In this video, Did You Know Gaming takes a look at some facts, secrets and Easter eggs from Super Mario Odyssey. Odyssey was one of the first Nintendo Switch Games that entered development, starting in 2013. The game is notable for several new inclusions, such as a fully voiced theme song titled Jump up Super Star! Instead of being based on Super Mario 3D World, the game took more inspiration from Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine.

The N64 controller felt like it required three hands though.
not really. 90% of games on the 64 never had you touch the left side. while yes it was pointless to have three holds it never felt like you needed 3 hands

One of the reasons why I love Odyssey so much is that it brought back the one thing I felt Mario games has been desperately lacking since Galaxy 1, a sense of adventure. To me Odyssey brought back the sense of wonder, atmosphere & discovery when going through each kingdoms. To me it legit felt like I was actually going on an actual journey. The last Mario game where I felt like that was in Galaxy 1 & since then I've never had that feeling of going on an adventure with games like Galaxy 2, 3D Land, 3D World & especially with the soulless NSMB games. Odyssey is the first game since Galaxy 1 that actually brought back that feeling of me going on an adventure. All this sounds corny I know, but that's honestly how I felt when playing Odyssey.
Small note to add is Luigi U is amazing and is easily the best in the NSBU series

Looks like we have to thank Super Mario Odyssey for half of the Nintendo Switch’s features.
To be honest, this isn't entirely new. Nintendo has pretty much always tailored their consoles to the games they want to make.

That E10+ rating is ridiculous. Wii Play had a dedicated game mode for tank battles and it was still rated E.
I feel like E10+ is becoming the video game equivalent to the PG rating.

Heck Super Paper Mario has one of the darkest Mario plot lines ever and it's rated E.
It's only going to get worse as time goes on. What was E then is either E10 or T today what with social sensitivities and all that.

It's worth noting that there're more reasons as to why ESRB gave Odyssey a E10 rating, & most of the reasons has to do with the bosses. The Luncheon Kingdom's boss fight contained moments where the boss vomits on the floor & you had to swim through her vomit in order to reach the boss's weakpoints & ESRB finds found that to be pretty grotesque. ESRB also found the Ruined Dragon boss & the Mecha Wiggler boss to be frightening & intense for younger players & are also the reasons why they bumped up the rating to E10.
Holy crap, so if the Santa, Zombie, and 8-bit costumes got official releases post launch that means there's still a chance that a Link costume could be on the way!
Well there you go, we have Minecraft to thank for Mario Odyssey not having linear level design.

Kids are extremely intuitive with technology. When my sister was 6 she could navigate tablets better than my parents
Speed Grump Yeah, most kids can figure out how to use common devices. It reminds me how funny it is when someone thinks their kid's smart because they can figure out smartphones because it's like how people of the last generation thought their kids were smart because they figured out how to use a TV remote.
Which seems pretty stupid. Kids had no problem with the camera back in the 64 days. You think Nintendo would have known a long time ago kids could handle a free camera just fine.

These days, I have trouble maintaining interest in the games I play, so I end up kinda moving on some halfway in. Super Mario Odyssey, however, I've beaten twice, it's that good.

Something i found: in the broodal dialouge for the snow kingdom (i think), one of them mentions bowser not having fond memories of cakes. In super mario RPG, one of the bosses is a giant living cake that you fight while you have access to bowser. *_COINCIDENCE? I THINK N O T ! ! !_*
EDIT: it can also be a reference to bowsers cake"obsession" in super mario galaxy 2

I think it’s probably a reference to Galaxy 2, where Bowser says: “My huge cake... Never got a slice...” right before he falls into a black hole at the end.
He says that Bowser loves cake, not that he hates them. It’s a Galaxy 2 reference.

I love Mario Odyssey. Its so full of adventures and things to do. There are many capturable things and the music is perfect.

According to Censored Gaming, CERO "B" rating was cause by Mario's nipples. And PEGI 12 rating was cause by "Realistic looking dragon". ESRB rating reason is mentioned in the video.

Honestly I thought Mario and Luigi were Gnomes or Dwarves more relating to Fairies than Primates like Humans with their short and stubby appearance with large round noses, large facial hair and their "WAHOO IM SO HAPPY ALL THE TIME" attidude.
Were as Wario and Waluigi more resembles that of Goblins with their pointy noses, pointy ears and their nasty nature.
