Does this control panel needs any programming? Or it is just a “plug and play”? My 2016 Malibu Limited’s AC only works at High Speed (Moving the selector at the first position), any recommendations?

So, my vehicle works on almost every setting, but the front face vents button? I’ve been using the windshield setting to get some cool air from the A/C. Should I change the unit on mine also? It makes a clicking noise in the dash when changing it to the face setting.

2017 malibu - Mine just went out, were I live it's alot of humidity maybe over 70% If any moisture gets in these things, they are done ? It also popped the small red 15amp fuse. I replaced it and it has not blown but the HVAC unit does not come on ? So I'm thinking it's time for a new one ?
Their are two caponants to the system and without a scan tool it's hard to say which one it is without data from you. I would say yes that's probably it. This one had coffee I think in it.

@@KingBarberz yeah those a cheap also. This one the module wasn't getting say commands what so ever so luckily iy was an easy cheap fix for them. Nit sure where that module is
I’m having an issue with my 2015 Malibu. They climate control panel has been replaced twice. First with a used panel, then with a new one. It still won’t light up. My friend was told it may be a ground wire but he’s not certain though. Do you have any suggestions?
I do not sorry. You just need to have it diagnosed by a tech not load up the parts cannon and fire. If it was a ground lights is the least of your worries. Tons of stuff wouldn't work right.

Would this be the reason ur heat/air doesn’t work? And the lights for it doesn’t come on? Mine out fully now but at first it would cut off for a week or two then come back on but it still would blow heat out. Now it does nothing
Without seeing scan data can't day for sure but sure sounds like it to me. I know this one didn't light up because someone spilled coffee in it. Heat was the only thing that didn't work

oh ok, my car has the same, but my battery broke and I tried to turn it on several times and put a new battery but the climate panel control was molten. A mechanic charges me 250 dlls for the panel and 180 dlls for do it. so thanks i'll do it
I just ran across your video. Having trouble with my nieces ac on her 16 Malibu. Checked the compressor, fuse, and relay. All good. Took the positive cable off for a few minutes. Started the car ac worked like it's supposed to until this morning. Compressor won't run again. Also the cooling fans run for a couple of minutes after the car is shut off. Can the problem be the control unit? Any ideas
@@AnythingAuto No the car is not over heating. After I put the battery cable back on last night the ac worked like it's supposed to. The fans shut off with the car. This morning on her way to work the ac stopped cooling. I have power to the fuse the ac relay would not send power to the ac clutch. Checked the relay it's good. After I unhooked the cable and hooked it back up I had power going to the ac clutch relay. Now I'm back to nothing from the relay.
@@yeseniacastillo7504 grab a scan tool and see if it's responsive or buy one and install it and see if it works. Only if diagnosed can it be fixed properly.
Well not all the time the switch has the problem, i had the same issue and i did replace the switch it didn’t fix it stay same thing no power till i found out there is like a module right behind the switch easy to pull out I replaced it and back to work even I don’t have to replace my ac switch

@@AnythingAuto mechanics lied and i thought so. I was told I couldn’t replace it myself because I need to hook up my car to a computer to reprogram it. I checked every fuse and they are all good but my climate control unit doesn’t turn on
the scan tool is nice to use so you can see live data like if you turn on the unit does it respond or not. but back when i started i didnt have any of that fancy stuff. it was either outside panel that was flooded with coffee or the module behind it. i chose right. @@NouDooki

I wouldn't. I'd have the actuators looked at. I can't tell you to load up the parts cannon and fire.

If the cooling fans are running i would look more into the car over heating. If the cars engine gets hot it shuts the ac off for safety

I can't change the airflow to defrost, the icon lights up but nothing
If you can get your hands on a scan tool you can see if the panel is giving commands or if you move the switches nothing changes.

Your 100% correct. Very easy repair. It helps to have a scan tool to see thr commands and stuff.
