The longest piece is used for the Outhaul part of the pack. The next length is used for the Dyneema part in this guide. The remaning shortest peice is/ can be used as a clew tie for the sail.
Is the mast retention line done correctly? With so much slack the mast could slide out after a capsize and break the deck or mast step tube as you right the boat. I know the cunningham and outhaul would probably prevent it but what's the point of mast retention line with 15cm slack?
Good question! The mast retention line can be adjusted so that it is as tight as you need it to be. This is just a simple guide on how to attach it, but we do recommend its as tight as you can get it. this will then prevent what you mention.
Hi Harry, In the A8332 pack, you receive the following; 600mm of 4mm Dyneema 4700mm of 4mm Dyneema 1000mm of 5mm Dyneema 620mm of 4mm SP12 920mm of 4mm SP12 1710mm of 4mm SP12 1000mm of 5mm Shockcord
These are bad and outdated ways to rig a laser. The hardware is fine. I use the allen vang assembly and top block on my boat btu the way they have things rigged are not good.
Thanks for the feedback Pierson. This pack has remained virtually unchanged since it was created, with the exception of the top block and Vang Key. And as such, we still recommend it is rigged in this way. Understandably there are more modern ways to rig this pack. But, this video/ pack is not aimed at the top-level sailor as they should be confident in rigging their boat in their favourite way. This is a guide video/ pack to help others get started if they are not sure where to start.
The video is nice, but the kit have three red Dynnema, two are almost the same size which one should I use? Thank You

Allen Brothers (fittings) Ltd Yes it is a good guide to get someone started but as they progress they will find somethings that could be changed.

Too complex for me
