Hello Mr. Inder P Singh, I watched your video series on OSS-BSS system. Very descriptive sir. Explanation of the concepts were illustrative and clear. Doubt: Do we have Order management in OSS as well? I thought it comes in the BSS part. Thanks so much. Good day!
Hello @JayC - Thank you for your awesome comment 🙏 You are right, order management is in BSS. However, the technical fulfillment of each customer order (e.g. installation, provisioning, service activation) is tracked in the OSS. In fact, Order management is one of the two main functions of the OSS. BSS and OSS are integrated. Please view details in my OSS video at th-cam.com/video/ZGol3hTzd3g/w-d-xo.html Thanks again for your comment and question!
@sumathi4kannan - Sure! In OSS (Operational Support Systems) in the telecom domain, SMARTS means Systems Management ARTS. It's a skill set or tool used for network management and monitoring. SMARTS tool provides a solution for network topology visualization, fault management and performance management. It works in real-time and helps you arrive at the root cause of the issues quickly.
I worked for incident management but not clear is CS or fault management OSS. Can you clear. Post new orders, any issues in the application where we monitor order status - due to system fault or struck orders resolution coordinating with stakeholders, and dev team and process designers if needed.
@ChillSearch HowTo - Yes, Fault Management is a function of OSS. View my OSS video at th-cam.com/video/ZGol3hTzd3g/w-d-xo.html Basically, OSS deals with the technical aspects and BSS deals with the business aspects. If there are any issues in service delivery post a new order, OSS and BSS systems communicate with each other to provide new order status to the customer.
Hi Jagadish, I don't have BSS testing interview questions at present. You may want to search CRM testing interview questions because BSS deals with the telco's relationships with their customers (commercial issues, notifications, change of plan etc.)

So is it like Customer Care falls under both?
@Vaibhav Mane - Correct, OSS Customer Care for technical issues and BSS Customer Care for billing issues.
