Melancholy Bucolic Kioni Ithaca Greece 1981 - Super 8mm Film

Before tourism became a major facet of the Ionian Islands, there was a different atmosphere. This short film aims to capture the essence of a summer without mass tourism where the island still belongs to the locals and where the beauty of the village of Kioni on the island of Ithaca, is met with a somewhat different feel than what tourists today will discover.
This was filmed on the now obsolete Super 8mm Kodachrome 40 film, the camera used was Canon 1014e. The film, having lost none of its original colour or quality due to the integrity of Kodachrome, was scanned to digital in 2018 in a Frame by Frame process at high definition to capture as much of the original detail as possible.
Πριν ο τουρισμός αποτέλεσε μια σημαντική πτυχή των Ιονίων Νήσων, υπήρχε μια διαφορετική ατμόσφαιρα.
