In a world full of chaos , calamity, and mortality it’s nice to know that there is other worldly musical compositions to appease one’s soul and muse the mind and body. The desire to feel spiritually connected to an alternate destination is the aim of many…but few attain it - this music underscores that reality!

If I could learn to play any of these piano pieces, I could probably die happy.

    • @FluidlyWillful
      @FluidlyWillful 3 ปีที่แล้ว +14

If you have hands, have no neurological reasons why you can't, then physically, you can learn to play any of these piano pieces. You need a piano (electric, upright someone getting rid of doesn't want round anymore that you need to tune, second hand, new,... whatever), and an investment on your part of time. There's plenty of info online and in books regarding fingering, scales, hand positions etc... if you need to self-learn.
So there you are, you can probably die happy. Though I think you meant that as an outcome if you did learn to play any of these, rather than if you only could possibly learn to play them. :P

    • @lonelydogclub

I am failing yet again in this life, struggling to juggle everything. My mind isn't as computing powerful as others and I feel like no one really understands that; life is really tossing me around and I've lost everything I cared for: I've had two marriages fail, I am failing in college, I don't have a job anymore because I struggle with juggling it with school and home obligations (taking care of my grandma and elderly uncle). I'm not really sure I'm cut out to be a multitasker, nor am I sure if I could focus on college primarily without it interfering with the obligations at home. Online schooling is great, but only if your internet is good (and simply buying a better one isn't anyways an option).
I don't know, I guess I'm just overreacting to it. Maybe it'll get easier in time, but I probably won't be in school soon and will have to give that up for a while to focus on work. That sucks, really.
Sorry for ranting, hope you all have a blessed rest of 2022.

I got really inspired by listening to this and started a story.
I thought of sharing the beginning maybe you can give me some advise:
I looked back as I walked in the snow, then again and again. Avoiding all obstacles. Every part of me was afraid of what was coming. I could hear her steps, but they sounded different then usual. They echoed as if walking in a giant room. One two, one two. I picked up my dress and started running, smacking on a tree as I looked back, but I quickly stood back up and continued. I got closer to my house as I ran from her.
My father stopped cutting wood, his axe still in hand when he saw me running struggling for words.
“What is it? tell me.” He hugged me with every strength he still had.
“She is coming! I don’t know if it’s for me or... She’s coming like when she came for mom.” I said crying, “I can hear her.”
    “Who, Veren? Look at me.”
I looked at his eyes, glowing with life, filled with worry.
    “Death.”
I lost the strength to stand when I heard her close but my grip never letting go of his clothes. He crouched in front of me, and covered my ears with his shaking hands, and pulled my head lower so my hair gave me no view. He didn’t know that his hands weren’t covering my ears well and shaking so much. As his hands pulled away from my ears, I felt my heart stop. I looked up as fast as I could, but he was well and forced a smile as he pointed behind me.
    “Veren what was behind you?”
I looked up at my friend that I was telling the story to, and whispered as we danced to an old melody along the other people.
“A crow… and… a dead Phoenix.” I said as I tore a new feather from my bird that no one could see, resting on my shoulder and placed it gently behind my ears.
“Is it still here?” He looked intrigued by my movement.
“Yes, very close. I decided to keep it,” I gently patted his head that rested around my neck like a scarf, “We're linked by death, and when it comes, it gives me a slender possibility that she came for nothing precious belonging to me.”
I didn't know what he was saying anymore, this friend of mine, but the silence that got stronger by the second gave me a smile. My smile vanished and I suddenly felt upset seeing the small orchestra. Upset that I never had enough courage to listen to the end of this piece. Upset that I can never dance my best.
But I was good at reading his lips, he seemed to say “You stepped on my foot again.”
“SORRY!” I yelled apparently since I couldn't hear myself.

always get the who where why when / how do they and the surroudings look etc sorted out first in a story. the pictures may all be in your head but the reader wont be able to imagine it without you describing and will have blank gaps. or imagine smth else and your story makes less sense.
if i were to read a book that started like this i would think :
      - to melodramatic ( i would like to have more fact and story, less mysterious emotional smth right at the start because i dont know the characters yet and dont g.a.f. about them)
      - yeah all in all its to random (i didnt get what and why to the point that i would be interested into continuing to read)
PS i looked for smth to critizice, obviously its not entirely bad (7/10), your writing style was pretty vivid and etc - also it might just appeal more to emotional readers.
PPS if you really think about writing a longer story ( a book) read one that sold well (and is to your liking) before you start and think about what made it so great, how are the characters implemented (+ how do they complement each other), how was the world building done, how and when do they create interesting scenes, what makes them interesting, why could they write a logical continous story over such a long period without messing up or coming to a conclusion (end) to fast. how did they stretch it in the length without having boring parts in it, what kept you reading? use easy names that are catchy but original, think about at least one twist that isnt completely obvious to someone who reads alot of the genre you write, sort out the story line before you start (dont start random), make character sheets with their attributes and names etc.

Hey, I liked the concept and it left me curious but the beginning was very confusing (first drafts aren't permanent so no worries). We start in what resembles a forest, with the father and a second later, we're dancing with an unknown friend. Idk how we got from one place to another so different, but maybe you'll show us later on? Plus, the girl's reaction is a bit too emotional for something we don't understand , so instead of worrying, since I don't know her or what's going on, it comes off as a tad dramatic and I don't care too much yet. However, I do like the idea and the concept of the strong beginning where she's running and we enter mid-action. I advise you to maybe shorten the phrases to help you create more impact and accentuate the stressfulness of the situation (for instance, "Every part of me feared what was coming " or "Every muscle in my body tingled with fear." and the rest of the sentence would be unnecessary. Or "He didn't know that his hands barely covered my ears"). This all happens in editing, so it's fine.
I was also a bit shocked by how casually she's telling this story while dancing and out of nowhere she gets upset because she doesn't dance well while having an invisible crow on her shoulder and putting a feather behind her ear - I'm so confused. I think, overall, I need a bit more context and a slower pace to things, maybe her inner feelings should show when I know her a bit more, otherwise it's irrelevant to the reader and makes the MC sound pessimistic. I was also confused by why she's telling something so important like having a link to death to a friend we don't know and while dancing, like, what about privacy? Do you know what I mean? Naming the friend at the start (instead of "looked up at my friend", saying "looked up at [insert name]" could help).
Don't lose your motivation though! There's always improvement to be made, but you should definitely keep writing ! :) I like the concept and how she stopped hearing, but I need more context on how or why (maybe that comes afterwards but link it a bit more to the rest so that we're not so lost). I also like the dad's reaction, it's cute (though I'm also unaware of why he wasn't killed, maybe don't reveal that he's alive yet, maybe make the friend ask about that, it'd give us a second of suspense).
In conclusion, I'm still an amateur writer but I think you should keep going because this could be an awesome story! I hope this was helpful!

But I always get that problem where people get upset not understanding emmediatly and I don't know how to make them curious about something before explaining it. Your idea about keeping suspence really would work well here. So thank you!

Figuring out who your ancestors are is a lead that's really hard to follow, but figuring out who you are, that's a whole different story, followed with many acknowledgements and accomplishments, as well as failures, and mistakes, beliefs, and opinions, choices, and thoughts.
All the things that make up you, is what you are. But sometimes adding them all together makes it difficult to find out who you are, but once you have all the pieces of the puzzle, you'll see the full picture.
