Smriti is struggling to score run a ball in powerplay, no power, no different range of Shots, If you play dot balls in powerplay than how can you chase targets like 150- 160.
All said and done, i still don't see any other team giving Aussies a tough fight, like the way we did and have done in the past as well. Pls check England is out of WC as well.. NZ match cost us badly though.. i am disappointed as well, but will continue to support our team and captain
Our womens team in the last two World cups be it odi or t20... hadn't defeated any SENA side...and obviously haven't reached the playoffs...but before that they were at least qualifying for playoffs it is like that support has increased but performances has dipped quite incredibly...and they are like shit on the field...they give easy 1s and 2s drop at least one catch every match....no improvement from last 2 yrs and smriti should be dropped from the squad she never perform in important matches from last 2 3 years she have the same problem of getting out on any kind of spin which is pathetic for a indian batter...she only plays on backfoot and gets lbw or bowled...she doesn't show any improvement and it looks like she thinks that she can't be dropped she has taken the place for granted...give chances to youngsters like yastika bhatia in place of her
And other asian teams don't have resources like our womens team u have to accept it, very less support, very less funding, no leagues etc so it acceptable that they perform average, we didn't complained when our womens team don't have good resources or fundings.....but now everything is almost equals to mens cricket that's why it is unacceptable to be that pathetic in front of good teams, some players like smriti, shefali, deepti, richa have taken their places for granted, smriti and shefali not showing consistency and having same weakness from last 2 years and deepti and richa are like buffaloes on the field no fitness or anything I am not saying that they need to be slim etc but they get tired in scoring 50 runs so whats the point of taking them in a team... Hard calls had to be made to drop these star players, yes we will loose many matches but a standard will be set....
Problem lies with our bench strength. We unfortunately don't have that backup so i think players take things for granted. Its like India back in late 1990s where we relied heavily on Tendulkar. Things will take time

Change the coach, put someone like Gautam Gambir. All players will fall in line. If you look at India playing from Asia cup, their body language and approach to the game is like it was working for Govt job with life long security irrespective of the result. I remember in T20 game with south Africa, series they were chasing 190 and both Jemima and Harman Preet remained not out and scored only 170+ despite being in the grease for more than 12 hours. Just imagine India losing a T20 due to run rate not achieved with Surya kumar and Hardik Pandeya at the crease not out. Mind boggling attitude. The Asia cup and that T20 game with south Africa was eye opener for Head Coach on the approach of senior players in the team but he was happily sleeping at the wheels. Looks like for him also it was Govt job with no threat for layoff and result was the last thing in mind. In fact Radha Yadha made all the difference in last 2 games of T20 world cup by her super fielding and catching else they would have lost to Sir Lanka itself. Running between the wickets is so pathetic ( Harman preet Kaur, Shefali, RIcha Gosh and Mandanna looks like they are strolling or Jogging in the park while running between the wickets) , In fielding they are in competition with Pakistan teams for top place. Captain ship is very poor in terms of 11 selection as well as bowling changes and field setup. No strategy and no game plan. Just a bunch of 11 jokers trying to play a game for the sake of it. This team can never beat Australia or England in any tournament for rest of their life. Just build a new team with good team work and top fielding and bowling unit in mind. Total effort should be on fitness. Need 4-5 good all rounders and 4 power hitters in batting with good coach like Gautam Gambir caliber. current player are so inconsistent that even weather prediction is easy than betting on their win.
Mostly right, but a few corrections. Harman and Jemi are your best runners. Don't club them with Shafali, Richa and Jemi. 2nd we don't or say can't play that agressively bcz we don't have that batting depth. Men's team has six hitters playing at 7 or 8. Here, only Harman and Richa can hit sixes if needed. And for the same reason, they also have to guard their wicket. If India had batters coming at 7-8, they would too play more aggressively

Jemima is good at running between the wickets but she is poor in taking catches and fumbles in fielding. Not a clean fielder of the ball. We do not need live wire in field but professionals in the field who do their basics right. By seeing you others need to follow your template we need such influencers. On aggressiveness. What Harman Kaur was doing by taking 1 run of the first ball of 20th over when 14 runs required. She could have played all the 6 balls and lost the game and nobody would have criticised her. What was Richa doing by taking a single where was none and challenging one of the best Aussie fielder Liechfiled who has 99% recorded of hitting direct wickets considering Richa is a slow runner and need to run after hitting the ball. If Richa was a great hitter why she had to give strike to Harman Preet Kaur who looked tired and out of stamina by then. Not only that, inorder to win we needed only four and sixes as the equation. This itself shows there is no thinking, strategy or plan when playing. Just play like for the sake of playing with inclination for results. Richa is such a pathetic keeper that any other team would hvae dropped for not doing the work for which is in the team in first place. Neither she was upto the job of power hitter for which actually she is in the team currently and not wicket keeping. What are you going to do by keeping wickets at the end by losing matches at knock out phases. Will you put pickle of it. 2 times Harman Preet Kaur rotated the strike in 20th over despite she knew she was the only who could clear the fence if there was any chance of winning. This kind of attitude they had shown every time in past many matches and it was wake up call long back. I will only blame the Head coach as he was sleeping on the wheel for last 2- 3 years. We don't need celebrities but need team work and professionals who will learn their mistakes thick and fast and do the role and job for his position in the team. If you want to know how a team is to be build, learn the history of Clive Lloyd on team building which dominated for 2 decades by decimating the likes of Dennis Lille and Jeff Thomsun. Need Passion . determination and Hardwork in sports to succeed when you get opportunity. Accepting one's mistake is first step towards it. You cannot make a Gavaskar by paying money but you can pay money once Gavaskar is born. changing captains and reshuffling will not work with same players unless you identify the real issues. and fix them.
Why does India fail in the WC repeatedly? India have reached the semifinals & finals in the previous WCs, and we are a competitive good team. Even the match against Australia was a close game. What we lacked was the basic skillset to bat on UAE wickets. It's not an excuse but our girls went to UAE for the first time and their style of playing is different because of their physical limitations. So, is this going to be the case forever? Obviously, we could and will improve with time. First, let's check the present structure of our team. 5 batters & not a single bowler in them who could bowl in a tight situation. That is luxury. (The coach did assure us before the start that three out of the five could bowl & bowl good. Who were they?) So the T20 team unbalance begins from the top. Out of these top 5, only one skillful scientific power hitter is Herman. (We have only one power hitter in real sense in the top 5) We know that Smriti is more of a timer than the power hitter. Yes she could hit the ball but her core game is about timing the gaps. So is Jemmy who surprisingly hits the ball consistently hard at about the strike rate of 130-50. Shafali , to me is not a power hitter, though she hits it big. Watch her shoulders and we see, she extracts the power from her wrists. No complete bat swing with the use of the shoulders. That is her issue. Power hitting with the use of wrists only will make you vulnerable of slight mistiming and caught in the deep. Her technical lapses are also visible when she perishes in the ugliest way of all batters. Smriti has some 5 strokes in her inventory. Cover drive, square cut, pickup pull, and slog over midwicket. She needs to develop a Sweep, Hook, on drive, backfoot thump and drives in the V. Only Herman can hit hard into the arc. Four of our five bowlers are supposedly allrounders. they never get batting rotation, even against smallest teams like UAE or Nepal. In fact, the top order uses these games to get in to some form and seal their place in the team. Next against smaller nations, use Deepti, Pooja, Radha, Shreyanka as a surprise No.3 or 4. (Look how Australia rotates them) Unfortunately our franchise cricket is useless as far as converting our bottom order into proper allrounders. (This is the difference betn the WBBL & WPL) Find the probable replacements for each number ready in the wings. We have Yastika & Priya Punia as openers. Now add Upasana Yadav in the list with existing Shweta and others. In the middle order we see Tejal Hasabnis, Ragavi Bisht with Hemlatha, Kiran and others who could hit the ball hard with power. Give them a proper role in the team. Like Pooja, Amanjyot, Deepti, Raghavi, Shreyanka, Radha are batting allrounders. Prepare them that way. As of now, WPL is useless to get these players a proper game exposure. Priya did not even picked by any franchise. Stop players claiming for two spots in the team. An opener could bat in the middle or a middle order can be an opener at any given situation in the T20. Stop that. Make two or three specialists of a particular spot. Finally, we are not a Nation with athletic background. Especially the girls seldom play outdoor sports. Women Cricketers usually start their sport after 7th or 8th standard. Issue regarding their fitness will continue to hunt us. We need an education system that gives equal importance to sports and includes it's grade in to overall grading system. Then we will see women players with a complete athletic physique in the likes of Lanning, Perry, Sophie, Nats etc.

Why are Asian teams struggled in this (or any) T20 WC? Obviously, the level of the domestic cricket in Pak, India, SL & BD is not up to the standards of SENA countries. But so does WI. So, it's not about SENA countries only. WI threw out England in style. It's not that their standard is raised overnight. This is not the only reason, and the reason must be somewhere else. We shall bifurcate the issue in two parts. First Asian Countries and then India. Utmost natural issue is, the physical structure and build of Asian players is half the size of SENA + WI players. This's always going to be the case. The nature of the wickets & the outfield in UAE ensured that the teams with the greatest number of power hitters will win the race. It is proven by now. WI qualified purely in their power hitting game. If not, the match was moving towards the England team in the last few minutes. The wickets in UAE called for hard, flat power hitting into the gaps and accumulate maximum runs with strong legs. Australia won against us not with the showers of fours & sixes. They ran their way towards victory. Watch WI or SA for the sake and they hit every ball hard in the gaps to sprint for single & doubles. Asian teams lack this skill as they are habitual of placing or timing the ball into the gaps for runs. So, I feel it'll be little harsh on the Asian players to blame them for what they physically don’t possess. They need to change their batting approach for the power hitting game and acquire the required strength & stamina to accumulate the runs, the hardest possible way. Now they try to lift the ball in the air, to compensate for this lack of power and perish. Need to develop the flat power hitting skillset in the nets. It's possible.
She has been criticized because she is the captain of the team. Let her get down from the captaincy then she will not be criticized after the loss or if get knocked out of the tournament...

Change the coach, put someone like Gautam Gambir. All players will fall in line. If you look at India playing from Asia cup, their body language and approach to the game is like it was working for Govt job with life long security irrespective of the result. I remember in T20 game with south Africa, series they were chasing 190 and both Jemima and Harman Preet remained not out and scored only 170+ despite being in the grease for more than 12 hours. Just imagine India losing a T20 due to run rate not achieved with Surya kumar and Hardik Pandeya at the crease not out. Mind boggling attitude. The Asia cup and that T20 game with south Africa was eye opener for Head Coach on the approach of senior players in the team but he was happily sleeping at the wheels. Looks like for him also it was Govt job with no threat for layoff and result was the last thing in mind. In fact Radha Yadha made all the difference in last 2 games of T20 world cup by her super fielding and catching else they would have lost to Sir Lanka itself. Running between the wickets is so pathetic ( Harman preet Kaur, Shefali, RIcha Gosh and Mandanna looks like they are strolling or Jogging in the park while running between the wickets) , In fielding they are in competition with Pakistan teams for top place. Captain ship is very poor in terms of 11 selection as well as bowling changes and field setup. No strategy and no game plan. Just a bunch of 11 jokers trying to play a game for the sake of it. This team can never beat Australia or England in any tournament for rest of their life. Just build a new team with good team work and top fielding and bowling unit in mind. Total effort should be on fitness. Need 4-5 good all rounders and 4 power hitters in batting with good coach like Gautam Gambir caliber. current player are so inconsistent that even weather prediction is easy than betting on their win.
Mostly right, but a few corrections.
Harman and Jemi are your best runners. Don't club them with Shafali, Richa and Jemi.
2nd we don't or say can't play that agressively bcz we don't have that batting depth. Men's team has six hitters playing at 7 or 8. Here, only Harman and Richa can hit sixes if needed. And for the same reason, they also have to guard their wicket. If India had batters coming at 7-8, they would too play more aggressively
@@Adi-oc2hd let me correct you I have not mentioned Jemima for running between the wickets but Mandana . Jemima is good at running between the wickets but she is poor in taking catches and fumbles in fielding. Not a clean fielder of the ball. We do not need live wire in field but professionals in the field who do their basics right. By seeing you others need to follow your template we need such influencers.
On aggressiveness. What Harman Kaur was doing by taking 1 run of the first ball of 20th over when 14 runs required. She could have played all the 6 balls and lost the game and nobody would have criticised her.
What was Richa doing by taking a single where was none and challenging one of the best Aussie fielder Liechfiled who has 99% recorded of hitting direct wickets considering Richa is a slow runner and need to run after hitting the ball. If Richa was a great hitter why she had to give strike to Harman Preet Kaur who looked tired and out of stamina by then. Not only that, inorder to win we needed only four and sixes as the equation. This itself shows there is no thinking, strategy or plan when playing. Just play like for the sake of playing with inclination for results. Richa is such a pathetic keeper that any other team would hvae dropped for not doing the work for which is in the team in first place. Neither she was upto the job of power hitter for which actually she is in the team currently and not wicket keeping.
What are you going to do by keeping wickets at the end by losing matches at knock out phases. Will you put pickle of it. 2 times Harman Preet Kaur rotated the strike in 20th over despite she knew she was the only who could clear the fence if there was any chance of winning.
This kind of attitude they had shown every time in past many matches and it was wake up call long back. I will only blame the Head coach as he was sleeping on the wheel for last 2- 3 years.
We don't need celebrities but need team work and professionals who will learn their mistakes thick and fast and do the role and job for his position in the team.

Why does India fail in the WC repeatedly?
India have reached the semifinals & finals in the previous WCs, and we are a competitive good team. Even the match against Australia was a close game. What we lacked was the basic skillset to bat on UAE wickets. It's not an excuse but our girls went to UAE for the first time and their style of playing is different because of their physical limitations.
So, is this going to be the case forever?
Obviously, we could and will improve with time.
First, let's check the present structure of our team. 5 batters & not a single bowler in them who could bowl in a tight situation. That is luxury. (The coach did assure us before the start that three out of the five could bowl & bowl good. Who were they?) So the T20 team unbalance begins from the top. Out of these top 5, only one skillful scientific power hitter is Herman. (We have only one power hitter in real sense in the top 5) We know that Smriti is more of a timer than the power hitter. Yes she could hit the ball but her core game is about timing the gaps. So is Jemmy who surprisingly hits the ball consistently hard at about the strike rate of 130-50.
Shafali , to me is not a power hitter, though she hits it big. Watch her shoulders and we see, she extracts the power from her wrists. No complete bat swing with the use of the shoulders. That is her issue. Power hitting with the use of wrists only will make you vulnerable of slight mistiming and caught in the deep. Her technical lapses are also visible when she perishes in the ugliest way of all batters.
Smriti has some 5 strokes in her inventory. Cover drive, square cut, pickup pull, and slog over midwicket. She needs to develop a Sweep, Hook, on drive, backfoot thump and drives in the V. Only Herman can hit hard into the arc.
Four of our five bowlers are supposedly allrounders. they never get batting rotation, even against smallest teams like UAE or Nepal. In fact, the top order uses these games to get in to some form and seal their place in the team. Next against smaller nations, use Deepti, Pooja, Radha, Shreyanka as a surprise No.3 or 4. (Look how Australia rotates them) Unfortunately our franchise cricket is useless as far as converting our bottom order into proper allrounders. (This is the difference betn the WBBL & WPL)
Find the probable replacements for each number ready in the wings. We have Yastika & Priya Punia as openers. Now add Upasana Yadav in the list with existing Shweta and others. In the middle order we see Tejal Hasabnis, Ragavi Bisht with Hemlatha, Kiran and others who could hit the ball hard with power. Give them a proper role in the team. Like Pooja, Amanjyot, Deepti, Raghavi, Shreyanka, Radha are batting allrounders. Prepare them that way.
As of now, WPL is useless to get these players a proper game exposure. Priya did not even picked by any franchise. Stop players claiming for two spots in the team. An opener could bat in the middle or a middle order can be an opener at any given situation in the T20. Stop that. Make two or three specialists of a particular spot.
Finally, we are not a Nation with athletic background. Especially the girls seldom play outdoor sports. Women Cricketers usually start their sport after 7th or 8th standard. Issue regarding their fitness will continue to hunt us. We need an education system that gives equal importance to sports and includes it's grade in to overall grading system. Then we will see women players with a complete athletic physique in the likes of Lanning, Perry, Sophie, Nats etc.

Upto 2020 world cup our performance is so good we reached semis by vrat ng sena countries after it is pathetic do not know which final 11 play ,to many changes in bowling department , fielding is pathetic ,confused decsions ,poor depth vowling ,mostly more money got onto their head

Why are Asian teams struggled in this (or any) T20 WC?
Obviously, the level of the domestic cricket in Pak, India, SL & BD is not up to the standards of SENA countries. But so does WI. So, it's not about SENA countries only. WI threw out England in style. It's not that their standard is raised overnight.
This is not the only reason, and the reason must be somewhere else.
We shall bifurcate the issue in two parts.
First Asian Countries and then India. Utmost natural issue is, the physical structure and build of Asian players is half the size of SENA + WI players. This's always going to be the case.
The nature of the wickets & the outfield in UAE ensured that the teams with the greatest number of power hitters will win the race. It is proven by now. WI qualified purely in their power hitting game. If not, the match was moving towards the England team in the last few minutes.
The wickets in UAE called for hard, flat power hitting into the gaps and accumulate maximum runs with strong legs. Australia won against us not with the showers of fours & sixes. They ran their way towards victory. Watch WI or SA for the sake and they hit every ball hard in the gaps to sprint for single & doubles. Asian teams lack this skill as they are habitual of placing or timing the ball into the gaps for runs.
So, I feel it'll be little harsh on the Asian players to blame them for what they physically don’t possess. They need to change their batting approach for the power hitting game and acquire the required strength & stamina to accumulate the runs, the hardest possible way. Now they try to lift the ball in the air, to compensate for this lack of power and perish. Need to develop the flat power hitting skillset in the nets. It's possible.
She has been criticized because she is the captain of the team. Let her get down from the captaincy then she will not be criticized after the loss or if get knocked out of the tournament...
