When discussing the braking technique on a long steep downgrade, this video is old-school and outdated. Proper braking technique now is repeated strong pressure, then release as described in the DMV Manual. Page2-32, item 2.16.4, Proper Braking Technique. Besides that, this is an excellent video to prepare students to pass their General Knowledge Exam.
I like how this video shows examples of what it is talking about in visual. As a teacher, I'd say that's how people learn faster and better. It's hard to really be able to retain things in QUALITY fashion if we're just reading a bunch of verbose language like the book has. We need to be able to SEE what they're talking about especially when we're talking about something as precarious as truck driving. Thus, thanks for the video!
I recently took the New York CLD permit test and failed by a few questions. This video is dead on as far as providing the basic general knowledge Q&A from the test. Good upload!
