You forgot two for Chapter 4: when Impostor Mario is defeated, instead of blinking back into his real form, there is a new tearing animation. And, Impostor Mario’s design has the hat lowered instead of large, black, soulless eyes, making him look more like he’s evil and not possessed.
One change that's also part of Chapter 4 is that when playing as nameless Mario, all area themes of that Chapter are replaced with much creepier-sounding ones.
Exactly. You can hear a a bit of the creepier version of twilight town in 12:30. Sadly these versions are not available in the Sound Gallery yet :(
In the original, when Goombella tattles Doopliss’s parrot, she’ll simply tattle the room you’re in. This was an error that was fixed in the remake. GameXplain made a video about this. Check it out!
One thing I should mention about the Imposter Mario fight. If you KO Doopliss before Vivian shows up (aka within 2 turns), dude will just get KO’d. However, if Doopliss is KO’d in the remake within 2 turns, dude will just summon a life shroom (I know it’s life mushroom, but it’s still life shroom in my heart) and get 10 HP back. Guy doesn’t even share with the partners if they get KO’d.
I love how each of the partners has their own theme now.
1. Grubba isn't exactly slim himself. And 2. Grubba calls Mario skinny earlier on in the chapter, so it's kinda funny in the original that he'd suddenly go to calling him chubby at the end.

1. Not only is Doopliss’ battle theme extended, but there’s also two versions of it, one for his normal fight and one for his imposter Mario fights
2. There’s a big rock in front of the shack where you get the key that you have to push out of the way
3. Vivian’s trans dialogue is restored and re-localized from the original Japanese version
4. In reference to Doopliss taking Mario’s outfit based on the badge, the twilight town person who mentions how Mario is dressed when Doopliss takes his place will also describe Mario’s outfit colors differently

5:06 you missed a big rock in chapter 4 in twilight trail you need to push that wasn't there in the original game to get the black key.
Which is a nice new thing in the remake.

@@Solarsplash64it's because it is mentioned in Chapter 4 that Vivian was actually born as a guy and realizes that he felt that he was supposed to be a girl so Vivian is Transgender

@@Solarsplash64 the three shadows is more akin to the neutral name the group had in the original japanese.
In the jpn gc version of the game, Vivian calls the group the shadow sisters to which beldam reprimands her saying that there's only 2 sisters and that Vivian is a male. The English gc version of the game censors Vivian being transgender and has her call the group shadow beauties, to which beldam says that there are only 2 beauties, and Vivian is ugly.
Now in the switch version, beldam's complaint with Vivian calling the group shadow sisters is that it doesn't sound mysterious enough. Vivian says that she likes when beldam calls her her sister, hinting at her being trans in this version before she tells mario herself when she joins in chapter 4.
I think it's really funny that they uncensored Vivian being trans but still censored beldam being transphobic

You missed one back in Post-Chapter 1. After defeating hooktail, the picture in Koops’ house is updated. Instead of an old photo of his dad, it’s a newer picture of both Koops and his dad! They took a new pic :D
Here’s something that you probably didn’t know that I found. When you talk to certain Twilighters after you beat doopliss the first time some will actually mention the color of Mario’s clothes at the time if you had changed them to Wario’s Clothes.
In the remake atomic boo now makes the same sounds as king boo and boolossus.
Any plans to continue this series? I've really been enjoying it and gives you an appreciation for all the little details they've updated
Here’s one In chapter 4 in the remake there’s a purple rock that’s blocking your way in the shack, where in the original there isn’t one
I remember during battle when the audience would try and throw something at you and you hit them , theyd run off with a high pitch girly scream. They dont do it in the remake 😢

Both Vivian and mini-yoshi no longer force you to do a mini-hop while dismounting. So Mario no longer accidentically jumps on spiky enemies.
Also every enemy has a "detected" animation and no longer charge you instantly. This gives you more time to evade them.
Is there a reason why you didn’t talk about the change in Vivian’s dialogue when she join? (that you can see at 9:45)
That was in the original Gamecube release in EU territories, nothing was changed.
@@maxspecs Well yes and no, even in the countries (like mine) were Vivian’s transidentity was not erased, the dialogue was not the same (is was not that clear) and so far even little detail was pick up in those videos (like the Grubba one) so that why I was wondering.

In the remake enemies and some bosses now laugh at mario and his partners when they take get hit by the stage hazards and audience.
Some bosses? I don’t know any bosses that won’t laugh at Mario or his partner after getting hit by the stage or audience.

Hello there! I am a German player and I needto say something about Hooktail. From what I can tell is that in the original German version she was also afraid of frogs like the Japanese version. However I can't tell if it's in other languages too

When Mario gives the letter to Bobbery, he visibly bows his head as a show of respect.
If one were to tattle an enemy before reaching said enemy’s home location (such as tattling the Pokies in the Pit of 100 Trials before reaching Glitzville) said enemy’s description will list where you currently are (The Pit in this case) along with an etc, ensuring that first-time players aren’t accidentally spoiled the names of new locations.
Upon recruiting Ms. Mowz the tutorial for her is no longer in first person, being in third-person like every other partner.
To make backtracking through Keelhaul Key easier, a spring has been put where the platforming section with Yoshi takes place, ensuring you only have to do said platforming section once.
The music for Keelhaul Key gains a kazoo during the brief time Flavio accompanies you.
Upon rescuing the stranded sailor toads towards the end of the chapter, there’s now a shopkeeper you can buy and sell items from (most likely to help with the upcoming boss battle against Cortez)
As nice visual touches, When Cortez teleports in, you can now see visible gemstones and other treasure in his whirlwind. As the cutscene transitions to battle Cortez’s head lunges at a battle ready Mario. And as the curtain raises and the battle proper starts, Cortez (in his first form) dynamically drops from the ceiling as opposed to already being on stage (this is also done with the Smorgs battle in Chapter 6).
In the chapter 5 Peach Interlude, after she drinks the invisibility potion and gets undressed, the music changes to something more stealthy and you can hear her bare feet walking.
A recurring melody in the remake is “Farewell”, usually taking place in the cutscene after each interlude. Chapters 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 all have different versions (much like the battle themes).
The bush with the wedding ring now audibly gleams to show that’s where the ring is.
When the battle against Doopliss begins, you can see the Creepy Steeple bell moving and chiming as the curtain falls.
If one were to somehow reduce Doopliss’s HP to 0 in his first battle without triggering his body switch (he does it at half health or lower) he will use a Life Shroom to revive himself and do the body swap, ensuring there’s no way to bypass the swap.
As well, if the player defeats Imposter Mario in 1 move during the final battle in Creepy Steeple, he will now use a Life Mushroom.
This is to ensure that Vivian returns to join Mario officially, as opposed to the original game assuming that you wouldn’t beat him on the first turn and just having her appear out of nowhere.
I love how Doopliss says specifically "You guessed my name, and now stuff hurts sometimes!", the wording he chooses is amazing
it's makes sense that Mario doesn't make noise bc if you here "hoo! ha! wahoo!" you know that's Mario and whatever noises doopliss is making in imitation isn't
By Doopliss, it's darker, or better, dark-pitched.
Change that wasn't mentioned, but shown on screen, all versions are now aligned with the original Japanese text when it comes to VIvian showing that she is a trans woman.

Fun fact: Doo_liss' theme is utter _erfection in the remake of _a_er Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. This is not an o_inion, this is a straight u_ fact.
A couple of more differences in Chapter 4 that are than the original, mainly with the Chapter Boss, Doopliss. Once you defeat him the 1st time, after the battle, it looks more obvious that a Switch-o-roo had occurred. The 2nd is after the Final Time you defeat him in Chapter 4, where he turns back to normal & Mario gets his body back as well. Also, thoughts on seeing a remix of Bonetail later on?
Got 2 facts for you: 1. There's apparently a new hidden block in Cortez's room on his ship that the remake added. 2. In the Princess Peach scene after Chapter 5, when she's invisible and walks into an X-Naut, the X-Naut will now have a question mark appear above their head.
The block near Cortez can only be obtained during chapter 5. Once you complete the chapter, you won’t be able to get it. A super mushroom is in the hidden block.
Little fact about Chapter 5 in the original when are on Keelhaul Key and Flavio joins your party for a short period of time it will play the normal Keelhaul Key theme
In the remake when Flavio joins your party for a short period of time and you listen to the Keelhaul Key theme again while Flavio is with you the theme will be a bit different you will actually hear a little Kazoo in the background which I find it funny
since no one wants Flavio around

In the original game, once you guess Doopliss’s name, his appearance theme keeps playing.
However in the remake once you guess his name, his theme stops playing.🤔
One detail i picked up during thr battle theme for Chapter 5 for a snippet you can hear the classic world 1-1 theme from SMB on NES
yeah, i know the entire soundtrack was remixed and updated, but what i cant tell is whether or not i should take you using it in the outro as an acknowledgement of exactly how doopliss' theme changes, seeming to gain an entire extra section so the song doesnt loop so quickly that is very obvious to longtime fans of the original...
Maybe you mentioned it in another video but, there's a small change when you have to get the black key for the cursed chest in chapter 4. In the original it's just outside town in a little shack but in the remake they put a boulder in the way of the shack's door that you have to move.

Omg, I've played this game several times since it came out on the GC, and I never knew Atomic boo existed. I just thought that the boos would dog pile you or instantly kick you out of the castle😅
If an skeleton from hooktails castle has fallen apart you couldn't hit the one behind it with an hammer in the original. Now you can even hit an skeleton behind an skeleton that has fallen apart with an hammer.
I love these videos, seeing the differences between the original game and the remake are so good.
If you are riding Yoshi and touch an enemy to start a battle, Mario will enter the stage riding Yoshi and hop off.
What’s your favourite chapter of this game?
I doubt that Nintendo will ever update this remake now that they’ve released it, but here’s what I’d want if they do: The partners from the 1st game in various locations in the game, backgrounds that correspond with the area in the battle master fights, maybe a way to access the right side of the final room of Pirate’s Grotto, and I just thought of more but almost immediately forgot them.
By the way i test it out If you got a different fiele whit a different yoshi Color you save than the Coler on the Titel screen switch but don’t worry if you switch back and Save than the color of this save is back again
