The Bleach Movie That Became Canon...

- Bleach the Movie: Memories of Nobody is the first movie in the Bleach series, and it is the only movie that is canon. Senna is the main character introduced in Memories of Nobody, and after one of the latest episodes in TYBW it is pretty much confirmed that Senna and the events of Memories of Nobody are canon. This also confirms the Valley of Screams to be canon and this was proven during TYBW when Ichigo says he has visited the Valley of Screams himself, which is only seen in Bleach the Movie 1. I review the Bleach movie and where it could potentially fit in the Bleach timeline while showing Thousand-Year Blood War and statements from Ichigo to support why this movie is canon. I will show why more people need to watch Bleach Memories of Nobody and why it's PEAK!

Fun fact: At the end of chapter 627 (the chapter covering the events of episode 32 of the TYBW arc), Kubo says to go watch the first movie for more info on Valleys of Screams. Also, the 2nd Keyword card of the episode states that Ichigo “once visited the Valley of Screams after getting involved with the Shinenju during an incident.”
So the movie and its events are confirmed to be fully canon.
Thank you, from what I've read online I still saw people arguing against the movie but this seems to pretty much confirm it
@@WarTurtle-tv3gh Hell yeah, this proof is pretty much irrefutable. Thanks for the heads up.
@@Mespyythe movie was vaguely canon as you detailed in the video for the longest. Like the existence of the valley of screams and stuff but never that Ichigo’s events actually happened there
Like other commentators said the TYBW anime confirmed that yeah the actual events of the movie are canon
@ShaudL well the manga does confirmed the movie was canon. TBYW only doubled down with the info card, ichigo's statement was from the manga.
People just argued against because they didn't like the idea like they're still doing. Same with the LNs even with Kubo saying they're canon.
@@ShaudL Ichigo said he had been there once in the manga too, but the keyword card from the anime was a nice addition to the proof pile.
That final scene with Ichigo and Senna is why I love Ichigo so much as a protagonist.
I actually glad that in the small section of the anime when they showed the explanation of the Valley of Screams, we can see leaves and a hair tie. It also explained that Ichigo once deal with the Shinenju crisis and said that he had visited the Valley of Screams before, which means that movie 1 is completely canon and sadly all of them forgetting Senna is also canon 😢
I also agree that the whole movie being canon is what makes the most sense to me. I would understand saying it's not entirely canon if it was only Yoruichi that mentioned it, but Ichigo saying that he's been there is what makes me think that it's entirely canon
@@Mespyy fun fact Kubo loves the 1st move and sena, so much that he canonized the whole thing, with the Valley being used again in the LNs, and reuses Sena's design(mostly her hair).
@@Mespyy the TYBW anime actually doubles down on the 1st movie being canon. with the little info cards bascailly summerizing the 1st move plot while saying this is why Ichigo knows of the Valley. i.e kubo stating that the whole movie is canon.
Who cares at least Ichigo, the only person that matters, remembers 😊
Im so glad Senna is remembered to this day, especially with the ending song by Aqua Timez, my heart...
The ending song was so good lmao, I sat through all that just listening to that banger of a song
As I've said that final scene at the cemetery will always be heartbreaking. Then hope is renewed by Ichigo's run in with that girl who strongly resembles Senna, as seen in Ichigo's expression.
That one month in between Soul Society and Hueco Mundo is where this movie takes place canonically
Canonically? Everyone was training during that month canonically...
@Helvian494743 the incident didn't last that long to begin with. Now unless you're trying to say them handling it was the training or after the incident with what time was left they trained what you're saying goes against what Kubo has said repeatedly
Why was Ichigo and Rukia there to begin with? Rukia was stated to be training in Soul Society with Orihime during that time. The visoreds don't appear and Aizen is never mentioned. It makes no sense for the movie to take place during this time frame.
@Helvian494743 wrong.
Just bcus Aizen himself wasn't mentioned let alone the Visords didn't appear doesn't mean the movie by definition doesn't fit let alone isn't canon.
1) Why does Aizen need to be mentioned in a situation that has nothing to do with him in the first place? That's like asking why Aizen wasn't brought up during the Fullbringer Arc or the Arc before Soul Society.
2) Why would the Visords appear in an earlier part of the story when we didn't even know who Shinji was at that moment. Ichigo didn't seek out the Visords until AFTER his loss to Grimmjow not before. Even in the movie itself it didn't have Ichigo somewhat get out of control with the mask, but are we just gonna knock the movie simply over that? No that wouldn't make sense.
3) Why were Ichigo and Rukia there in the Valley of Screams? The movie itself literally shows why leading up to the how.
4) The biggest part of the movie (which even the TYBW confirmed it) is the fact once the Shinenju disappeared NOBODY REMEMBERS WHAT HAPPENED SPECIFICALLY (with the possible exception of Ichigo). The only thing they do remember is that it was a thing and they handled it which even Ichigo admitted openly himself to have been there.
Ichigo clearly has his Bankai but no Hollow Training in the movie. It can't take place during the Hueco Mundo Arc and clearly didn't happen during Soul Society so it must've happened in between Soul Society and Hueco Mundo. Like I said Kubo already confirmed that the movie is canon multiple times and personally told people to go watch it on a page in the Manga. Why would Kubo tell people to watch something that isn't canon but has his characters acknowledge what it is and have been there prior in Canon. If you personally don't like it that's on you but Kubo has spoken on it and his word is final.
@@kaimobley5324 1. If the movie takes place during Aizen's arc (Arrancar) as you say then don't you think it's weird Aizen isn't mentioned when they're preparing to fight Aizen?
2. Shinji and the visoreds WERE introduced before the 1 month time-skip that everyone claims this movie takes place in.
3. Don't know. Events happen off-screen you know.
4. This in no way contradicts anything I have said.
Kubo telling people to watch the movie doesn't mean it's canon. He has never used the word canon in describing it. The way the valley of screams is depicted in the manga is completely different from how the movie depicts it. At the end of the movie Ichigo goes back to school even though he's supposed to be training? Quit bullshitting me.
In the tie in novel, "Can't Fear Your Own World", they hammer in that it was canon when the lead antagonist uses the Valley of Screams as his base of operation, and even directly mentions that a clan was banished there a thousand years ago and that they may have already been eliminated prior to his use of it without his knowledge of the events happening. For that matter, I believe in the other novel, "Spirits Are Forever With You" there's mention of Kageroza, the antagonist of a separate filler arc, and the humanoid form of Shuhei's zanpakuto, Kazesheni, that appeared in the Zanpakuto Rebellion filler reappears in "Can't Fear Your Own World". I think for the most part, while certain events and movies don't align fully with the canon timeline, a good majority of them still seem to be favored by Kubo and made sort of canon. The only things I hear he disliked was the Bount arc and movie 4, "Hellverse" so they aren't accepted as canon.
its mostly just some concepts and character are canon from the filler arcs, the actual events don't happen though. for starters there's really no feasible way for the amagai and zanpaktou arc to happen in the context of the story because of developments from the FKT that would contradict events of the filler arcs as they are supposed to be after aizen's defeat, like ichigo shouldn't have his powers, but if he still did have it then his mask should have a different design, or if its supposed to be after the fullbring then his base outfit should be different. rose, kensei and shinji should have been captains during the amagai arc. also based on TYBW arc, it should have been white who was extracted instead of old man zangetsu during the zanpaktou rebellion, there's also with regards to kenpachi's which should have also gotten his extracted, on top of hyorinmaru and zabimaru having a new form just to be humanoid.
@@wakamoon1910 Amagai arc was purely filler and not mentioned outside of the arc to be considered remotely canon, but even then, it took place before Aizen's defeat, as did the Zanpakuto Rebellion, both arcs being introduced in the anime via a skit at the end of an episode involving Ulqiorra telling Ichigo that their battle was being postponed due to outside circumstances, referring to the filler arcs. I agree, White should have been the one to manifest, but Zangetsu always used White to test Ichigo, so I fully believe that Zangetsu was never under a spell, but played the part as if he did. That said White's hollow nature always had a sort of immunity to these kinds of forces, like how Amagai could not create an Ichigo Regai, so White likely was immune as well. But it was also necessary for Ichigo to not learn Zangetsu was actually his Quincy powers that early so I'm sure Zangetsu knowing this took on the role a Zanpakuto should have for that arc. Kenpachi's sword already was manifested the whole time, that manifestation being Yachiru, who is revealed to be his Zanpakuto in TYBW, hence why she disappears afterwords. As for the other two, Muramasa specifically said that with his power they could manifest in any form they desired, so that's what they came out as. But putting all of that aside, my point was not to say most filler was canon, my point was that a lot of things we'd take away as irrelevant throw way ideas actually were liked by Kubo enough that he even said they could be considered sort of canon or inspiration for canon material.
Well said
Yeah Kubo had nothing to do with this movie BUT he respected and loved it a lot and adopted it as canon in TYBW, like he literally tells manga readers to go watch this movie to understand Valley of Screams lore. Its technically in a similar state to the Light Novels "Spirits are Forever with You" where Kubo isn't the storywriter but he respected it and actually worked with the Author of the Light Novels to make the "Can't Fear your own world" so those Light Novels are as canon as this movie is..... so pretty canon.
While i got your attention the only movie Kubo "worked" on is Hell Verse aka. Movie 4 but Kubo himself disowned that movie after getting into conflict with the director so if you hear people say that Movie 4 is also canon that isn't the case. Kubo literally hates that movie with a burning passion (he is fairly neutral on movie 2 and 3).
There is only 1 Scene in movie 4 that is Canon and that is it adapted the Ulqoirra vs. Vasto Lorde Ichigo fight at the start and is more loyal to the Manga at parts. Its the only thing Kubo is proud of that movie for.
The vibe this movie had felt like canon material, it was really good.
He was involved with the Movie’s story and he worked on the Character designs, I remember one time Kubo said that he originally planned to make Senna Rukia’s daughter from an alternate universe but the idea got scrapped, Dimond dust rebellion was the only Film Kubo was not involved in.
@@ChillDeathgod he wasn't involved in the 3rd nor the 4th, they didn't use his script
@@SemekiIzuio That’s a lie he was involved with them the films just had a lot of rewrites and Kubo was the one who worked on the characters designs
I thought Kubo liked the Hell Verse Movie and that stuff with directors was just bogus? I could be wrong, but I do know it’s not canon except for the beginning with Ulquiorra and Ichigo. I could’ve sworn he liked it, it was the only reason I check out the movie. I need to watch the first movie as well since it’s now canon
Movie was confirmed canon a long time ago. But I appreciate you new Bleach fans bringing attention to a series that I've loved for over 20 years now.
The Movie as a whole is basically canon as Ichigo says it by dialogue that "He has been there before and had seen how not cute the valley of screams is".
And Ichigo is the only character that has the retained the memory of what happened in that movie.
Just so you know someone (that you're not introduced to yet) was designed based off of Senna and Kubo personally confirmed it in his Klubhouse Outside Q&A in addition to if we potentially are ever going to see Senna again in the future in some way.
If Senna exists again, the closest she will be is as a brand new soul. She can't be the Senna Ichigo knew, because that Senna technically doesn't exist in the first place.
Been a day 1 supporter and im happy you've experienced peak.
Thank you, you're the goat
I really liked senna she has pretty eyes for a bleach character and such a sad ending it brought a tear no joke I liked her she didn't deserve her fate
Honestly, this was always my favorite movie, closest to the feeling of canon bleach.
So I'm glad it is canon enough to at least get people to watch it
The entire "did this movie happen or not?" debate is ironically really fitting for the theme and memory loss ending of the movie.
I feel like it would be super cool if during the final fight between Ichigo vs Ywhach, if we get to see memories of everything Ichigo has gone through. And in we get to see Senna, not only making a great character wonderful, but also showing that someone remembers her, that would be a great way to conclude her story in a nice bow tie
@@crazy1st701 that would be beautiful and honestly might make me tear up. If someone remembers Senna it would be Ichigo. It's as if that memory is a gift she left personally for Ichigo to enjoy.
Kubo adored Senna so much he did try to make her canon. Much like how he tried to make a few Zanpakuto spirits canon from the filler arch. What I love about Kubo as a creator is he was always very open to stuff the anime team did with his work. Some manga creators frowned on changes but he was always able to admit when someone took his work and did something great with it. The novels as well he doesn't write just over sees and most of them he stamps as canon. He likes people playing in his sand box. But yeah if Ichigo ever had a daughter I always figured he'd have named her Senna. Even if he can't totally remember her I just had that in my head canon.
Damn I forgot how good this movie was. So glad you covered it.
I choose to believe the memories of nobody is canon as Ichigo did say he's been the valley of screams, plus Senna us my favorite character so it makes the evidence more solid 😭
I loved Sena too ❤
Even in the ealry 2000s alot of people loved her, it was good movie considering its a non canonical movie material before it became confirmed
It’s also always interested me that Senna glows with the golden light which is only associated with godly/heavenly beings
also need to watch the Hellverse movie, the Hell Chapter which takes place after the end of the manga retroactively cannonizes the hellverse movie
Congrats on the 10 k :) I too believe it is 100% confirmed that the movie is entirely canon. If you take the fillers out, I think going from the SS arc directly to the Arrancar arc feels a bit too fast. I like that we get to know that ichigo fights more before the fight vs yammy and ulquiorra when they first get to the world of the living
Thank you, figuring out when this movie took place was the hardest part. It's hard to pinpoint because Ichigo wasn't surprised to see Rukia had her Soul Reaper powers back, but also Ichigo didn't use his hollow mask. Regardless I think the movie is definitely canon
I know I'm a bit late to this, but man, that ending always emotionally wrecks me. I straight up can't watch it without tears being shed. Some of the plot, and definitely the antagonists left a lot to be desired, but everything about Senna completely makes up for it imo.
A cool fun fact for you as well. The artist 'SennaRin' who made the song for ending 1 of TYBW apparently loved the Senna so much that she named her stage name after the character.
For me, this movie has always been unquestionably canon ever since the manga chapter equivalent released where it’s discussed, with the anime only reinforcing it.
I do see folks getting bent out of shape that Rukia is in the world of The Living with her powers, and there would be no way for this movie to happen during the Arrancar arc since Ichigo effectively went missing after he joined up with the Visoreds until he reappeared to fight Grimmjow.
But I personally think this movie happens after the Soul Society arc and maybe just days before the Arrancar arc begins. Rukia says at the end of the movie that all of their memories regarding the Blanks will disappear. I think Rukia was sent to the world of The Living, without her full knowledge, to handle the Blanks. Maybe by cleaning up Hollows that might eat them. We’re told that Blanks and the Valley are naturally occurring processes, just not widely known information. Soul Society would def send her in to clean up Hollows to protect the Blanks and not tell her what Blanks are because it’s on a need to know basis.
So she probably reunited with Ichigo for the first time off screen, explained that she got her powers back and could fight alongside him, etc. When the movie ends and everyone’s memories surrounding the blanks disappears, Ichigo and Rukia would forget that they reunited. So when the Arrancar arc comes around, they believe this is the first time they’ve seen each other since Soul Society because of their lost memories 😊
I think it's pretty obvious that the movie happens after soul society and the timeline would make sense because of that.
I believe its canon, manga shows panel of how the valley of screams look like which is what is seen in the movie while anime has one of the data cards showing senna's ribbon and autumn leaves.
Yeah even in TYBW ending it shows her ribbon and autumn leaves, Kubo liked her
It's crazy that people still say that the movie isn't canon even with all the evidence.
You know, I'm usually not a fan of movies based on popular anime franchises. They mostly serve only to rip off fans' money so that they can go to a popular franchise. But with the first Bleach movie, it's a different story, because it's great in almost every way! I watched this movie completely by accident in my free time and to be honest, it's not surprising that it was made canon after that moment in the 3rd cour of TYBW where Yoruichi explains about Valley of Screams. It fits all of this very well. I really liked the slice of life moments with Senna. Ichigo and Senna became very close to each other and I liked their interactions even more than with Rukia. Maybe this movie has not the best cast of villains, but what caught my attention the most was the theme that haunted Senna throughout the entire film and at the end it was very touching and full of emotion(I even shed tear at this moment, which rarely happens to me). Not every anime film is capable of this.. And yes, I liked Ichigo development as MC here too, especially his final farewell and last scene, it's a 10/10 emotional moment. Which once again proves how those people who criticize Bleach for "lack of emotions" are simply wrong or have barely watched it. Probably one of my favorite anime movies if you take popular shonen franchises like Dragon Ball, Naruto or One Piece...
Slice of life is the phrase I was looking for lol, I kept grouping it with worldbuilding. The scenes with Senna and Ichigo doing different activities around Karakura Town was one of my favorite aspects of the movie. I can't speak for anime movies as a whole, the only other anime movie I've seen was the Made in Abyss one and that was great, but I have heard slander of shounen movies. It's one of the reasons I was hesitant to watch this movie but the character work with Senna was amazing
@@RastaGamesful Yeah for me I really enjoyed Memories of Nobody and Hell Verse. I've seen all the Naruto movies and Idk at least 10 Op movies and while some were alright none really clicked with me like those 2 movies. MoN because it was just beautiful and Hell Verse because... it's just absolute cinema. The music, the animation, the aesthetics and even the main villain (look I just really like him). Also that firstly scene? Peak. Even Kubo said that this was how he envisioned Ichigo vs Ulquiorra looking in the anime.
I know Hell Verse gets a bad rep for its... production mishandlings, but the movie is still a love letter to Bleach and I honestly don't think Kubo is that mad about it as from what I can gather it seems to have been 3rd party middlemen or such relaying the wrong information between Kubo and the director.
probably cause the 1st movie is actually made to tell a new story focusing on a new character that could fit into bleach canon while the other movies are just cashing in on the popular character or concept(toshiro, rukia, hollow ichigo).
I liked the movie so much I actually bought the dvd
I LOVE this movie well it definitely has its problems (the villains are really just tools for the plot and all). I'm a firm believer in its canonicity and was so hyped when it got an eyecatcher in TYBW (which, if translated, even further proves it's canonicity btw).
This movie oozes passion and love, Senna is one of my favorite bleach characters, and I've been excited for you to review this movie.
Kenpachis speed is so underrated bro was able to teleport behind that guy without him knowing it lol
It doesnt usually matter if Anime mentioned a filler event as canon, but considering for much Kubo is involved with TYBW anime part it should be accepted if that part mentionst it. Regardless Kubo in fact canonised the 1st movie in magna at around chapter 620-630.
Also the time slot should be around Ichigos training with Vizards, after he beat White but before the second fight with Grimmjaw as its the only time when Ichogo can go Bankai with no White interference but is also unable to wear a mask in fight.
You should watch the Zanpakuto arc, it was really good and the zanpakuto designs are canon since we see shunsui's bankai
This was one of those anime movies that I honestly honestly wished it was canon because it could definitely fit at a specific point in the anime story but at least we got some level of confirmation later on that it is canon. Man it's great to hear a lot of people talking about BLEACH More often then not over the years thanks to 1000 year Blood War arc and the announcement of Rebirth of souls. I will definitely say that this movie is one of those anime movies that I do always think about alongside some of the dragon ball Z ones and that Senna is a great Movie character. Good job!
I gotta watch the movie now ngl. I feel like certain parts like the timeline of the movie but the events are cannon only because of the TYBW and its parts of the movie that could fit
Didn't expect my comment to be in the video. Also I've been really slacking on finishing bleach for years and your videos made me sit down and read the manga after years of putting it off. I can't wait to see how the anime does it
I heard the manga ending is underwhelming because it was rushed. Hope the anime does Bleach justice, and with all the anime exclusive content it will be something new even for manga readers
@@MespyyI can understand why people felt that way but in my opinion it isn't that bad just needed context
@@kodywill5441 I heavily agree with you. I think alot of people over hated the ending in my opinion.
also please read the light novels "spirits are forever with you" & "cant fear your own world" they are cannon as well & take place after the TYBW but before the end of the manga & the hell chapter. they introduce so much stuff & is actually the origin of Shinji'a bankai from TYBW
Oh I loved this movie so much! Thanks for talking about it!
I really really like Senna. Such a simple character but handled so well. The struggle of identity, and trying to find anything to prove she really existed. So good
I think you forgot the info bit description that is shown in the chapter (the Japanese text with info) about things relevant were it not only stated the valley of screams and the shinenju, but also it has a tearful art of some leafs and a ribbon 😢
Bro cooking
Hope he gets more exposure now with bleach hype
Kubo confirmed that aizen knew urahara before urahara met yoruichi. Urahara and yoruichi are childhood friends💀. I can't imagine how deep kubo can take the chess match between urahara and aizen, this is insane. Also i would appreciate if you can make a video about the IQ narrative aspect of urahara, aizen and mayuri. I mean like the planning, counteracts and stuff just like death note. I feel like that is underrated. Also an important thing to watch for spoiler if you do research on this topic because some very interesting bits of this are yet to be animated.
That movie became canon the second Kubo brought it up again towards the end of the anime.
If you are watching filler arcs, i think regai arc is the best. It had a very good narrative aspect so check that out next.
Pretty recently also ran out of canon material and finally got around to watching the movie
This feels like it should have been its own mini arc though because yeah those villains have the least amount of aura of any bleach villains ever
My first movie was "Fade in black" i thought that was the first movie (but turn out it actually the third one) and then i watch second movie "Diamond Dust Rebellion" and im glad that actually a second movie lol. But what i didn't know back then, i thought this movie "Memories of Noboby was the third one.. so i hold onto it till TYBW, i still haven't watch the other two movie (hellverse) yet lmao. But then, that Episode of TYBW came out and i was so clueless, i dont know what they was talking about and i was like "did i miss anything? Did i skip on something?" But hey, thank you internet for hyping up this episode and sharing the info about the movie. And so, after that hype i was so excited and i bing the movie right away and i already miss Senna :'(
but still, im glad i actually watch the movie later, after watching the movie its feels like refreshing the memories that was once gone~
Great video man! I might check ur Rezero video later.
Fun fact: in the second "cover" picture of volume 25 of the manga there is a picture of the main villain and senna with ichigo
You should watch the second and the third movie plus I love you videos of your reaction to the series
Thank you, I will watch all of them forsure
This movie and I think it was the movie that goes over toshiro's sword and the origins behind it are some of my favorite movies this one being my number one just because of that ending and how much it hurt me especially on the fact that they basically just do a memory wipe which leaves the movie Ambiguously Cannon or not even when you watch it you can put where you think the movie takes place but bro my baby girl I may have forgotten her name cuz I'm not all the way done watching this video but I have never forgotten her
Mespyyy when is the next live stream?
In the episode where they mention the valley of screams there's a part with some text written in japanese that says Ichigo has been to the valley of screams beacuse of an incident with the shinenju making the whole movie cannon
This is my favourite movie and it ain't even close, i love her character, i love the story and everything, and yeah i believe it's canon
Personally the other thing I really liked about the ending of this movie was just simply. It begs the question of who were the sole Reapers before they were Soul Reapers. It's something that in early bleach they bring up one or two times and never really liked put a highlight on like who they are where I get the writer themselves as an interested in going into that but I would love if the writer did one day release some like one shot comics of the origin of Every Soul Reaper when they were alive. Because I would find it funny if we would have some characters that actually lived in the far future in the far past or maybe even the modern-day present. I saw some people theorized that tatsuki may be part of senna which is always a funny thought because I think a lot of people just want tatsuki to be important
This movie and that one filler arc about Nozomi they were good, we got to see Kon's character development lol
I think the reason for why this movie isn't talked about as much is the same reason for why the other three movies aren't talked about as much. They just feel incredibly weak compared to the main story. They're not bad, but they're nothing to write home about. The worst one, to my and Tite Kubo's opinion, is The Hell Gate Verse. That one sucked nuts, and I feel like I'm in the minority on that one.
However, I will revisit this movie one day, now that the news on this now being cannon has spread.
This movie was amazing, I remember watching it back in the day
Yeah the Anime and Novels which are canon pretty much says it. If Valley of Screams is canon then yes the first movie is in fact canon.
And the twist at the end is what makes it so heartwrenching. No one remembers, but we sure do.
The events of the movie are also canon, as in the anime we also see a one of those info cards between commercial breaks make a reference to senna and kubo himself wrote in that anime chapter that ichigo mentions the valley of screams in a little note to go watch the first bleach movie to get what ichigo means. So yeah, the events of the film are indeed canon. It fits into the timeline and the events don't conflict with the established lore.
I’m 99% sure senna appears as a background character in the anime like you see her in the background of some episode after the movie came out
The movie is...well...brilliant and complete.
It's like having a discussion about a sunrise. It's perfect.
Also, senna was reborn as Rukia and Renji's daughter.
Bleach Memory of Nobody is literally my all time favourite Bleach movie of the 4 Bleach movies and one of my the best anime movies because this has the most beautiful art style, story and I love Ichigo & Senna friendship this is canon and the best Bleach movie! ❤
For some reason when I was young, I BELIEVED this movie was in the anime lmao At some point I did realize that wasn't the case ofc, but yeah- some concepts in the movies are really cool and stuck to me (even if the others may not be canon, I'm not too familiar with the mangas and light novels either cough). One of the memorable things in the movies I remember was the question of "what if two people had the same zanpakuto?" And you guys know the rest.
The movie was so perfect, it felt canon before it was confirmed canon lol 😅 it felt so good that it had the vibes from S1 and early 2000s Im glad is was cohesive to the canon material and the only person that matters to hold Senna memory is Ichigo, he deserves to remember her existence, its what she wanted, to be remembered by someone. Think ima go watch it again now lol been a long time and we fans loved Senna 💕
One of the greatest anime movie 😢
IMO I think all the Bleach Movies are the canon. They just haven't stated it yet.
We know the hell movie isn’t
@@logandelaharpe6362 That's canon too. It just hasn't been acknowledged yet. I'm sure that if Ichigo and Rukia and Renji and even Uryu go to Hell in the 'No Breathes From Hell Arc' they'll mention the fact that they fought kokuto and had to rescue his sisters or something like that
Memories of Nobody IMHO should've been a full fledged story arc instead of just a hour and a half film length of compressed content.
Ichigo said he been there and thanked Riruka for putting it in her box…
I'm glad Memories of Nobody has become somewhat canonized, it's so freaking PEAK!
"My sword is burning blue!!! Its loud roar demands I destroy filler!!!"

Don’t understand why its a filler. Its as much of a canon as all other arcs.
That movie was surprisingly good. Like better than all the other shonen non canon movies
Im pretty sure the 1st movie is now officially 100% cannon, because I'm the manga Ichigo knew about the Vally of screams but in the anime he says he's been there so yeah
I always recommend this to anyone watching bleach for the first time.
To be honest wouldn’t be surprised to me if the main story was just about Senna but producers or studios thought you can’t have a character piece with a Shouēn and we need big fights so they just created villain fodder.
Is that skullgirls music in the back or am i crazy
You’re not crazy lol
@@Mespyy SKULLGIRLS MENTIONEEED😋😋😋
Canon with issues is how I look at it. It's like the silly flash-forward bits in the Series with Enryu, Kenryu, the Bakoto swords and that princess.
The kageroza arc gave me similar vibes to this movie
Don't let the haters stop you from enjoying bleach watch the movies and fillers it's all entertaining 💯
Senna is the only character I ship with ichigo it just feels right
This movie was sad and that ending with senna running past Ichigo know my question is do she get reborn or something
Well there is one more piece of canon material... Time to read Can't Fear Your Own World! (well maybe wait until after TYBW because potential spoilers as it is set after TYBW).
I'll read CFYOW but I want to stay anime only until Cour 4 is over. I thought there were more light novels based on Ichigos son though
If you want another piece of canon material, the Zanpakuto Rebellion arc is canon.
During his fight with As Nodt in the TYBW anime, Byakuya has a flashback to his fight with Koga.
@@Mespyy Ichigo's son isn't in any light novel. He only appears in the manga.
@@WarTurtle-tv3gh I wouldn't say the Zanpakuto Rebellion arc is canon because of that very minor inclusion as it wasn't even referenced or mentioned. The biggest problem with having the Zanpakuto Rebellion be canon is that it is literally impossible to fit into the timeline of Bleach. The Hueco Mundo arc would have to be put on pause and Orihime temporarily freed before the war in fake Karakura. It makes no sense. It can't take place between Mugetsu and Ichigo losing his powers either, as in the manga he goes into a 1 month coma and loses his powers shortly after he wakes up.
@ fair
Imma say it, Senna is Ichigo's best non-cannon/now-cannon girlfriend. I think she contrasts Ichigo's personality in the best way, in my opinion.
will you make a video on solo leveling
In the near future fs
Ye Ichigoi did say he has been in the valley of screams, knew it was canon. Oh i knew all along.
Senna being canon is something i can see too since she had to be the shinenju so if the valley is real, she's too.
Tbh you better watch all the movies, they're soo good.
It's just has you said. If you like watching the world of bleach, characters and all of that, you will enjoy the movies and the fillers. I could watch a filler with gotei 13 drinking tea for 3 Eps, i would love it.
Would you consider reading the Manga ?
Now that its confirmed that its basically 50% new content i think itd be fun if you gave your „initial thoughts“ on the original ending of bleach as a small little series which would make it even more fun when Bleach cour 4 releases and you have a side by side cimparison
When will you ran out of bleach content? But hey,I'm here for more Bleach video tho 🔥. Just that I'm waiting for other animes talked by you
I realized it’s probably better for me to get all the Bleach content out the way then go to a new anime because if I do it like Re:Zero where I kept switching between the 2 animes neither side would be happy because they’re basically waiting 2 weeks for a video. I think I’ll get the main Bleach videos out the way first so I can then focus on a new anime
@@Mespyy awesome, thanks for your response and keep this schedule going ❤️.
The whole movie is canon in the canon movies after the TYBW the main bad guy’s family last name is mentioned with the events of then been case out into the Dangai.
To me personally the Movie is canon. According to Kubo himself the movie is Canon.
There is no kinda sorta canon with this movie. Either it is or it isn't and Kubo confirmed it first in the manga (especially when he told other people to go watch it. Bcus why would he tell people to watch an uncanon movie and but have it in the Manga), second in his Klubhouse Outside Q&A and third in the Anime with additions. If Kubo only wanted the place to be canon he wouldn't have bothered having Ichigo himself admit he was there also. Nor would the screen have leaves and a hair band which signifies only one character in Bleach.
There are certain people who still wanna put their own personal head canon/opinion over what the Creator says and makes canon. Some even think they have authority over what the Native Language says and how its structured (which is CRAZY. I actually debated someone like this) but that's not how things work. Imagine if an Anime/Manga was created by someone and the fans or nonfans that read/watch it have more say so then the actual creator...it would be chaos.
Now something that is also debated is if Ichigo remembers Senna and to me he does but bcus of the symbolism at the end and the others don't so he just keeps it to himself as to not confuse people. It's like his own personal treat/gift that Senna left behind just for him.
I do agree with the end statement that Ichigo remembers Senna, feels like that was the point of the final scene. I'm glad to find out about Kubo advocating people to watch the movie, I knew he mentions Valley of Screams in CFYOW but to know that he flat out tells people to watch it is pretty irrefutable
Dammn i wanna see Sena again
I honestly don't see any reason not to believe the first movie is Canon. It doesn't seem to make sense that Kubo would just retroactively canonize locations and vaguely suggest that Ichigo went there and not have this be a reference to the events of the movie. If it wasn't for Ichigo saying he went there and all they mentioned was the location, sure. This would be like how the Zanpakuto spirits are canon designs but the Zanpakuto Rebellion Arc isn't a canon story. And interestingly we also know this because Katen Kiyokotsu appeared in Thousand Year Blood War as she did in Zanpakuto Rebellion, and when using Bankai, Rukia's appearance is extremely similar to Sode No Shirayuki. But if Ichigo passingly mentioned his fight with Muramasa in a manga canon episode, that would lead you to think the whole thing was canon.
It doesn't have to be canon for me to enjoy it. I am a diehard Bleach fan and I consume anything Bleach. I even watched that goofy musical back in the day. But if it is canon, that is a big deal! Because with shonen animes, movies are usually just glorified filler. They're filler episodes that are just longer than 24 minutes.
The best bleach movie
The movie was great, I always hear people say this or Hell Verse are the best Bleach movies
My favourite movie tied with Hell Verse
The worst part about the movie is the dub when ichigo about to beat the enemy. Ichigo screamed "ill kill you" in English dub. Which is something ichigo would never say.
I want more Senna 😢
"I finished all canon material for Bleach except for reading the manga"
Wait til bro hears about the novels 💀... If you haven't heard, yes, they are indeed canon and Kubo directly added lore and helped write them. Most of them are light hearted banted like We Do Knot Always Love You mainly focused on Rukia and Renji's marriage etc. There are two more serious and important ones. SAFWY, which focuses on the short time between Aizen's defeat and Fullbring, with additional lore on the previous Kenpachi and some other characters, although other than that it's not that relevant for the plot overall. CFYOW is the most important and best one by far, it has around 1200 pages total. It focuses on the story 6 months after TYBW, with Hisagi as the main character as Ichigo and the gang left for a trip. This novel glues many plot points from the past and gives us a lot of additional lore like Aizen, the man who killed Tosen's friend (who is actually the main antagonist), the Fullbringers, more lore on the Nobles and much more incuding the history of the Soul Society and the world prior to the realms being split. It also reveals more Arrancar and Quincy survivors as they all help in defeating the antagonist in a battle royal.
IMO: cannon to the audience and maybe Ichigo, since we remember the most about Senna. Non cannon to the characters that forgot all about her.
yea i abt that imma watch the movie later
It's confirmed by both manga and anime, it's the only movie that makes sense in the storyline, and have a perfect place to happen in universe, by the way.
The Bleach movies are so good.
Yep, the first movie is canon. You saying "partially canon" did bring to mind the fourth Bleach movie, Hellverse. Now, Hellverse is not canon as there is NO WAY for it to fit in the story (not even in the anime canon where Ichigo still had his powers for a bit post-Aizen fight) and we are going to get a Hell Arc that will likely contradict the lore it presented. BUT, Kubo did say that the opening fight between Vaste Lorde Ichigo and Ulquiorra was closer to how he originally intended the fight to be. I believe he also said that the depiction of the Vaste Lorde Ichigo was accurate (meaning canon powerscaling could use the movie)
