To the fans of Donnalyn Bartolome, and to Miss Bartolome herself. First of all, on behalf of the Koreans featured on the video, I, would like to apologize for the faulty explanation/interpretation given in the video. I should have explained the song based on the lyrics myself rather than relying, and believing on articles that I thought were from reputable sources. The explanations featured on this series have always been that way, sourced in order to prevent misunderstandings like this. But it still is my mistake, and I take full responsibility. Knowing the language myself, I should have based the explanation on the lyrics instead of the articles mentioned, and I should have done more research on who the women featured in the video were and what stories they told. I would like to express that this reaction video was not made to defame or slander Miss Donnalyn. Everything that happened in this video regarding Di Lahat’s Q&A segment was the result of a faulty understanding, and explanation of “Di Lahat,” thus leading those reacting to not fully grasp what the song was truly about. As soon as I read the comments regarding such, I did clarify everything to the Koreans who reacted on this episode through a private message. I hope that this would not happen again, and I will try my best to prevent it from happening again. I hope that this apology gets to everyone who needs to see it, and if anyone prefers that we take down the video, we will do it to avoid further misunderstandings.
Please do know that this series was not made to harm Filipino artists in any way. Rather, it was made to introduce or re-introduce today’s OPM to foreign viewers on our channel (since we gained them from our Filipinos React to K-pop series), and a generation of Filipinos who have disconnected from their own music. We wish nothing but the best for OPM in the near future.
Once again, our sincerest apologies to, and everyone. Spread the love, and God bless! 💜
    - EL

The reaction was great but " 'Di Lahat " was misunderstood. It's not about women empowerment. It's about pretty girls that still get cheated despite of their looks and pretty girls that are cheaters in the eyes of some men.
There are some "patama" scenes in the MV that they woudn't understand 'cause they don't know the issue. The part where they in the balcony showcased pretty girls that got cheated by not so handsome men.
The part where they dance in their wardrobe was just a dance part and the rest was just to show the diversity of beauty of Filipina women.
It's not totally about Women Empowerment.

Hello! (Copied and pasted) All the information mentioned are based on interviews which featured Donnalyn. I myself knew that there seemed to be a disconnection between the actual song and her explanations, but we decided to stick to how Donnalyn herself interprets her own song. Here are the links below. ☺️

EL's Planet This reaction video is disrespectful. I would have forgiven it if this channel didn’t try to justify it by pinning a comment foolishly low-key slandering Donnalyn, siting sources that proves everything written in the pinned info wrong. Donnalyn interpreted her song the same way millions of its listeners did. You would have been forgiven ‘cause you’re korean and its okay to misunderstand the song or the music video itself but pinning defaming info about Donnalyn and siting sources that comment readers won’t click is objectionable. Readers, read the sited sources. Donnalyn was clear about this being about stereotyped beautiful women causing only pain to men.
The lady who said that this video is about empowering women but it’s not what the mv showed and the lady who talked about what’s off about the Di Lahat music video because of it having luxurious elements just proves that this reaction video is shallow.
You two didn’t notice that Donnalyn included all kinds of women in that MTV. A transgender woman, an overweight woman, 5 Morenas(tan women): Nadine Lustre, Zeinab Harake, Aeriel, Kelly Welt and Lauren Reid. Tall and short women. Light skinned full and half Filipinas: Loisa as full Anne as half etc. Most importantly the 4 known abused women by their husbands at the balcony part. If that’s not women empowerment to you, I don’t know what is. The luxurious side of the music video to me simply symbolized women’s high value. Not Donnalyn’s gucci cap. That’s just simply her style but why was that even a deal? Find something that feels right about the MV not what you feel is ‘off’ especially if you are watching a foreign video that’s so meticulously made and directed by an artist, there are layers of details you won’t understand as someone who is not Filipino and you should be aware of that. You are responsible for what you say. Next time, turn on the damn SUBTITLES. I’m sure it’s for people like you.
For those who won’t read the sited sources:
“Basically, the song contradicts the notion that pretty girls are only out to break hearts. As compared to when men do it and brush it off by saying it’s normal. Classic double standards. “ -Nicki Wang, Manilastandard.net
“Being a man shouldn’t excuse you for your wrongdoings-cheating, whatever. Lalaki kasi, eh-that’s what they say. That’s not how it should be. If you messed up, then you messed up-you don’t try to justify it by saying you’re a man, and that’s simply your nature,” Donnalyn pointed out. -Trinity Audio, Philippine Inquirer
So what are these Koreans talking about? When a korean group or artist gets this kind of treatment we Filipino fans tear them down. Donnalyn is our own, she deserves more than that. Apologize, this is forgiveable. Don’t justify you’re making it worse.

The ' Di LAHAT ' is a song about Pretty girls that in the eyes of others are always the giver of pain and sorrow'.The song is not about that girls empowerment instead not all Pretty girls are Cheaters and MS.Donnalyn the singer/composer/director Contra or answer the song of Andrew E. that "Humanap ka ng Pangit at ibigin mo ng tunay" meaning find an ugly one and love truely instead of pretty girls.
and there's a lyrics in the song ' kahit pangit ngayon ay nagloloko ' meaning even ugly girls/boys now a days is a cheater so "Di LAHAt" or "Not All" is a nice song for some girls with pretty face. And for me it's not totally an empowerment.

Nah.. Donnalyn's song is more about telling the guys that not all beautiful women hurt men. There are those who will be loyal.
As for the female empowerment thing, I guess the reactors expect a more aggressive version of it while Donnalyn showcases a gentle, normal, everyday version of it.
There many shades of female empowerment... not just what you see in American MVs like Nicki Minaj's and Cardi B's.

These reactions are slightly pale. When you react the first video ' Di Lahat', you're thinking Korean or just literal to the point that all of you failed to recognize that the video displayed one aspect that really concerns women especially nowadays. It still exist these days the term called 'double standard' where girls are judged according to their looks or chased and adored by boys because of their physical beauty. The video simply tells us to stop stereotyping girls.

It would've been better for them to have watched Di Lahat with the subs on so they'd get the message better. It's not exactly how they perceive it to be. Beauty is not an indicator of low morality or low intelligence. Yes, I'm pretty, but that doesn't mean I'm bad. I may like dressing up, pampering myself and appreciating clubs and such, but that doesn't mean I'm a shallow, petty, flirty woman. That's more of what they're trying to say.

The explanation wasn't enough for Donnalyn Bartolome's song Di lahat. The girls in the music video who are "beautiful" or "maganda" are the girls who went viral because they get cheated on by their men. The sash represents not only different dialects but also they are different types of girls. Morean (brown skin) Thic girls (Chubby girls) Transwoman (LGBT). It's all about women empowerment. Not about they you wear. Which is also one of the messages of the MV. That girls can wear what they want. And be proud of their own skin. Regardless of what society will think. Thic, brown, white, trans. It's a celebration of being a women. 😊 I thank you! 😘

This reaction video is disrespectful.
Don’t justify you’re making it worse, EL’s Planet.

Hello France Mela, as well as the fans of Donnalyn Bartolome, and to Miss Bartolome herself. First of all on behalf of the Koreans featured on the video, I, would like to apologize for the faulty explanation/interpretation given in the video. I should’ve explained the song based on the lyrics myself rather than relying, and believing on articles that I thought were from reputable sources. Everything that happened in this video regarding Di Lahat’s Q&A segment was a result of a faulty understanding, and explanation of “Di Lahat,” thus leading those reacting to not fully grasp what the song was truly about.
However, I hope you do understand that our channel’s reaction videos have always been ones that never show subtitles to the people while reacting to the music video. We do this in order to keep the reactions raw, different, and unexpected from the usual ones on TH-cam. Nevertheless, it’s because of this incident that in future episodes, we will be showing the lyrics right after all three music videos have been played before the Q&A segment. This way, we can still have real reactions, with a broader understanding of what the song is about. Furthermore, we do not remove or filter the comments mentioned by those reacting, and we still would like to keep it this way since we believe that it shows a big opportunity for our music industry to learn, and grow if the need be.
Once again, our sincerest apologies to you, and everyone. Spread the love, and God bless! 💜
      - EL

REAL TALK: i know i’m late but this reaction video for donnalyn’s di lahat is so rude and it literally just disregarded the real meaning of the song. if only you guys used right subtitles or read it’s english lyrics you would’ve understand instead of basing it on a interview which the topic wasn’t about the real meaning of the song. Also on the bikini comment part that was so off like wtf is wrong with confident women, y’all should stop tearing women down because of what they choose to wear. If you don’t like to wear bikini then keep that to yourself you don’t need to bring women down. This reaction is very disappointing. Totally lacking could’ve done better research. sorry but it is what it is.

DONALYN'S song means don't generalize your thought about every single thing. Because like how not all pretty girls will hurt you and how men sometimes do the things how they judge the girls. Sometimes when you doesn't expect it the most is where you'll get hurt harder and be disappointed so much.

Most people in donnalyns mv got cheated on except the celebrities. Its like saying for us to erase the assumption that pretty women will just hurt you, instead some of them got cheated on and it also says stop making it as an excuse to be foolish in a relationship. The mv just encourages women to take care of themselves, be themselves, be beautiful and not be outshined by uncontrollable circumstances.

Regarding the explanation for Donnalyn's "Di Lahat" : All the information mentioned are based on interviews which featured Donnalyn. I myself knew that there seemed to be a disconnection between the actual song and her explanations, but we decided to stick to how Donnalyn herself interpreted her own song. (Just like what we did for our reaction to Shanti Dope's Amatz) Especially since she wrote it and directed the music video. Here are the links below. ☺️
Manila Standard - Donnalyn breaks stereotypes in new MV ‘Di Lahat’ (Wang, 2019)
    manilastandard.net/showbitz/celebrity-profiles/297943/donnalyn-breaks-stereotypes-in-new-mv-di-lahat-.html

Edit: I'm really sorry as well if we weren't able to explain it based on the song's lyrics itself. If ever we do encounter something like this again in the future, we will do our best to explain both the artist's interpretation, and the lyrics itself to those reacting.
