Magica's life defintely went off the rails when she lost her brother Poe.
Even though Magica was evil even before she met Scrooge, seeing what happened to Poe kinda made me somewhat sympothize with Magica, i mean Scrooge had a chance to stop Poe from getting away but instead he chose greed over compassion, which as we all know is typical Scrooge.
I mean Magica got a taste of her own medicine. Yeah, its kind of sad, but it was basically karma for all the wrong this she did to the villagers.
Then Scrooge used the villagers/goats to sell their milk .-.
Poe was every bit as bad as Magica, the only thing that made him different was that he was pragmatic about his evil. It's Phantom Blot that seems to be the wronged victim lashing out.
Dude this was my first experience with Classic Scrooge McDuck, so I had a jaw dropping experience

That last argument of louie was Great, because the argument of the hero created his own villans was explored before, but rarely is taken in account own villans afect them, pushing the hero to the limit.
PD: possibly because generally is handled with heroes with secret identities and expose it out in risk it's identity and anyone connected to the person below the mask.
It was nice to see Doofus in a strait jacket because he's a psychopath even if he thought it would be fun. This episode makes you really feel for Magica. I love that they may have been evil but still loved each other with Poe taking the hit for Magica and Magica was even willing to sacrifice her magic if Scrooge would only stop Poe from flying away so she could find a way to turn him back. Honestly you can't blame Magica for hating Scrooge as much as she does. I hope Magica finds her brother one day. No matter what people say, she didn't deserved to lose her brother like that. If Bradford were there he definitely would've said I told you so.
Poe is rumored to be appearing in the finale. Hopefully the years as a Raven and being away from Magica humbled him and help Magica reform as well.

what Scrooge said to Magica was more a result of years of distancing himself from his family, he reconnected with his family when Donald & Della came into his life & when the triplets came
I don't think Magica is more off-kilter than before she lost Poe, but rather, she always was whack, Poe merely managed to keep her somewhat in check. With Poe gone, there was nobody to keep her crazy on the leash.
I wonder if Po was meant to come back in season four.

So here’s my theory:
What if Magica refers to Lena as her niece because she used the part of magic she took from Poe to create Lena. So therefore because it’s actually Poe’s magic and not her own, she thinks of Lena as Poe’s creation or daughter.
Wow, that would certainly add a new layer to the whole "niece" situation

Although, she also has shown that she has zero regard for Lena, but she cared at least somewhat for Poe
Okay. So after we found out about Poe it got me thinking about why magica is Lena's aunt and not her mom. What if she used some of Poe's old amulet to make lena,making poe Lena's dad and magica's niece. But that's my coffee headed theory.

Poe turned into a raven. A reference to Edgar Allen Poe's "The Raven"?
The connection was always there. In the comics Magica's Raven familiar is named Nevermore (Poe is never turned into a Raven in the comics like in the cartoons)
I knew I wasn't the only one who noticed that.
Now that the show is canceled, we'll never see Magica and Poe reunited. 😢😢😢
I'm pretty sure Scrooge meant it when he told Magica that family holds you back. It didn't really seem like he became a family man until meeting Donald and Della and it feels like that event was set significantly before that

This the First Time I see Po de Spell as a Duck
It's a really important take on apologizing and grudges. More often than not, you don't apologize because you conclude that what they did was way worse so of course they should apologize first. That can often make you overlook that you really did make mistakes, and taking the initiative can be a big step. Sometimes they'll even apologize in kind. _Not always, of course,_ but it's well worth the effort.
Not gonna lie I actually felt really sad for Magica during her flashback
Scrooge his involvement in the disapearance of Po was probably the ancient grudge that Magica had against clan McDuck according to webby.
I loved this episode. Prob my fav. This show was so well done. I miss it.

No, you're exactly right. That was always the idea for the character.
In the comics Magica's pet Raven (Poe doesnt get changed in the comics) is named Nevermore. So the connection was always there.
Scrooge not giving back the treasure abd using said treasure to basically enslave the transformed townspeople. I agree if you have a lot of people who hate you that it’s partly your to blame

Will hero's and villains make there own story's most part hero's make weird bad and questionable things and the villains try to make up for lost time or they want to be the baddest of themselves I say be the neutral character for the rest of your life it's not worth it

I'm pretty sure poe is being held captive by the phantom blot from what I have seen from magica's flashback that could've been he's village she destroyed plus who else could possibly have him / calling it pretty sure it's going to end up with leena and gladstone accidently finding him
Conflict was resolved too easily and quickly with Scrooge not facing any punishment for his greedy actions.
This is obviously because the show was cancelled after this season so they couldn’t go anywhere with it. -_-
5:36 i think is before he start to take care of Donald and Della. Mostly because is show in previous episodes that he don't have a good relationship with his father's and sister, and in that case they really holding him back most of the time (contrary to his relationship with his mother and later newphews).
In this episode, Louie Duck was like Ace Duck Attorney.
That trial was truly a kangaroo court. Not counting Glomgold and Ma' Beagle because they recognize themselves their cases were a sham, even in Magica's the ONLY thing Scrooge did "karmically wrong" was exploiting for businnes the town's people transformed into animals. What, should I feel sorry for two literal evil overlords who turned people into animals for fun and probably killed them when they were bored (remember the Phantom Blot backstory)? What happened to Poe was totally deserved. And about Magica's beg for help to Scrooge, eh, he didn't have any obligation to do anything for such terrible people. Also I find unlikely that she would have ACTUALLY kept her word to give away her powers even if he helped her. Was he rude? Yeah. Did they deserve it? Oh, totally.

i used to watch the original ducktales as a kid and to see it rebooted i thought it was going to be bad. yet, after seeing some episodes it was pretty good, i liked the boys got more character traits and even sounding different, got to see more of donald, and learning more about who the boys parents were at least who their mom was. della duck is an interesting character, and i like the talespin and darkwing duck side stories nicely done. and l love lena and webby, they are my favorite characters. the only think i didn't really care for is making doofus a self centered spoiled brat, i liked the original doofus, kind, loyal, and such a sweet natured kid. yeah, i know they had to make changes but this is the only complaint i actually had, everything else was pretty decent.
as much as louie should've apologized to doofus to not have a nemesis, i'd say he and the others brought their misfortunes to themselves
glomgold left the reporters to die and even he got the ruby, he would spend it in something stupid to boost his ego like a 5 stories tall statue of himself
scrooge won the deed fair and square and any other than scrooge would have outsmarted them
magica deserve losing her brother for hijacking the kingdom and turning that guy in a goat and poe enabled her to do it, scrooge was defending himself, maybe without magica the town took back their money

This reminds me of the Batman Trial, in that the villains created the very thing they hate the most.
if they do not give Timetraveler/Timestorm launchpad decent screentime, it will not be a good ending.
That one dislike is from the villain's shared account.
That whole thing was a kangaroo curt, its ridiculous with the exception of Magica Scrooge had not wronged any of them and did not deserve to have anything taken because he hurt their feelings.
Was I the only one who thought Grandpappy Beagle was Ma Beagle’s grandfather?? All the reviews I’ve seen have called him her father.
I know other characters like Bubba the cave duck appear on the season 3 poster. So here's hoping they all do appear, somehow....
i really think this series did a better job with poh than the original, in the other one we didn't see much sibling interaction between him and magica, they could have use magica raven from the comics and it wouldnt have change much, and while here poh has just a minor apperence is more interesting
Not just the minor appearance, but also Magica's dynamic with Lena. This episode gives them new context, because it suggests that Lena's insistence on calling Magica her aunt comes from some part of Magica desperate to have even part of her brother back. She denies it at every turn, but clearly that loss lingers

Another thing Interesting in this episode , I feel like the arm wrestling scam was a reference to the mechanical Turk-a scam of a master AI chess player before computers were ever built. In an earlier episode where we saw his parents (and sister in another one), showed he had not the most ideal relation with them. Perhaps how he had acted during his first encounter with Magica stems from that?

For what we see in the trailers I think they gonna left something unsolved in propourse. With drawing duck series, look like Fenton's and other characters gonna showing in the series, as sopourthing characters, like lina and boyd at being friends of Gosalyn can Drawing cross paths with Magical and Akita. Magica could be a good reason to introduce Morgana to the show.
So random thought came to me while watching this.
Lena calls Magica her Aunt, and we know Lena is a shadow or at least came from a shadow. So maybe Lena was summoned from Poe's shadow?

Why are they trying to make you feel bad for Magica? I found that part very insufferable, Scrooge shouldn't feel sorry for her toxic behavior towards her brother. Acted like a child, faces on consequences. That would be all on her.

honestly, I dont think scrooge should've escaped from the last trial, he was completely able to save poe but instead he got greedy for the money, he didn't even return the money, and yet in the end he got of the hook, he literally let poe die. scrooge should've of got away innocent.
To be fair Scrooge has become a much better person and saved the world countless of times,while Magica,Glomgold and Ma Beagle were all evil from the start and still are in the present.
Magica and Poe both had it coming. Scrooge should have returned the money to the townspeople though.

Maybe she trusted people in the past but her husband left or hurt her in some way. And perhaps her kids died. These are things that would make people not so trusting of others people. Or webby is adopted.

There is nothing redeeming about this reboot doofus compared to his old one. I hate him and the cringe humor he brings with him. In all honesty, I guess the triplets just needed a foil around their age.
