I grabbed one for a coworker/boss who's using an absolutely awful knife a vendor sent along with a product order(pre-stripped screws, tip down only with the pocket clip covering the pivotscrew, assisted, poorly, unknown steel, blade rock... the list goes on lol). Funny though, as that was the knife that started my pocket knife journey about a year and a half ago realizing a pocket knife could be truly one handed. Haven't given it to him yet as I just got it two days ago (a Friday). Took it a part, cleaned and oiled it, stropped it up, little 242 on the pivot... Man. I wish I ordered two hahaha. That thing is pretty cool/fun. He'd had a different one, same vendor scenario, that had an orange handle that someone pilfered and he really liked, so ordering an Odium(orange) I had it inscribed "Steven's YFA" (You Fuckin Asshole).
I received this knife several days ago and thought "what a neat little knife". However, I really wasn't grabbing it to carry. One small upgrade changed the Odium into one of my absolute favorite knives I own. That was simply removing the pocket clip. Now it's in my pocket all the time, even if I carry a larger knife with a clip. I love this thing.
I see this question wasn't answered so I feel obligated because I own both (and the archbishop) but, between the Banter and the Odium, I honestly like the Odium more. The only thing the Banter has over the Odium is better steel and that it was designed by Ben Peterson. The Odium; ergonomically it's a masterpiece for a sub 3" knife. It's D2 steel but, if you're using it for edc tasks it's stupid easy to hone and keep sharp. It's non-threatening looking and just looks really cool. The Banter is definitely more...vanilla. The action is solid on both but the Odium has more opening methods making it more fidgetable. In truth, save the $60 and go with the Odium in Ben blue. Or go with both, it's not a bad way to spend less than $200 on 2 knives. But if you have to go with just one, the Odium is the way to go especially if you're a little more budget conscious.
I had the Mini Archbishop, but I have misplaced it,love it great little knife.I look forward to add the Civivi Odium to my collection. I have as of yet to be disappointed by a Civivi knife.this
The Odium was too small for me to flip comfortably. I sold mine right away. The Archbishop was fine and a keeper. The Odium maybe best for smaller hands I'm assuming.
Earlier this week I saw you use Lil Native (pocket dump), and you mentioned it again here. Did you ever get the Bestech Goblin though? Just curious to see if you found any downsides since your review for it.
Just picked one up brand new for $24.

Just picked up from a deal on Amazon for $14. I'm glad I picked it up.

The g10 lacks much traction. Seems a bit slick.
I just ordered a Civivi odium new for 45.00 Buck's..so i got one one the way with carbon fiber handles..
Spyderco need to replace those ugly screws on the little native. Make it flush with the scales.
What is better civivi odium or civivi elementum??
I agree that the Archbishop has the better clip. But both knives are a great value for the price. good stuff man.
So glad I own both of these and I agree with everything you said Bryan about both! 👍🏻
I was lucky enough to get one of each, both in G10. They’re great little knives.
Stig Lagerfeld ...were they about the same price.
Mick Keim, almost; I got the Mini Archbishop on a Ferrum Forge sale, so it was $20 off the normal price. Otherwise, the Civivi is cheaper.
Really come to love Ferrum Forge designs. The Odium was so sweat that I broke my new years resolution to avoid D2 steel for the year.
Would you go with this or the Banter knife?

Great review. As a left I had to go with the Odium. I really like it. I would have purchased the Arch Bishop if it was lefty friend.
Same
Good shit glad to know my new odium will suit my leftedness
I'm with you a'lot more Lefty out here then people think...

Thank you for not mentioning your "Widdle Pinky"
I thought I did...
I have the mini Archbishop however, still want this. I bet it'll come out in damascus.
Yeah, but which one would you rather nap with in your pocket?

That’s a pretty big hole in the blade.. but kinda dig it..
great knife, but i dont think the code for souther edge does free shipping anymore that stinks there charging 5 dolla now looks like
Just wish it was bigger, great knife.👍😊
Stinger
Love that WE Banter. Where did you get it from Brian? I can’t find one anywhere.
Sold out right now
Its back on Blade HQ
My Civivi Odium would NOT flip open, regardless of blade play.
Solid 5th pocket blade. 💥🔥

Yeah. I reviewed it. I sold it. Haven’t gotten another one. Thanks for reminding me! I do miss that knife.
Maybe it’s just me, but I’m not enthralled by this blade/opening hole style, even on the high end Koenig stuff.
Nice...D2 much better edge retention than 9cr18mov chinese equivalent of the 440B steel
The Archbishop is not ambidexterous, right? Boo.
like basically all ferrum forge. sadly.
