Hello there, I just cut (few minutes ago) 2 tinder tubes out of stainless drinking straw - 2pcs in the lenght of 9cm. My wick is cotton rope just so thick to come through the straw. Thanks for your video. Greetings from the Czech Republic.
What you just demonstrated was termed a flemish twist string. In archery we usually wax the strands before we twist them up. Beeswax is one of the best to use. Toilet ring wax is excellent !
Thanks. With a little thinking and willing to try, you’ll be surprised how easy it is to survival using simple things se all have laying around the house n garage.

Vielen herzlichen Dank! Das war sehr gut erklärt! Vor allem die Nahaufnahme wie die Schnur gedreht wird. Danke!
Exelent. Clear instructions. I have paused and watched and paused and made my own. Thank you.
Great video. Innovative method. I like it, keep it up.
I like the metal straw idea. Good job!
To speed things up, don't bother with the boiling water. Just melt the wax over low directly on the stove.
Be very careful Be very very careful
Very informative! Thank you!
Nice - I saw another vid where he does Vaseline then wax. It worked great with flint and steel.
Do you mean a metal striker and a rock (flint and steel) or a ferrocerrium rod and a scraper?
@@charlesmckinney ferrocerium rod and a scraper - The addition of Vaseline seemed to help the cord ignite very quickly.
Awesome!!
