and the bins are pretty empty. I do find items but it's a bit hard.
When you showed the washed paint inlay, I first thought the inlay had transfered (no pun...😏) to the painted part (shadowy effect) because the blue is the same color as the jacket. That was fun, I would paint that blue to match the coat and try something else over it
You can seal with modpodge for fabrics. Or here's an idea, use fabric paint. Cheaper than chalk paint.
I love the bleach sunflowers!
My grandparents had a wioden elephant we used to alk take turns loving it. They also had an i ory waleus tusk we used to take to school
Hi. May be by sealing on both sides, it would have held up?? Sealead on one side and permeable on the other? Perhaps that was it?😊❤ it does kind look good😊
Magnalite pan is a great find! 150.
You can add a fabric medium to your paint to keep it softer
Great music at the end 👍
Would spray adhesive work on the stencil when spraying the bleach to prevent the ‘bleeding’ of the bleach?
My friend used to sell Levi's with bleached stencils. After a few washes the pant seams came apart. The thread could not withstand the bleach. Still super cute. Wonder if peroxide would be more delicate?
I've seen people use a light spray adhesive to help transfers stick and help eliminate bleeding. Maybe that would work on fabric pieces too.
I wondered why you didn’t heat seal the inlay?
This was a truly fun video.
Sorry about earlier.
We did. But we were worried it would bleed so we tried sealer. We’re gonna do it again and try just heat.
Jami how will you get the bottom of the pan cleaned
Barkeeps friend
Do you heat set the paint of the inlay? Try a dry iron cool idea
Woo hoo!
My first car had an 8 track player in it. I didn't have any of those tapes though...
I wonder if you used fabric paint and then did an inlay if that would work.
I would try heat setting the inlay jacket next time.

Charles M Russell is an artist from Montana. Lots and lots of beautiful paintings.
Use the fabric pens that you bought on the jean jackets!
Hello from sunny Pacific Northwest (high 70’s)
I really like the jacket projects ❤ and even tho the inlay washed out some..it still looks cool! Fun haul! Are you keeping one of the jackets or do you have one you're doing for yourself? The stencil idea is super cute!
I’m selling them all. They’re a little big on me, but I may find another one next time we’re drifting for myself.
@JamiRayVintage ,oh yeah, you should for yourself!! You looked cute modeling them! It's such a darling idea.. fun flips!
Oh man, I love how those jean jackets turned out. Bummer about the paint inlay. But I feel like it's salvageable if you wanted to do another on top of it. Yeah I’m gonna try it without sealer just hear set and then wait to wash
Love the jackets, pure bleach?
Yes
I believe if you added fabric medium to the painted area the jacket could be washed. Then heat set!
@@jewelcurrie8709 yeah but you can’t get it in the inlay.
I like the look of the painted panel AFTER the washing, but to put the inlay on AFTER the wash. What do you think?
You could. But then don’t wash it again. Lol
Did you use 100% bleach or was it watered down????
I’m just gonna watch
Where do you sell Cookbooks? I couldn’t get rid of them at our last garage sale! Finally said 25 cents each. Still had some left over! Ehhh
Yard sales are a different clientele. We sell online and that reaches way more people.
❤❤❤
Wow all the entries are on TOP instead of tge bottom.
Is it pure bleach?
how much are you going to be asking for the hexagon quilt?
$199
❤
Did you use the bleach at 100% on the jacket with the stencil? I'm guessing you must have since you didn't mention watering it down. Love all of the jackets, but too bad about the inlay.
Yes, 100%
A tree grows in Brooklyn is an amazing story…have you read it?
Maybe use fabric paint
Check to see if if the coach has YKK ZIPPERS.
