Tom and Jerry and the Chocolate Factory "I've Got a Golden Ticket" Comparison

First off.. Magnificent Cover of "Golden Ticket" from Jess Harnell, who voiced Wakko Warner in Animaniacs and a slew of others.
Lots of talk has gone around the last few weeks about this film. One thing I cannot call it however is "soul less". I decided to compare the two "Golden Ticket" versions in the original film and the Tom and Jerry film. It is so loyal to the source material and choreography that I had to post a video about it.
While I will say that the movie is not perfect by any stretch, there are sections of it that do capture the kind of magic the original had because of the love put into it. For those that remember Tom and Jerry back in the day when they'd do shorts paying homage to things of that time, THIS was the scene that felt the most like that.
If this was a 3-4 minute short, it probably would be up there with a lot of them.
It both warms and hurts my heart that Tom and Jerry paid more homage to the original than the remake movie Hollywood put out a few years ago. I hope you enjoy this small bit of magic as much as I did making it and realizing just how much love, craft, and attention to detail went into this sequence. While the movie as a whole may be lacking, there are moments that deserve credit, THIS is definitely one of them, in my humble opinion :) Enjoy!!
