  • With air travel halted, the culture of globetrotting in an RV is seeing a rapid growth in popularity. Surely, a small campervan can do the job if you are used to austerity, but the ultimate rig for this task is undoubtedly an expedition vehicle. Often confused with military trucks, these machines are the baddest boys of camping. Today we will be looking into the newest models out there, that are eagerly awaiting their captain who will take control of the helm to navigate the roads untraveled.

    #4 Nimbl EVOLUTION nimblvehicles.com/vehicle/nimbl-evolution/
All-new for 2021, this camper was designed by a group of lifelong explorers, who wanted to find the balance between off-road capability and off-the-grid independence. It was built in 2016, has 25000 miles on the clock, and it is currently on sale through the Expedition Portal.
    #8 EarthRoamer LTi: earthroamer.com/lti-2/

I want to drive all of them on a trip before I could decide which truck I want.
I use to drive 18 wheelers so I think it would be easy to drive these trucks.

As a Full Time RVer I can tell you that Dinette booths get very uncomfortable after awhile , you need a comfortable place to sit and relax , especially if it's bad weather outside for a few days. Our RV has two La-Z-Boy swivel rocker recliners and my wife and I are very comfortable in them. I don't see a comfortable place to sit and relax in any of these Expedition vehicles.

With due respect your RV is not designed to go off road or on unkempt roads in places like Africa so has a pull out which increases your inside space and allows you to have the recliners. Pull outs are hardly ever found on expedition vehicles because it would compromise the strength on the body so space is more of a premium. Most of those had long enough seats to be able to turn sideways and put your feet up to relax.

I belive the ultimate motorhome should be designed to "expand outside", most amenities of a motorhome aren´t meant to use on the road anyway, but on a spacious parking, so the best design should be one that use almost no space inside(all become storage) and when you stop, you "unfold" and mount a attached tent outside with most stuff(even kitchen, who cook with the vehicle in movement after all?) That meant, a toilet inside, and maybe a bed, even showers could be outside(inside a tent, or a plastic build similar to a chemical bathroom), that would optimize space usage, and give more cargo and such.

it would do more justice to the Crawler OTAG 600 if it could be based on the MAN TGS 18.360 BL 4X4 + 5.0 in. Lift 9.0 TDI I6 4-Dr Double Cab Off Road Camper Truck (LHD) I can say this from experience!!! catch is the price, it can cost you anywhere between €330,000 - €560,000 depending on options!!! believe it or not some of these all terrain vehicles could easily cost you more than your house!!! as for the ISUZU FTS 800 4X4 + 5.0 in. Lift 6.5 TDI I5 4-Dr Crew All Terrain Camper Truck (RHD), what could be any better except for the legendary MITSUBISHI Fuso CANTER 8C16 4X4 + 5.0 in. Lift 3.0 TDI I4 4-Dr Crew Cab All Terrain Camper Truck (RHD) that started it all!!! the only thing that I don't like in such all in one recreational vehicles are the ultra compact lavatory (although a vital necessity far away from any conventional lavatory / washroom) that's no bigger than your waist!!! and the grey water tank that can helluva mess if not handled carefully!!!

the Ford F-550 Super Duty 4WD + 3.5 in. Lift 6.3 TDI V8 4-Dr Crew Cab All Terrain Light Camper Truck (LHD) based Earth Roamer LTi is a damn good one!!! however it has so many features that you really don't need for e.g. solid wooden cabin interior & granite flooring!!! who needs granite floor in his RV??? besides this feature alone raises the price by €45,000 & spending €45,000 on something that you don't need that hurts!!! more so your conscience as much as your wallet!!! granite flooring is what you would put in your house not your weekender vehicle!!! if I've to have granite flooring & solid wood fixtures I can might as well have that in my farm house over the lake not my Earth Roamer that'll drive us there!!! this is just my opinion, what I think but ofcourse you can choose to disagree with me!!! like all human beings you too have your likes & dislikes & i respect that!!!

That is how most campers should look like, not the cardboards on wheels most people buy.
However, more comfort they have, less probability to reach any extreme places: too heavy, huge turning radius, it takes lots of energy to run all the bells and whistles, no crew protection in case of falling trees, without a wood stove no fuel no heat and so on.
    Great vehicles and setups otherwise.
