    I know I'm late to the party and you may never see this, but beautiful work!
    I'm contemplating a board build out of Black Walnut, and am scarfing up anything I can find on pedalboard building.
    Thanks for the video, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

    This is my favourite pedalboard design. Absolutely amazing. I was so inspired by it, I have created my own from kwila and pine. Outstanding work mate.

    Very nice. The use of the sled for the angled cuts and the slots for the cross boards has been what I’ve tried to figure out how to do. Nice work with the dowels for the joints too 👌🏻

    • @Felipera_
      @Felipera_ 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can probably do this with less than 50 bucks in tools. Even less if you already own the basic ones like a hand saw and a drill. As I see all I really need is a hand saw, a chisel, a hammer and some sandpaper.

    • @djay6651
      @djay6651 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup, it will just take longer. I built a book shelf out of pine with a jigsaw, a couple of chisels, a simple right angle square and a 4 oz claw hammer.

  • @keeelane
    @keeelane 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    A beatiful work of art for sure. However, a minor criticism: that looks a bit heavy and excessively sturdy. That's not something you perhaps like to carry around small gigs all the time, at least for me. I'd probably build one from plywood, aluminum and quality veneer. Just my 2 cents. Anyway, great work, keep it up.

    • @graysonadams2485

      @@felix.delrubio Of course it does. Mount the power supply under the board, cables go through the gaps between the slats.

  • @strawboybeats3970
    @strawboybeats3970 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    How heavy would you say this wound up compared to a pedaltrain of roughly the same size? I'm really wanting to build my own but want to make sure it's worth it before I get started. Also great work man that's a beautiful board.

    • @strawboybeats3970
      @strawboybeats3970 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also do you remember the dimensions of this board? Or how you decided on an angle?

    • @TheOffcut
      @TheOffcut  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks man. I don’t know how heavy the pedal trains are but this one didn’t seem too heavy to be annoying to carry around. Dimensions were 640 x 320mm. I can’t remember how high it was or the angle, I just played around with it until I thought it looked good

  • @johnking3863

      @TheOffcut  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      David Larbey it's not bad, it's not great either. The fence has alignment issues and I always to have to re adjust it to make it parallel with the blade. But most table saws in this price range will have the same issue and will perform similarly I think.

    Fwiw, with exotic and high oil timbers (walnut for american species), you really should be wearing breathing protection. Exotic woods can actually have non-visible spalting, and breathing that in can make you really sick. As well, many of those timbers are high irritants and can make you ill from that.

      This "thing" is called pedalboard for guitar players. There are things called "guitar pedals" that guitar players put on top of that thing. They step on those pedal when they want to change the sound of their guitar. The benefit is to have different sounds when you play electric guitar or bass. To understand more, you may search "pedalboard" on youtube.
