      @@johndoeferson1746 one example is when police were looking for an older white man, and arrested a young black man, keeping him in jail for days before realizing their mistake. When he got out he lost his job, couldn’t pay bills or get car out of impound, and things cascaded from there
      Police are revenue collectors, which can destroy people financially for small infractions that they have the discretion to pursue or let go. Especially in a country where most people live paycheck to paycheck or are one medical issue away from bankruptcy.
      Also they can be trigger happy causing physical harm to innocent people, and ego driven in their use of force. Uvalde was an unfortunate but illustrative example of top down department failures and how that affects innocent citizens. Standing around for an hour while children bleed out, arresting the parents outside trying to do the job they aren’t, and then targeting a mother who saved a class of kids because she spoke to the media and wasn’t praising their inaction

    It's no secret that Mesa PD has some of the most out of control LEO's in the country. And their leadership endorses their behavior. Why is it that when they commit crimes it is treated as an internal investigation and policy violations but, when anyone else does it they treat it like a criminal investigation and they go to jail. The best way to avoid jail for your crimes in this country is to just get a job working for the state, and they will do everything they can to get you off...

We all know that if someone strikes another person and renders another person unconscious it is not a simple assault but a felony that can carry a felony charge. These 3 are all facing serious charges while on duty? A predator is a predator even if they wear a badge and should be treated as such! They need to understand the importance of what they have done and preach. Do the crime do the time. Bet they can choke on those now. Hopefully the punishment will be quickly and true and they lose their pension and eventually everything they love and hold dear!

    Mesa PD is notorious for treating people badly. They charged my friend with trespassing, aggravated assault and attempted burglary while he was having a smoke on the side of a grocery building with a friend. He was in a Safeway parking lot next to a nail salon. They didn’t read him any rights, didn’t tell him what he did wrong, they just immediately jumped on him and cuffed him, shoved him into the ground and mistreated him. He has no prior record but they sure are trying to give him one. A kid who has stayed out of the system put into it by crooked cops. That’s creating a problem not solving it. He’s getting a civil rights lawyer and fighting it. Thanks Mesa PD!

    • @jquinones8654
      @jquinones8654 ปีที่แล้ว

      The taxpayers are not paying the pension. Taxpayers pay for matching the officer's mandatory contribution while the officer was still employed. Once the officer is no longer working there, the taxpayers are no longer contributing to the officer's retirement. Contributions to pension funds are invested and managed for growth so the pension plan, not the taxpayers, can make the lifetime payments.
      But I agree that what they did was disgusting and they got off way too easy.

    This is no surprise given there are some rude egotistic employees in the Mesa police department from dispatch to those on the street. But many are on the job for the right reasons. Many are not. If you want a good look at blatant unprofessionalism from Mesa's officer's take a look on TH-cam at some first amendment auditor's and cop watcher's video's. There are many of them in Mesa. Direct D and Spittin Cobra to name a few. Be sure to pay close attention to the cops negative reactions to being filmed that by the way is a first amendment right. Mesa's judges refuse to allow people to act in their own defense which is a right. Laws state clearly one can film and record their case's in the court room but Mesa's judges are denying that right. These folks filming are on public property such as a sidewalk and many have been arrested for filming in public that ends with charges being dropped. Most of them that do have a confrontation with police say nothing to the officer's at first but when they do respond they are only responding to unlawful orders being given. Be sure to observe closely in the video's what Mesa's police says and does to the homeless and how they disrespect them. The video's clearly show Mesa officers soliciting a trespass from businesses like McDonald's or Circle K. That is not legal. To be trespassed one has to be first asked to leave by the business or property owner. Everyone likes good cops. It's the bad ones that need to go.

    For those commenting about QUALIFIED IMMUNITY, it does not apply in any of these cases. None were protected by qualified immunity. Qualified immunity protects an officer who was acting within the course and scope of their duty and is accused of violating constitutional rights.
    Also, regarding REVOKING the PENSION.... there is no precedent for taking away retirement benefits that a fired employee paid into. If an employee with a 401K plan gets fired from a company, their 401K isn't revoked. If someone commits a crime, their Social Security isn't revoked. The taxpayers are also not paying the pension.
    I bring this up, because so many spin their wheels on pointless or irrelevant arguements when the energy should be on areas where immediate change and accountability could and should be occurring. In my opinion, these officers should have been fired, not allowed to resign. They should not be hired by other departments even when they move out of state. They should be prosecuted for any criminal actvity. They should not receive retirement badges or retired officer identification. They should not be granted CCW permits due to their prior law enforcement status. They should apply for CCW as a citizen and be granted or denied as such. The taxpayers should not have to continue paying medical benefits as they would an employee who resigned/retired in good standing.
    Lastly, the reporter is awesome for seeking them out and confrontng them. That takes guts.
