I’ve driven my 1985 C4 on several Hot Rod Power Tours and enjoyed every moment of each trip. Some tours were about 1500 miles round trip and never had a problem on any tour. Love my Corvette! John.
This just popped back up on my yt feed. I drove through Arizona from Las Vegas to see the Grand Canyon with my Dad and daughter this past July. Such beautiful and peaceful views the entire way!!
I have not yet counted how often I watched also this clip from you... love Arizona ❤ ... many thanks from your C4 friend & driver in Germany. Thumb up!
I just picked up my first ever C 4 a 1994. I was really lucky to find her locally here in Eastern North Carolina from the 2nd. owner. 38,000 original miles on her. Red paint, convertible with a black top and gray leather . I’m really excited to start driving but plan on doing some preventative maintenance first nothing major. Always garaged and out of the elements. Years ago I had a 61 and 2 stunning 64 coupes. Approaching 74 years old in December I was actually glad she’s automatic! lol I am so glad I found your channel. Have watched a number of videos and definitely impressed. Thanks so much for all the great content. This has about to be one of the best videos i have seen when you were running down the highway it made me feel like i was in my 85 getting it out April 17 from storage thanks
Nice Video I just started my Corvette channel I recently purchased a 1975 Convertible. Nice to see cars being driven. I just subscribed.I like your C4 I have always been a fan of them.
Beautiful scenery out there in AZ, Chris!! The C4 looks great, damn good mpg!! Those TPI 350’s are good engines, and the TH-700R4 is a good transmission as well. Good combo! Had the same drivetrain in my 1989 Trans Am GTA. Damn reliable!!
Went downstairs and watched it on the tv, Better than tablet lol. It is so beautiful out there, Wife and I talked about moving to Arizona, friends in Mesa . They love it moved 2 years ago from N.Y. Subscribed now😃😉
Great video enjoyed the trip immensely, it is truly beautiful out their. Nice corvette that really did drive and not get very hot, i was surprised at how cool it ran. take care from Alabama.
Couldn’t agree more that our cars are to be driven. I just returned from the Sebring race weekend where on Saturday there were about 250 corvettes present! Sported my “My Corvette Life” tee for the event! Following the race I drove across Florida by myself, twice! All in 1750 miles on my 95 C4. Just about to turn over 60,000 miles. No issues, averaged 19.6 mpg for the total trip, Georgia to Fla and back. Drive them! C8 about 2 months out now, and it’ll get the same treatment!!
Great video Chris. I just made that drive recently. Unfortunately I was in my Ram Power Wagon and not my C4. Your video makes me want to take the Vette up that way. I'm in the East Valley so Globe is just a short jaunt up the mountain.
Great car, nice trip! Thanks for sharing! I have the same seatbelt issue with my Trans Am. My seats don't have a seatbelt guide, either. A dull sawblade slowly cutting into the neck. That's a pretty accurate description. I know the feeling. lol
This has got to be one of the best videos I've seen on your C4. The editing is excellent and the car sounded great. Your C4 would be right at home here on Oahu! Mahalo for sharing!
Great video. I'm in Phoenix and a fellow C4 owner. One of my favorite drives is highway 89A from Prescott, through Jerome and onto Sedona and Flagstaff. I've been through Salt River Canyon and that's good as well. However when I go I like to proceed onto Show Low and Pinetop, and then return via highway 260 and then back down the Beeline. Either way, our state has some awesome drivi g and scenery!
I have a 30K miles C5Z now and just love it but I used to have a 60K miles '96 CE LT4. I really liked that car and it definitely felt very planted and handled great, on smooth roads. On rough roads, it jostled around a lot and would lose grip. The LT4 felt a lot stronger than the rated 330 horses too. I had a short shifter installed by a guy in Phoenix area (don't remember his name but he was on the Corvette Forum) and it really improved the shifting. Overall, it was a great car but the C5Z is just better in every way. I wouldn't mind having another LT4 car too though . 👍
Chris I live in Florida, as we have some beautiful views thats AMAZING! Our state is flat as a pancake looks like a fun drive I own a C5 as well I know your driving a C4 but my C5 has 265K on it and runs like a top! convert. I have put a lot of money in her but she was all most ready for the crusher when I got her. Ah, the iron small block 350. In Corvette guise it sounds like a million horsepower - which is more important than having a million horsepower BTW. And funnily when you did the fast forward thing at 3 something minutes, it sounded like an '80s Indy car :)
Great, great, GREAT video. The car sounds perfect. A lot of people complained about the C4's ride (too hard, stiff, harsh, etc.) but, after driving from western Pennsylvania to Bowling Green and back, I absolutely disagree and I'm with you --- C4's are really comfortable. Like you, I averaged 26 mpg on my trip through WV, VA, TN, and KY. LOVED the drive through the mountains of WV. Again, thanks for taking me along through your part of our country. And, good job on your C4. Well done, sir.👍
I'm blown away with your gas mileage also. The C4 also sounds fairly quiet having no mufflers. I've been through Arizona most of all of it but on a HONDA 1800 Gold Wing Motorcycle. This included a couple of trips through both sides of the Grand Canyon. Not much on the North side but South Side sure makes up for it. You correct the scenery is ABSOLUTELY SPECTACULAR. That was a great cruise, thanks for sharing. There are some great back roads around Phoenix, it's nice to see. I'm from Canada, my mom has a winter place in Phoenix, I've gone to visit the last winters, but am not able to get there this year with the border closed due to COVID, so this was like going on a mini trip. I really have to figure out a weather window and route to get my C6 there one day. The dollar level for amount of enjoyment factor seems really good on your C4, and it's great to see it doing well on the backroads while also comfortable for hours, so seems really well set for cruising. That would make it appealing to keep as a cruiser or to anyone looking for a similar experience that isn't looking for heavy mods. You're so right Chris. You don't have to spend a lot of money to own a fun car you can be proud of. At an entry point of (lets say) $8k as your C4 sits, you have a very respectable ticket into any Cars and Coffee or cruise night, and...you can park right next to the guy with the Ferrari. Did you gain any weight after the Mexican lunch? (lol) Just a really awesome video! c4 sound great! I get about the same mpg, but i drive like an old man! (my children tell that all the time) Keep the videos coming.
Chris. I'm looking to purchase a C4 now. I see them with low,low miles. Im afraid to buy one out of state and drive back. I hear if they sit and not driven it's a crap shoot making it back home. Have you any thoughts,or am I just worried a little to much. Thank for sharing you're videos, she sounds beautiful.
I personally would not buy a super low mileage car and drive it home a long distance. Find a car with a moderate amount of miles (50-100k) preferably with service records.

I love all corvettes. However I have soft spot for c5s. I don't see you move it much lately. Is it your Sunday driver?
I drive it at least once a week. I just don’t post about it as much.
Did you gain any weight after the Mexican lunch? (lol) Just a really awesome video! c4 sound great! I get about the same mpg, but i drive like an old man! (my children tell that all the time) Keep the videos coming.
👍
What exhaust do you have?
Nice trip. Sometimes you just need to put those auto transmissions in 3rd and let 'em sing for a bit.
It has 1,2,D, and OD
Yup, D is 3rd.
@@mycorvettelife Thank you for the rapid response. Ill focus to the 60,70k range. Thanks again for sharing your experience&educating us all. Drive safe.
What's next? C3 or C6?
I’ll probably go newer before I go older again.
The ass end of that c4 looks so much better than the c5.
