One of those accidental songs that become an absolute iconic masterpiece of the genre. As a metalhead for life this shit has exactly what I need. Peace to our brothers across the pond ripping the steel! 🤘
@Jamie- I saw them open for Clutch too - was in Grand Rapids, Michigan at the Orbit Room - I had been listening to the Goblin for about 6-9 months prior, was stoked to see them live - then disappointed to see them live. It was likely the venues fault for poor sound.

Please do not offend Black Sabbath.yes this is very Sabbath, too much for me, this is a absolute lack of originality. you know i wonder if this kind of people think that they can fool the people who really listen music. this is just ridiculous man, sad.
For those who would be interested in the lyrics: Chaos is calling, the kingdoms are falling The planets collide in the sky The old ones command, by a curse or by hand That we've come to the end of our times Thoughts paralysed, a red tide will rise Dystopia seen through cephalopod eyes Creatures reborn, from weird tales untold Visions of horror, dimensions unknown to this world Gods are descending, a force unrelenting Cthulhu will rise from the sea Turning blood red and awaking the dead From their aeons of suffering sleep Monoliths rise, to fiery skies Empires dead in the shadow of flies Serpent unwind, to torture and bind No one survives the ultimate fall of mankind Atlantis will rise! The kraken alive! These are fortean times! No sanctuary, no hail mary, No visionary... can save you from what has begun! Infidels fall to their knees and they start Praying to something that's never been there in their hearts Searing white light from the guardians flesh Azrael rising, wings of the angel of death No sanctuary, no hail mary, No visionary... can save you from what has begun! This is leviathan! Death of the sun! Age of darkness has won.
What a breath of fresh air! Most heavier bands today all sound the same "chug-chug, chig-chug-chug, scream, chug-chug." Not this band! They are doing their own thing. Hallelujah!!!
+loch urquhart You gotta be kidding me. Don't disrespect Metallica . This music is good but without Metallica there wouldn't be an orange goblin. I was watching-listening to Metallica in the mid eighties. My guess is you were swimming around in your daddy's sac. Bite your tongue and have some respect whipper-snapper.
kozmo dog yet another ignorant person who hasn't realised venom, iron maiden, motorhead and black sabath all predate metallica. Venom by two years. Motorhead and iron maiden by six and over a decade for sabbath. To make matters worse for yourself you've been listening to this music for about three decades and don't understand it's origin. You have respect for the bands that are really owed credit for the start of metal.
Cthulhu and Lovecraftian lyrics, they never disappoint. Monstrous and slippery, bulging eyes and rubbery lips, Cthulhu descends upon us, unstoppable, unrelenting.
yeah dude, i saw them in missoula on April 1st lol they'll come back! they said missoula was the craziest night of the tour, they'll have to come back sometime \m/
Saw them last night in Barcelos, Portugal and it was on the most AWESOME concerts that i ever eveeer been ! That guy is a force of nature and so nice . Really amazing
fuck ya reminded me of the old old headbangers ball videos the ones they only played late-night Saturday i was like 14-15 and waited all week to see slayer supatura celtic frost videos and the old king dimond man. those were the days
I almost couldn't believe it when I heard this song on the radio... an AWESOME new rock song?! Hopefully the days of Imagine Dragons/Atlas Genius/Etc are numbered
I love various things about this - the return of Ben's hair, Joe's t-shirt, Millard hiding behind his hair for the entire video, all the Lovecraftiness, and the simple fact that it's Orange Goblin.
Such groove man. Bass is just nailing it tight whilst those chords ring and the drums lay down a solid foundation. Hmmm I may be able to get into these more.
Really cool song, I only listened to your record a few times on Spotify (booooh, I know), but I'll be try to catch you guys live the next time you come around! Cheers from Belgium
It doesn't matter how little attention these guys get, Orange Goblin is one of the greatest bands of all time. They're the Black Sabbath of the 21st century.
I'd say we need some stoner rock to get big if we want riffs- real riffs- to return to modern rock. C'mon, Goblin, channel the spirit of Saruman's Wish and unleash an epic rockin' track that no one will ever be able to get out of their head!
checked the song was "A colin-maillard" - can be listened on TH-cam. The break is probably not a rip-off but the main riff from Ange and the break here are very alike. Both equaly spooky.
i felt the same but it was my recent discovery of old school (i mean before 90's) made me fell in love again and trough them i was led to present day's great bands so dont give up mainstream in metal sucks for almost 20 years with few expections. But i can name dozens of underground (or well not so very famous) bands who are worthy heir of their predecessors
One of those accidental songs that become an absolute iconic masterpiece of the genre. As a metalhead for life this shit has exactly what I need. Peace to our brothers across the pond ripping the steel! 🤘
I am right there with ya brother. I just found out bout these fuckers in the last year or so, and I am soooo loving their shittt.
Shut up fool
Apparently, Orange Goblin is not an acceptable excuse for being late for work.
Hahahahaha
Hahaha. I'm doing exactly that!!! I'm supposed to be headed to work right now!!
Oh yes it is!
TaxiJim 71 LOL
seems hardcore drinkin due overtime
Saw them open up for Clutch last year. Man, I felt like I was witnessing something special.
@Jamie- I saw them open for Clutch too - was in Grand Rapids, Michigan at the Orbit Room - I had been listening to the Goblin for about 6-9 months prior, was stoked to see them live - then disappointed to see them live. It was likely the venues fault for poor sound.

Love this song. The guitar work is very Sabbathesque
Bass sound also like Geezer ! :)
Karl Downes modern day Black Sabbath?
Please do not offend Black Sabbath.yes this is very Sabbath, too much for me, this is a absolute lack of originality. you know i wonder if this kind of people think that they can fool the people who really listen music. this is just ridiculous man, sad.
Get the fuck out of here. It's original.
All of these bands from Earthless to Sleep are sabbathesque. Its stoner metal. Sludge. Good shit........ some better than sabbath.
I remember that back in school our English teacher gave us the assignment to write a review and I wrote one about this album! good times, good times.
For those who would be interested in the lyrics:
Chaos is calling, the kingdoms are falling
The planets collide in the sky
The old ones command, by a curse or by hand
That we've come to the end of our times
Thoughts paralysed, a red tide will rise
Dystopia seen through cephalopod eyes
Creatures reborn, from weird tales untold
Visions of horror, dimensions unknown to this world
Gods are descending, a force unrelenting
Cthulhu will rise from the sea
Turning blood red and awaking the dead
From their aeons of suffering sleep
Monoliths rise, to fiery skies
Empires dead in the shadow of flies
Serpent unwind, to torture and bind
No one survives the ultimate fall of mankind
Atlantis will rise!
The kraken alive!
These are fortean times!
No sanctuary, no hail mary,
No visionary... can save you from what has begun!
Infidels fall to their knees and they start
Praying to something that's never been there in their hearts
Searing white light from the guardians flesh
Azrael rising, wings of the angel of death
No sanctuary, no hail mary,
No visionary... can save you from what has begun!
This is leviathan!
Death of the sun!
Age of darkness has won.

One of best pieces of lyrics ever.

Ben Ward's voice gives me chills every single time I hear it. Every single time.
There's alot of processing on his voice. It's actually really rough when raw.
it's incredible isn't it
In the last 50 seconds or so i want to break things that are around me, fucking awesome way to close a kick ass song.
It's a pretty awesome ending!
I couldn't agree more, killer ending.
An underrated and incredible band.
Orange Goblin are awesome. how are these guys not more known?
Because the masses prefer shit music.
