Great video. I have a CDL-A and current medical card with hazmat and tanker endorsments. I have been driving an 18 wheeler for a couple of years. I want to get into the expediting cargo van business. Does having a CDL-A license with hazmat give me an advantage in this business? I need to use my hazmat. Are there a lot of companies looking for van drivers with hazmat?
It is hard to predict because it depends which locations you book loads from. But in general if you want to get consistent sprinter van loads after each bid ask the brokers the current low bids and decide if you could match or beat that current low bid. That is my take. Thank you.
Thanks for the video , I was struggling to this dispatch, I still don’t know how to bid , once you copy broker email the what next ? How should I send e-mail to broker ? Thanks
Paul, that is a good question. Once you see a load you want to bid on, copy the entire posting and paste it into you email browser. Then copy the broker email address and paste it to the send to line on the new message section. Write a message to the broker how much you want to bid and what type of truck you have and how far out you are from the shipper. Then hit send that it. If the broker likes your bid he/she will contact you.
You are right. I don’t think there is another way to access. Have thought about getting a dispatch who can dispatch you untill you get a fleet of 5 to access?
At the moment I do not know but please google around I am sure you will find a good dispatcher. Rates depend on many factors like location, distance from shipper and more. From my experience rates range from $1.30 to 84cts best and worst cases respectively.
Hello sir. Thank you for this video. I have one ford transit cargo van. Can you tell me if I can use this on my own? Or do I need..many vans? Do I need a dot/Mc..and do I need special insurance for this? I live in GA. I would like to hire you as my dispatcher.
You can run on your own DOT/MC with 1 cargo so long as you maintain the minimum commrmercial insurance requirements of $750 CSL along with the cargo insurance. This insurance limits is mandatory to maintain active status for your company. I am a professional insurance agent I can help you with insurance needs in GA. Just let me know. Once you are done with this process then you will be ready for dispatch. Thank you. Please share my videos.
@@SONVLOG426 In your previous response you stated you needed a minimum of 5 trucks under the same insurance, but now you're saying he can run under his own DOT/MC with 1 cargo. Did something change since your last post or am I confused by your responses?
@@michellestreeter504 The case applies if the 1 cargo van is leased to a company that has already it's own DOT and has sylectus subscription. In other words they can be dispatch under a written lease agreement so long as they have their own DOT.
