Trees fall during storms and you thank God it didn't fall on you. We saw a tree yesterday on the way to town, it fell over from the roots. I guess I should say for lack of roots. I don't know if gophers chewed the roots until it didn't have anything to hold it up anymore or what,, but it looked weird. You'll get that done. Mike when youre cutting a log like the first one, start by making your relief cut on the bottom then move to the backside of the log, finally you can cut from the top and be farther back in case the log rolls farward when cut thru. Lacey and the big equipment saves your back and a lot of time.
Yeah I need to make some more salve. Last week I mixed some dry clay with my plantain salve to put on a bug bite that was starting to look infected and it cleared it right up.
I have been able to avoid getting the poison ivy rash by making a paste of dish soap and baking soda and scrubbing it on dry skin, leaving the paste on for a few minutes then shower and scrub off well. The mixture helps pull the ivy oils off and prevents the rash from starting. It helps with the rash too but requires you to scrub your skin 2-4 times a day (basically when ever the rash itches). I am also allergic to poison ivy, but doing this has significantly reduced my chances of the rash from starting or getting worse.

Days I’m exposed to poison ivy I shower with Dawn because it cuts through the oil. Also, if my skin gets touched (usually prevented by the clothes I wear), I’ll clean that area with rubbing alcohol. Have had zero outbreaks in three years (and I’m in TN with acres of woods next to me so you know there’s plenty of the stuff ☠👹)

I developed cellulitis and had to go to urgent care and get put on steroids and an antibiotic starting to clear up now😑 I am going to get some clay though

My dad was a redwood and fir timber faller the trees that have left hanging caught up in other trees limbs were called widow makers. I saw my dad flatten out against a huge redwood he was falling just as a huge limb came down where he had been standing.
I use the mixture of bentonite clay for deodorant. I use a little arrowroot powder to it and Lavender Oil for smell. I love it and it works. Enjoy you all very much. Keep up the good work.
Hand cleaner for poison ivy. Like mechanics use in the shop - Fast Orange or Goop or whatever. It's made for oils, resins, and tars, and the urushiol (the itchy stuff) in PI is a resin. Soap and water just spreads it around, more often than not, and makes it worse. If it has pumice, that's even better, it feels good while you rub it around where you think - or know - you've come in contact with the PI. After you thoroughly clean with the hand cleaner, THEN you wash off with hot soapy water to get all the hand cleaner off. Works like a charm, even helps a day or more later, because the resin can still be lingering and doing its thing for days if you don't get it all off. I learned about it back when I was a naturalist for a big state park back in the day.
I used the Bentonite clay mixture as a part of my detoxification regiment The 1st 48 hours after my chemotherapy treatments. That and some anti cancer smoothies, Detox bath Helped 100%🙏👍
Thats a lot of work cutting all that up i had to cut up a 200 year old redoak that fell across my drive after hurricane Gustav hit it was a mess the tree was huge took me almost a week to cut it up

I didnt know you could buy bentonite clay. When we get any bites, stings, etc we use WD40. It's fish oil based and really works great. Love your videos.

This is where a husband comes in, nice if you have one,or brothers. I use to help cut limbs out of trees not a standing tree. Very hard work.❤

You can also use Amish farm soap to help get rid of the poison. Another thing I fing helpful is Jewelweed salve. Lacey could easily make it
