    I have a doubt for a long time after seeing the projected map of Corridor 4. Its mentioned as Porur Jn - Alapakkam Jn - Karambakkam. Actually it is Porur Jn - Karambakkam - Alapakkam Jn in order. By the way the distance between Porur Jn & Alapakkam Jn is approx 1.3 km. How come 3 stations in less than 1.3 km?

      The distance is roughly 1.55km. From Light house the chainage of Karambakkam is 15.686km. Next Alappakkam is at 16.245km. The Porur junction is at 17.243km. During execution minor changes may happen.

    Very nice Video bro.. One point about the distance between stations..
    In Corridor 1 (Airport to Wimco Nagar), Nanganallur Road to Meenambakkam (2.3 KM) is the biggest distance between stations and AG-DMS to Thousand Lights is 2 KM.
    They could have planned for more stations along the mount road.. But perhaps due to the land acquisition costs they reduced the stations..

      Yes bro, you are right about it, also in corridor 1 between Nanganallur Road to Meenambakkam, initially the Nanganallur Road Metro was to be built near Trident Hotel (Shanti Petrol Bunk) and current Nanganallur Road Metro was to be named as Officer's Training Academy Station, due to objection by Airport officials they changed the 2.3km distance as underground instead of elevated, was amused due to this decison, although In Delhi Metro it is elevated only.

      @@mageshwarmarupeddisuresh1881 It was changed because of the Chennai airport's runway alignment. If it were to be built near shanti petrol bunk, the distance between the run way mouth and the metro viaduct would be only 350 mts which is impossible to clear for any commercial flight. So operation would be restricted on the primary runway of one of India's busiest airports. That was the reason the entire stretch was made underground. In Delhi's case, the metro line from the west comes in and ends at the terminal which is quite a distance away from the runway. The line from the east comes directly to terminal 3 which is between the parallel runways and doesn't obstruct any operation which was why the elevated structure was approved.

    But this is a old update. Thia update was rolled out already ..But building 128 stations for 118 kms is 💯% rediculous. And corridor 4- Porur to powerhouse is absolutely waste. This is to screw money 🙏

      @@deepakdkrishna1854 As a resident of Porur for the past 40 years..i know the pain of travelling to Vadapalani/Cmbt/Egmore/Central. Yeah we the commuters will face lot of nuisance coz of that. Even peoples living in Anna Nagar faced hell during the UG constructions. No pain, No gain.

    Chennai is not a city like Mumbai Tonga e 100+ Metro stations.. already loss making metro services in Chennai.. again will be more burden to manage operations and expenses.
    Improve more bus transportation and logistics services daily bus passes than politics in transportation systems,
    60000cr who's money tax paid collections.

      Metro is definitely not for the poor. The main motive of Metro is to make Car owners(middle/middle upper class) to travel comfortably and to discourage them on the roads driving cars. That's the reason they air conditioned all the coaches. If not, you will have coaches like in local EMU trains from Beach to Velachery

      @@blackadam6468 the same mrts which when proposed and built got negative feedback saying why its needed and it had low footfall at initial times as the city developed gradually mrts and suburban are now the heart of chennai's transportation .metro likely will need some time but large number of commuters (like me ) still prefer a safe ride than a cheapeer one [suburban hanging near the doors : ( ]. So gradually metro will also be a regular commuting public transport for chennai
