I have followed Bob Dylan for nearly 50 years now. I saw him once in concert in the 1980s. Sometimes he makes you comfortable and happy, then he makes you restless and angry. But he always touches us to the core of our being, and that is what great art is all about. My world would be a lesser world without the music and the art of Bob Dylan.

i agree. But it's a nonsense they gave a Nobel prize to him. His verses does not fit to a book. try just to read it. It does not mean much. But poetry in music is not just meaning of words. the voice has meaning. Intonation. Melody. emotions that can be read from the music.... You know, Metalica has very profound lyrics. More profound than Bob Dylan. But of course, their image can't win a Nobel prize... Anyway, The Nobell Comitee often makes some pretty absurd decisions.... There was a musician in my country whose lyrics could fit a book, and sound profound just by reading.... Of course, it's not in English. Does Nobel Comitee observe the work of non-english musicians? No. So, this Nobel's prise was not in global level

Too bad we didn't meet around 45 years ago and share our appreciation of Dylan's music, then fall in love and get married and have three kids who called us ma and pa and then we'd have a bitter, painful divorce and make cathartic albums over our experience. Oh, wait, it's been done before. Maybe we should be glad things happened the way they did.

Several years ago In a far too rare deep conversation with my son, On the day I turned 19 he was my present, He's now going on 45, A man could not have gotten a better birthday present. I was kind of apologizing to him for how I failed him in certain ways (I was a single father for most of his early life) As we talked and tried to explain our feelings he hit me with a good one, "you turned me on to Bob Dylan, what more could a father do for his son". We laughed and hugged one another, both with tears running down our face.
A word of advice if your child is born on your birthday don't give him your name. It seems that people and computers can't comprehend the 19 years difference in our age.

Dylan's voice never ceases to give me chills, I was brought up in the late 90s and his music still connects with my friends and I. It will connect and touch many generations. That is the power of music. It will bring us all together and be there most when we need it. I wanna throw one of my friends some love, we've been through a lot together and our love of Dylan and Hendrix has been a connecting factor. He's a music producer now and he's just released a cover of All Along the Watchtower. Try searching Lonely Gimmick - All Along the Watchtower. He's respected the original but still made it his own. I'm honestly really impressed with his talent.
I agree with you and feel the same as you. I was born in the late 50s, and I met Dylan when I was 12. Since then he has been my favorite singer along with Van Morrison. His particular voice, his way to express the feelings, the thoughts he conveyed, all of it made of him a special being, a genuine artist, for me and many of my that time friends.
This isn't Bob Dylan - it's one of the many bland covers that get you to click by not making it clear who's singing.

@@rosangelamariadefreitasfre1378 Primero, hay que tener un muy buen dominio del idioma inglés y asi y todo es muy dificil de entender lo que Dylan quiere transmitir porque muchas expresiones son tipicas del inglés y en español no las tenemos, un ej. "like a Rolling Stone", que significa como "Piedra rodando", una respuesta a su pregunta de "Como te sientes?" Luego viene la necesidad de pensar en las palabras y escuchandolo a Dylan cantando uno no puede pensar en la profundidad de sus palabras. Finalmente y no sin menor importancia, el Premio Nobel le fue otorgado por sus poesias y no por sus composiciones musicales tal es asi que su manuscrito de "Like a Rolling Stone" fue vendido en 2015 en un remate publico por 2 millones de dolares. Es un poema escrito en 10 paginas.

We gave our teenage son a guitar for the Holidays; we traveled by plane to meet up with extended family, so we bought a few guitar picks and a Christmas tree ornament as Christmas tree present; bc presenting a guitar while traveling was problematic. Our son is a very thoughtful, introspective guy who asks questions. So I am sending him this link/album to inspire him, with his new guitar, which we presented to him when we got back home after vacation. 🙏
