You have missed what many have by not checking the manual, it has TRS balanced outputs much like the line 6 HX Stomp. These are cheap and convert the monitor outs to balanced stereo outs (no DI Boxes needed to FOH): From the. manual: "The Monitor Outputs are balanced and can be used with both unbalanced (TS) and balanced (TRS) cables. To feed devices with balanced inputs no DI-boxes are required. If the receiving device offers balanced XLR inputs, a TRS to XLR (male) adapter or cable can be used."
3:42 Finally someone explained my one and only question :). I expected the software to be that intuitive that after copying rigs, it will ask me which 2 pre & 2 post effects i want to keep. Maybe in the future this would be an amazing update and I think easy to develop. Thanks for clarification
Thanks for the great demos and info, John. Can you touch on the Player’s cab IR support? Mono/stereo, sample rate, etc? I’m curious to know if it can actually load third-party IRs as is, or if it transforms them into an EQ curve as the Toaster does. Thanks!
Im totally new to Kemper and im trying to understand if lack of FX loop is problematic (since lots don't have fx loop) If run a line out to FOH / Recording Desk from the player - if my delay and reverb are after the Kemper I won't have those effects in the FOH sound..... problem. So.... do I then go out from the last pedal in the chain AFTER the player as that will also have the amp/cab/mic sound.....? Is a DI box at the end of the chain required...... Or can I just run the delay and reverb INTO the player after my other pedals and not have it distort and jump as badly as it does direct into the front of an amp. Really it's the only thing keeping me from ordering. PS- I know the player has effect slots after the amp but I want to use my preferred analog delay and reverb pedals.
Great introduction! What I didn't understand: Does the Player also have fewer effects to choose from, e.g. less reverb algorithms, than the Stage model?
Hey There ! Thanks for this Informative video. I had 2 questions. 1) I am seeing L and R Outputs in the back aren't those for stereo outputs? i mean if you connect both L and R outputs to a Di boxes can't you run the pedal in stereo? and 2) How can i use this pedal in my pedal board as an amp and cab simulator cause i am not seeing any send return outputs here. Thanks !
Thanks! You could try running direct boxes yes, but Kemper makes no mention of this as it's not their intended output routing. If you're asking about an effects loop, it does not have one. You'd have to put effect pedals before or after the unit directly.
Hey John, Thanks for the demos. Question: Can I run two different outputs at the same time with a different chain for each? In other words, effects only with left or right monitor send to my fender amp, and amp simulator, sim cab, and effects to FOH with XLR out?
So, for someone with a Powered Toaster, who wants to downsize, what will I lose? I don't create profiles. Can't see keeping both. I'm just a home player now, doubt I will ever be on stage again. Hopefully I can use all my current ToneJunkies profiles. I do have one on order 🙂 My issue is my CAB is not powered. May plug it into my Fender FR12, or sell my CAB and get a powered one. Thanks for all this info!
I’m pretty sure that if you want stereo outputs, you would use the TRS left & right outputs, Those are balanced outputs. You would just need TRS 1/4” to male XLR cables.
John I’m a old school guy, but the Kemper has me intrigued Do you have a email so I can send you a picture of my old school Peavey 6 channel mixer amp , could I plug it in though the mixer amp and get the sound out of my large Black Widow PA speakers ? Thanks John
You can safely connect to FOH from the TS unbalanced stereo outputs of the Profile Player by simply connecting each of the unbalanced outputs to a direct box (AKA D.I. Box). The D.I. Box converts a short TS cable that won't add noise to the signal to a balanced XLR or TRS cable. Or, if you wanted to go really high tech and add a way to split the signal from the Profile Player to connect to both a FOH mix and a recording interface at up to 100 meters, check out the Cranborne Audio C.A.S.T. system.
Your first paragraph is something I see everyone who is complaining about the Player's I/O completely ignoring. Thank you for mentioning it. If anything what the unfortunate real deal breaker with this unit is for me is the fact that there's no FX loop.
HI I just received my Kemper profiler player it's a fantastic machine but the XLR output is very low on the contrary the headphone output is more loud and full of dynamic. Can you help me? Thank you.
I was thinking of trying the Kemper Player in a loop, of my Helix or my Tonemaster Pro. I also wanted to try to control the Kemper thru midi commands from each device. I really don't know how to do that though. Are there any resources that you know of to guide me? :)
I don’t own a computer, and would love to hear a demo right out of the box. I currently use a POD HD500 and want to upgrade/downsize, but I worry that this isn’t as user friendly without being able to sit in front of a computer to dial in my sounds
check out the friedman ir x it's a tube preamp with ir's, 200 dollars cheaper than this plastic toy with endless options you don't need, the friedman has better tone clean and dirty and it's easy to use. the kemper player was designed by people who don't even play guitar.
but can it sound like liquid shit? i work on live gigs and meet many young players with modelers those guys are just lost, they stopped talking about guitar tone it gives them a headache after countless hours on the computer with bad results. keep on waiting for the next update maybe this time...

I did! Very nice feature, the connection light must be purple to allow both the bluetooth and wifi connections to work together

Saaaaame!
Is there a noisegate in the input block? I see that there is a noisegate knob on the pedal, is that only controlling if you add a gate on a fx block ?
My question is: what happens when you recover a rig from another Kemper (with more effects)? You can choose the effects to use?
Thanks for the great demos and info, John. Can you touch on the Player’s cab IR support? Mono/stereo, sample rate, etc? I’m curious to know if it can actually load third-party IRs as is, or if it transforms them into an EQ curve as the Toaster does. Thanks!
same as the other kempers. IRs converted to speaker block
Is there seamless switching on this? Similar to scenes. Thanks

Can you use ‘whammy effect w/ expression pedal?
Can you send via the XLR output to the desk with cab sim on and feed a normal cab without the cab sim on via the other outputs at the time?
Yes, you absolutely can. Thanks!
Hey John, Thanks for the demos.
Question: Can I run two different outputs at the same time with a different chain for each? In other words, effects only with left or right monitor send to my fender amp, and amp simulator, sim cab, and effects to FOH with XLR out?
I’m a QC user and I’m thinking about getting the player. Can you go to front of house with cab sim and go to amp on stage without cab sim?

Why not use the quarter inch outs into a stereo direct box. Just a thought!
Exactly. And allow the mono balanced output to be a DI out to facilitate reamping...
Can it plug directly into powered and unpowered FRFR cabinets?
Hi! Great video! Do you have a video that shows how to back up the Lunch Box to Rig Manager and then import some of those files into the Player??
Thanks for the vid.
How do you deal with this unit without it having an On/Off button?
Just plug & unplug the DC cable all the time?
Yes it always makes me cringe but I just unplug it - never had a problem. Thanks for watching
Can we run the XLR out to the FOH with a cab sim and a 1/4 inch out to the FX return of an amp on stage without the cab sim?
John
I’m a old school guy, but the Kemper has me intrigued
Do you have a email so I can send you a picture of my old school Peavey 6 channel mixer amp , could I plug it in though the mixer amp and get the sound out of my large Black Widow PA speakers ?

Hi James, Yes you could definitely plug it into the Peavey mixer and play through the PA. You can email playandtradeguitars at g mail
Does it have the transpose function? Does it take up an effect slot?
It has transpose and it does not take up an fx spot
Nice video. For live use without the computer, how can you see what rig/ preset you're on since the pedal doesn't have a screen?
Thanks! On my phone using Rig Manager

OOOooh! Cranborne Audio C.A.S.T. system - going DIVING for more info on this! THX!!
The Stereo outputs are balanced, don't need a di for these, can run them the same as you would the XLR output
Hey. Nice vid.
Is it possible to connect the player to a guitar cab (not kemper's, just a regular one) and at the same to FOH via this xlr?
Thanks!
yes this should be possible.
Can you use the three buttons as a remote? for clean, heavy and lead and then switch in between.
Yes, that's how I reprogrammed mine basically: th-cam.com/video/uWck0TenEIc/w-d-xo.html Thanks!
HI I just received my Kemper profiler player it's a fantastic machine but the XLR output is very low on the contrary the headphone output is more loud and full of dynamic. Can you help me? Thank you.
Hmm, I usually can only put the master volume at half when playing live using the XLR out, it's very hot - check your rig volumes. Thanks for watching
Thank you for your answer. I’m so stupid, there was a limiter on my Allen & Heath CQ18T. Thank a lot.
Do you need an interface or has it built in for recording in a DAW
The player is a usb interface, yes. Thanks
@@PlayandTradeGuitars all kempers (player, toaster, rack, stage) has now a usb interface since the last update
did you try to stream backing tracks and play on the top with headset? nice video, very informative. Happy holidays for you and your family.
Maybe an XLR TO 1/4 TRS CABLE? that's if the powered cab is TRS? not sure about that either. Thanks

read the manual of kemper. I think they have midi over usb implemented
Can this plug into a Kemper powered cab? I'm not seeing how it could. Thanks
Yes, the stereo monitor out (1/4" unbalanced) go to a powered cab. Thanks!
@@PlayandTradeGuitars So for stereo fx out sounds like I would be out of luck doing that. Thanks

Can factory presets be deleted or overwritten?
Yes any and all using Rig Manager. Thanks for watching!
Monitor out is actually TRS balanced
Wrong. The Monitors outs are balanced. Clearly stated in the Manual.
Please could you share the latency in Logic Pro X at 64 samples?
And is it usb audio compliant (for iOS?)
Many thanks

Transpose???????
Yes, it does have transpose
@PlayandTradeGuitars thank you so much I almost bought a hx one and tonex lol
Just talking
That’s an oily face
That's what I'm saying😅
Dad rock and blues lick? Opinion immediately discarded.
