  • This one is a bit of a mystery. This 5" reel came in a film canister with a sticker that says Whoopee John/Navy Band. Written on the paper leader on the tape itself is written "Audio Industries Demonstration."
This is clearly polka - and Whoopee John is from Minnesota where Reynolds Marchant and 3M lived. But what Navy Band? When was this recorded? What songs are these? What's strange is that applause is quickly cut out - these really do sound like they were recorded live in the room.
I believe the song at 9:56 is John Philip Sousa's The Liberty Bell - famous as Monty Python's theme song, so that is probably the "Navy Band" portion of the recording.
If anyone has any ideas on the rest of the music please comment!
