Thank You I pulled every plug out and plugged them back in and my Black screen went away and I had sound. Thanks for giving me the courage to fix it myself. I don’t know if it will last but for now I am a happy Lady!
So glad I found you, hope I get a response. So my tv turns but the screen is black. I get small flashes of picture but then turns black and stays. I have unplugged for 10mintues and tried again and same issue. Please help
First check to see for sure that you don;t see images on the screen use a flash light. If it shows an image and has sound then it is the controller board. Make sure that your power cable is connected and if you see the standby light. If it is total darkness and no standby light or sound at all then it is the main board. Hope this helps I know it is very frustrating. If you are not technical inclined then I suggest let an expert fix it. Good Luck everyone! Heidy
Thanks i think my tvs problem is the control board. No sound no picture but when i hold a flashlight to it is see the tvs logo. There is a standby light. So from what you wrote it sound like the control board then.

The tv has power and comes on with sound. There's this little underlight that comes on where you can clearly tell the tv is on but the screen never shows a picture. It stays black. There's a small sliver of light in the bottom right corner that would indicate that the screen may be damaged. Any info on what to do would be extremely helpful

I have a Sharp Aquos model no: lc-50ub30u. The issue I am having is that the screen is on but very dark. I tested and found that it is not dark if I unplug and turn on while on TV input, but when it is changed to HDMI or some parts of the menu, it goes dark and stays that way even in tv mode. I have to unplug it on that input to get any backlight back on. The backlights work great when I do that, but certain actions bring about the dark screen again. The screen is not blank, I can see the picture if all lights are off in the room. Need to know what to fix. I have a 4:29 video of my troubleshooting if you want that.
Hello I just found this video and it helped explain so much I was wondering if you may be able to help me with an issue I am having with my living room Tv. It is an LG 42CS570 when powered on in the morning after being off throughout the night it will display the LG start up screen it will then slowly start to fade while 1 inch of full picture (left to right horizontally) will appear at the top of the screen the lower will still be fading from the LG logo from start up after approx. 1 hour of being left on it will display full picture as if nothing is wrong. No further issues until the Tv is powered back off and allowed to cool down a bit or if the air around the TV becomes too cold while in use it will start glitching picture usually lower than 70 degrees or so. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I fixed my moms tv that had the no video signal problem. I did 2 things: 1. A factory reset. 2. Unplugged and plugged the 3 black, red and yellow cords on the back of the tv. Before unplugging the cords though, I had the no image with sound problem so that is how to fix the no image with sound problem. I'm currently watching tv right now on the tv that had the no video signal problem before. I fixed that just tonight. If you have the exact same problem I had, try the two things mentioned in this comment.
Hi Jimmy, I have an issue with my Samsung tv which is connected to a BT TV cable box. Intermittently the screen will go black with no sound and come back on around 20 seconds later. More recently on occasion it goes black and I need to go to the guide, change channel and then go back to the original channel to get it back. I disconnected the TV from the cable box onto terrestrial TV and all was fine for a couple of days. Reconnected it and immediately had the issue again. I am guessing (perhaps wrongly) this this is more likely an issue with the cable box?
If you shine a light on the screen and you see something it's the backlight inverter if you don't see anything while the tv is on then it's your main board

What's up Jim? Today I found a Sony FWD40LX2F. I checked if It turned on and it did. I connected it with my computer later on. It worked for a good 45 minutes. Then after the 45 minutes the screen wouldn't turn on. The power button and Sony button worked (turned on) but the screen didn't respond and that was the end of that. I still have the TV around because I believe it's fixable. My problem is that the screen won't turn on. The Sony logo on the front of the TV when off is normal and when you turn it on the Sony lights up that works. As well as the light that indicates the TV is off on That light works. The colors for my TV are Red (Off) and idk the exact name of the TV on is a mix of yellow and a little tiny bit of green.
Hey you have some great advice here, now I'm just hoping to pick your brains. I have an RCA 65" 4K TV (Model RCA PRK65A65RQ). The screen won't come on. I can see the back light turning on, can't see any menus or image, have tried hooking up different sources (even tested the sources with another TV installed in the same location to make sure they were working), have tried running the flashlight over it and am not getting anything. You can replace the main board and the t-con board individually to see if one of those boards fixes the problem. Hi, I have a model 47LA6200 LG 3D tv and it powers up and has audio but just a quick flash of video and then black screen. I checked the power board #EAX64905501(2.3) and no voltage out to leds (even with connector removed). I found a guaranteed used board on eBay and have it on order. I see you likely have repair parts too. Question is, from what I do deduct the led voltage supply is bad, but what are the chances one or more led's are bad too? Something I saw on your page said this power board is many times associated with bad led/s. TV is several years old - do you recommend I replace the leds while I have the TV partially apart and do you stock them (sets?).

Hi there, I have an issue with a lg tv, model no lg42ld690. I used to get these horizontal lines across the screen but when it warmed up, the picture would go back to normal. I unplugged and replugged the two ribbon cables that go from the main board and into the to frame, and now it is just showing a blank screen. Audio is fine. Backlights work. Power is ok. What do you think it might be? I can't see any blown capacitors. The flashlight test fails also.

T.V. Model #: 55SF4610RTBAA Problem: T.V. has black screen and no sound. Standby light is on but using the remote or using the power button on the back of the T.V. does not do anything. Went through the flashlight test and there is nothing on screen and tried to turn volume up but there is no sound. I opened the T.V. and used a multi meter to try and find the problem but everything seems to have power going to it. Any advice or recommendation on parts to fix it would be very helpful, and checking your website and seeing you guys have some super good prices on every component i would need makes me a costumer already. Jimmy...samsung 43nu7100f, black screen...it appears to power on and I can hear the logo screen...I can also hear the noise when I switch inputs...but there is absolutely no backlghting happening at all. I have a TCL 75S425. that powers up but there is no picture or audio. You can hear the TV clicking when you use the up and down volume buttons, but there is no volume graphic on the screen. The 5 home button trick didn't work. The screen isn't black, but a really deep shade of dark blue (almost black), as if there is still a faint light source still happening. Enjoyed the tutorials. I have a vizio E-600i-b3..I get a boot screen with the "V" logo then it goes dark. Tried the re-boot, the mute button for 3-4 seconds and no pic or sound. Dear Jimmy, I have a 50PA4500-UM from LG. It has sound but black screen. The remote works fine. So I can turn it on/standby and change the volume. I noticed when TV is on the power LED light at left-below of screen has no color light. And when it is standby the light shows red. According your flashlight test video, I used LED flashlight to check the screen when I press setting button. Nothing shows just black screen. BTW: when I press any button, the power light flash as red. So I removed the back cover of TV and check back light. It's all black and no more other light except two red lights on the EAX64696607 board. Could you please tell me what's the next step should I move? Thanks a lot and have a great weekend.

I have a 60LS5700-UA (model) LG TV. We came home from a trip and turned the set on and worked fine. A few minutes later, the picture was gone, but still had sound. hi, my question may been asked frequently... but in my case i have an led tv sharp model lc40le256m-wh... the screen suddenly went black... all diagnoses thathad been taken are as follows: 1) cable was checked at ports and were connected properly... all of them.. the vga.. the hdmis... the usbs... all of them are firmly connected.. and tested.. one by one 2) the menu option did not appears 3) the sound is still there 4) there was no picture but when i switch off. my house lights there were evidence of backlight operating.. 5) last connected via vga ports was the wii console... thats what had happen.. please advice... thanks
Hello, I bought this TV in 2018 have been happy with it till yesterday when turned on but only have black screen and no sound. Blue led comes on ,no logo. Have tried unplugging for minute and also all night. held power button on TV also remote for minute and longer. Removed remote batteries and replaced with new ones. Replaced cable box, HDMI cable with new ones along with different HDMI Plugs on TV. I have a 55in Toshiba TV model 55L62U which is 1.5yrs old. Yesterday, it was working fine and suddenly turned off. I unplug it, a few times, and back in only for it to load, the Toshiba and Chromecast logo then nothing. It also flashes red in the lower right corner 5 or 6 times. I have a LG 43UK6470PLC TV set - the picture disappeared while watching a recorded programme, but the sound was Ok. After trying to re-start the TV, re-boot it, re-set to factory settings, non of which worked, the sound also disappeared. The backlight switches on both with the button on the set and with the remote. I tried baking the main board - no effect. Tired replacing the main board with another - no effect. The T-con connections are on the main board. Any suggestions on how to fix it? I am in the UK.
Hi. i have a Panasonic Viera that i sort of inherited. My previous roommate left it behind because he said it didnt work. It was in my garage and side yard for about a year when i decided to see if i could fix it. i plugged in a pair of rabbit ears and plugged the power cord in and to my surprise it turned right on and worked perfectly. So i brought it into my house and it worked fine for a few days. then I unplugged it to move it to a different spot and that is when the trouble began. i had no remote so id been using the buttons on the back of the tv to turn it on as well as change the input and channels and volume of course. This time i plugged it in and the power light came on but no picture or sound. then. the next time no power light. I did a little research and i dont remember exactly, but i have a vague memory of finding that i could reset everything by pressing and holding 2 of the buttons together for some amazingly long amount of time... like 15 or 30 seconds maybe? i have tried to find that link again but can't. Anyway, once i did that the power light came on again and when there was no picture or sound i tried tapping the input button and menu buttons until suddenly the the menu popped up and the input menu and i was able to watch tv again. yay! BUT... everytime the tv gets shut off, in order for the power light to come back on, i have to disconnect the power cord from the back of the tv and then plug it in again. After i do that, i can push the power button and the light in front comes on and then by tapping (more like slapping) the input button a few times, (sometimes 6 or 7 times) the tv mysteriously comes back on with the input menu. Last time the tv was turned off by the universal remote control it wouldn't come on again. i unplugged and plugged the power cord... changed out the power cord... nothing. frustrated!! please tell me that what I'm describing makes some kind of sense to you and if there IS a way to reset it (my memory sucks.. it could've been a different tv.) remind me how to do it. A perfect picture on my TCL 65" was completely black the next time I turned it on. Sound is OK and I can see the image with a flashlight. How can I determine if ALL the LEDs suddenly went out together or if its the power going to the LEDs. Can I measure that with a DC volt meter?

Hi Jimmy I have a Toshiba 40RV525U the screen is black no sound. Always black... The power lights come on. Before this happened for about a year of we turned it off it would crackle when we turned it on. Hello, I have a question about my tv. I have an LG flat screen tv. The model number is 47LD500-UA. I've had it for a few years and it was working fine until we had a bad thunderstorm last summer and lightening struck through the house and blew out the tv. Now, I do still have an indicator red light on it when it's plugged in, but the tv doesn't turn on at all. Normally when turning it on the red light blinks to indicate it's turning on. But now it doesn't do anything. When I first plug it in the light appears really bright then after a few seconds it gets dull. I did try your method of turning it on and pushing menu to see if that appears but it didn't work. Do you recommend anything else I could still do?
+India Baxley if you can, open up the back and look for fuses. they can be changed by hand and that is probably what is wrong with your tv. if its not a fuse it's likely blown capacitors. Good luck

Hello! I have a TCL Roku TV (43S433) that is experiencing the following. It does power on and it does have sound. When initially powered on, the screen will be black, and then the screen will come on for about a half a second. It will then go black for about another 5-10 seconds, flash on for another half a second, and then go black again. I can see the Roku menu when doing the flashlight test, but it never comes on and stays on after the two initial flashes. Looking for some help to determine if this would be the LED lights, main board, power control board, or something else? Thanks in advance!

We have Toshiba 42SL417U TV. The screen went black and the sound is gone. I have tried several methods shown to reset it but none have resolved the issue. There is a flashing green light at the bottom of the frame which has always linked as the TV “warmed up”. It now does this continually with no results. Holding the power button does not affect much. It ‘clicks” and returns to the flashing light with no response. Is the TV beyond simple repair?

Panasonic 52LCX66 - Just replaced the lamp. Havent had any problems until I moved the tv from one wall to another. Tv works, comes on with green light and then it will turn black for a few seconds and come back on. It did this for a couple hours and then it went dim. Settings, brightness is at max. This is when xbox is on, when cable box is on the screen is completely black, but sound is on. Not sure how to fix this problem.

hello! I'm trying to figure out the exact problem I'm having with my RCA LED TV. Screen is black and stays black. the LED light is blue which means it's on. there is a backlight, a light up black back but no picture. I have tried the flashlight test as well as testing multiple sources and that the cables are secure. I cannot pull up the menu, or see the volume bar when adjusting volume. is it the lamp that's gone? that's my guess from some Google searches.
RCA led46c45rq. Turn the set on and the back light flashes and goes black but still has audio. Did the flashlight test and there is an image. Changed the power supply board and still does the same thing. I don't have a multimeter at this time but was wondering if there was something else I could check .
This is an oldie, purchased in 7/99, may not be worth the effort?? It just now quit, wth power, no picture or sound, just a buzz noise when plugged and power button on. Did the flashlight test, nothing. Is it worth diagnosing? It has served me well but I could let go.
My Vizio E321VL has the classic black screen. Ran the flashlight test. When powered on I get the V start up screen then goes to black . Bought & installed a main board p/n 3632-1792-0150 4f ,no help same problem. I read where that was probable cause, dont know what to try next . Greg

Hi we have a Samsung TV. Model Code LN46C630K1FXZC, Serial no. Z1UC3CHZC00073H. The screen has gone black but we still have sound. I have done the flash light test and there are still images showing in the back ground. I have also tried to see if the menu options show up when the tv is on, but they do not. sanyo dp46142 led TV turning on power screen gets a bright white flash then goes black... It does have sound and with flashlight you can see the picture also replaced the led driver on it already did not fix can you help me figure out what board it may be I really don't want to replace all the only boards left that have not been replaced yet are power board,Tcon board, and main board and IR board all caps look good...

Thank You I pulled every plug out and plugged them back in and my Black screen went away and I had sound. Thanks for giving me the courage to fix it myself. I don’t know if it will last but for now I am a happy Lady!

I since just got rid of the TV since no one could fix it.
First check to see for sure that you don;t see images on the screen use a flash light. If it shows an image and has sound then it is the controller board. Make sure that your power cable is connected and if you see the standby light. If it is total darkness and no standby light or sound at all then it is the main board. Hope this helps I know it is very frustrating. If you are not technical inclined then I suggest let an expert fix it.

The tv has power and comes on with sound. There's this little underlight that comes on where you can clearly tell the tv is on but the screen never shows a picture. It stays black. There's a small sliver of light in the bottom right corner that would indicate that the screen may be damaged. Any info on what to do would be extremely helpful

I have a Sharp Aquos model no: lc-50ub30u.
The issue I am having is that the screen is on but very dark. I tested and found that it is not dark if I unplug and turn on while on TV input, but when it is changed to HDMI or some parts of the menu, it goes dark and stays that way even in tv mode. I have to unplug it on that input to get any backlight back on. The backlights work great when I do that, but certain actions bring about the dark screen again. The screen is not blank, I can see the picture if all lights are off in the room. Need to know what to fix. I have a 4:29 video of my troubleshooting if you want that.

Hello I just found this video and it helped explain so much I was wondering if you may be able to help me with an issue I am having with my living room Tv. It is an LG 42CS570 when powered on in the morning after being off throughout the night it will display the LG start up screen it will then slowly start to fade while 1 inch of full picture (left to right horizontally) will appear at the top of the screen the lower will still be fading from the LG logo from start up after approx. 1 hour of being left on it will display full picture as if nothing is wrong. No further issues until the Tv is powered back off and allowed to cool down a bit or if the air around the TV becomes too cold while in use it will start glitching picture usually lower than 70 degrees or so. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I fixed my moms tv that had the no video signal problem. I did 2 things: 1. A factory reset. 2. Unplugged and plugged the 3 black, red and yellow cords on the back of the tv. Before unplugging the cords though, I had the no image with sound problem so that is how to fix the no image with sound problem. I'm currently watching tv right now on the tv that had the no video signal problem before. I fixed that just tonight. If you have the exact same problem I had, try the two things mentioned in this comment.

I have an issue with my Samsung tv which is connected to a BT TV cable box. Intermittently the screen will go black with no sound and come back on around 20 seconds later. More recently on occasion it goes black and I need to go to the guide, change channel and then go back to the original channel to get it back. I disconnected the TV from the cable box onto terrestrial TV and all was fine for a couple of days. Reconnected it and immediately had the issue again. I am guessing (perhaps wrongly) this this is more likely an issue with the cable box?

If you shine a light on the screen and you see something it's the backlight inverter if you don't see anything while the tv is on then it's your main board

What's up Jim? Today I found a Sony FWD40LX2F. I checked if It turned on and it did. I connected it with my computer later on. It worked for a good 45 minutes. Then after the 45 minutes the screen wouldn't turn on. The power button and Sony button worked (turned on) but the screen didn't respond and that was the end of that. I still have the TV around because I believe it's fixable. My problem is that the screen won't turn on. The Sony logo on the front of the TV when off is normal and when you turn it on the Sony lights up that works. As well as the light that indicates the TV is off on That light works. The colors for my TV are Red (Off) and idk the exact name of the TV on is a mix of yellow and a little tiny bit of green.

Hey you have some great advice here, now I'm just hoping to pick your brains. I have an RCA 65" 4K TV (Model RCA PRK65A65RQ). The screen won't come on. I can see the back light turning on, can't see any menus or image, have tried hooking up different sources (even tested the sources with another TV installed in the same location to make sure they were working), have tried running the flashlight over it and am not getting anything. +Wil Velasco Try all repairs and troubleshooting at your own risk. This could be a problem with either the t-con board, the main board or the TV panel. You can replace the main board and the t-con board individually to see if one of those boards fixes the problem.

Hi, I have a model 47LA6200 LG 3D tv and it powers up and has audio but just a quick flash of video and then black screen. I checked the power board #EAX64905501(2.3) and no voltage out to leds (even with connector removed). I found a guaranteed used board on eBay and have it on order. I see you likely have repair parts too. Question is, from what I do deduct the led voltage supply is bad, but what are the chances one or more led's are bad too? Something I saw on your page said this power board is many times associated with bad led/s. TV is several years old - do you recommend I replace the leds while I have the TV partially apart and do you stock them (sets?).

Hi there, I have an issue with a lg tv, model no lg42ld690. I used to get these horizontal lines across the screen but when it warmed up, the picture would go back to normal. I unplugged and replugged the two ribbon cables that go from the main board and into the to frame, and now it is just showing a blank screen. Audio is fine. Backlights work. Power is ok. What do you think it might be? I can't see any blown capacitors. The flashlight test fails also.

T.V. Model #: 55SF4610RTBAA Problem: T.V. has black screen and no sound. Standby light is on but using the remote or using the power button on the back of the T.V. does not do anything. Went through the flashlight test and there is nothing on screen and tried to turn volume up but there is no sound. I opened the T.V. and used a multi meter to try and find the problem but everything seems to have power going to it. Any advice or recommendation on parts to fix it would be very helpful, and checking your website and seeing you guys have some super good prices on every component i would need makes me a costumer already. Just need an idea on what component i need to buy.

Jimmy...samsung 43nu7100f, black screen...it appears to power on and I can hear the logo screen...I can also hear the noise when I switch inputs...but there is absolutely no backlghting happening at all. I have a TCL 75S425. that powers up but there is no picture or audio. You can hear the TV clicking when you use the up and down volume buttons, but there is no volume graphic on the screen. The 5 home button trick didn't work. The screen isn't black, but a really deep shade of dark blue (almost black), as if there is still a faint light source still happening. I have a 50PA4500-UM from LG. It has sound but black screen. The remote works fine. So I can turn it on/standby and change the volume. I noticed when TV is on the power LED light at left-below of screen has no color light. And when it is standby the light shows red. According your flashlight test video, I used LED flashlight to check the screen when I press setting button. Nothing shows just black screen. BTW: when I press any button, the power light flash as red.
So I removed the back cover of TV and check back light. It's all black and no more other light except two red lights on the EAX64696607 board.
Could you please tell me what's the next step should I move?

I have a 60LS5700-UA (model) LG TV. We came home from a trip and turned the set on and worked fine. A few minutes later, the picture was gone, but still had sound. hi, my question may been asked frequently... but in my case i have an led tv sharp model lc40le256m-wh... the screen suddenly went black... all diagnoses thathad been taken are as follows:
1) cable was checked at ports and were connected properly... all of them.. the vga.. the hdmis... the usbs... all of them are firmly connected.. and tested.. one by one
2) the menu option did not appears
3) the sound is still there
4) there was no picture but when i switch off. my house lights there were evidence of backlight operating..
5) last connected via vga ports was the wii console...

I bought this TV in 2018 have been happy with it till yesterday when turned on but only have black screen and no sound. Blue led comes on ,no logo. Have tried unplugging for minute and also all night. held power button on TV also remote for minute and longer. Removed remote batteries and replaced with new ones. Replaced cable box, HDMI cable with new ones along with different HDMI Plugs on TV.

I have a 55in Toshiba TV model 55L62U which is 1.5yrs old. Yesterday, it was working fine and suddenly turned off. I unplug it, a few times, and back in only for it to load, the Toshiba and Chromecast logo then nothing. It also flashes red in the lower right corner 5 or 6 times. From what I have researched so far it could be in standby mode but it's either unplug it trick or being it in. Advice would be greatly appreciated as a 1.5yr old paper weight has me missed off.haha

I have a LG 43UK6470PLC TV set - the picture disappeared while watching a recorded programme, but the sound was Ok. After trying to re-start the TV, re-boot it, re-set to factory settings, non of which worked, the sound also disappeared. The backlight switches on both with the button on the set and with the remote. I tried baking the main board - no effect. Tired replacing the main board with another - no effect. The T-con connections are on the main board. Any suggestions on how to fix it? I am in the UK.
Hi. i have a Panasonic Viera that i sort of inherited. My previous roommate left it behind because he said it didnt work. It was in my garage and side yard for about a year when i decided to see if i could fix it. i plugged in a pair of rabbit ears and plugged the power cord in and to my surprise it turned right on and worked perfectly.
So i brought it into my house and it worked fine for a few days. then I unplugged it to move it to a different spot and that is when the trouble began.
i had no remote so id been using the buttons on the back of the tv to turn it on as well as change the input and channels and volume of course. This time i plugged it in and the power light came on but no picture or sound. then. the next time no power light.
I did a little research and i dont remember exactly, but i have a vague memory of finding that i could reset everything by pressing and holding 2 of the buttons together for some amazingly long amount of time... like 15 or 30 seconds maybe? i have tried to find that link again but can't.
Anyway, once i did that the power light came on again and when there was no picture or sound i tried tapping the input button and menu buttons until suddenly the the menu popped up and the input menu and i was able to watch tv again. yay!
BUT... everytime the tv gets shut off, in order for the power light to come back on, i have to disconnect the power cord from the back of the tv and then plug it in again. After i do that, i can push the power button and the light in front comes on and then by tapping (more like slapping) the input button a few times, (sometimes 6 or 7 times) the tv mysteriously comes back on with the input menu.
Last time the tv was turned off by the universal remote control it wouldn't come on again. i unplugged and plugged the power cord... changed out the power cord... nothing. frustrated!!
please tell me that what I'm describing makes some kind of sense to you and if there IS a way to reset it (my memory sucks.. it could've been a different tv.) remind me how to do it.

It was working fine but sometimes would do some strange flicker to black and even restarting would not bring it back , an hour later it worked fine.
A week later it flickered and went black, now it won't come back on, the power light does light up,but no sound and no picture... What board is most likely the problem? Power board?

A perfect picture on my TCL 65" was completely black the next time I turned it on. Sound is OK and I can see the image with a flashlight. How can I determine if ALL the LEDs suddenly went out together or if its the power going to the LEDs. Can I measure that with a DC volt meter?

I have a Toshiba TV/DVD combo Model 19LV610U, Series 722549A760 SH, Serial 925H 2277 AU12 00, 120V~60Hz 38W.
The issue I have with this TV that there is no image projected, but there is sound & I did the flashlight test on the screen & I was able to see some images.
I suspect it might be the image inverter unit for this unit & I want to know which is the appropriate part I need to use to fix this tv?

Have a HCT model hld-42hcb. Unit will show red when on stand by and green when powered on. But no picture. Sound is heard when the main power is plugged in and powered up. But no sign of picture what so ever. Can you help?

Hi Jimmy I have a Toshiba 40RV525U the screen is black no sound. Always black... The power lights come on. Before this happened for about a year of we turned it off it would crackle when we turned it on. Hello, I have a question about my tv. I have an LG flat screen tv. The model number is 47LD500-UA. I've had it for a few years and it was working fine until we had a bad thunderstorm last summer and lightening struck through the house and blew out the tv. Now, I do still have an indicator red light on it when it's plugged in, but the tv doesn't turn on at all. Normally when turning it on the red light blinks to indicate it's turning on. But now it doesn't do anything. When I first plug it in the light appears really bright then after a few seconds it gets dull. I did try your method of turning it on and pushing menu to see if that appears but it didn't work. Do you recommend anything else I could still do?
+India Baxley if you can, open up the back and look for fuses. they can be changed by hand and that is probably what is wrong with your tv. if its not a fuse it's likely blown capacitors. Good luck

Hello! I have a TCL Roku TV (43S433) that is experiencing the following. It does power on and it does have sound. When initially powered on, the screen will be black, and then the screen will come on for about a half a second. It will then go black for about another 5-10 seconds, flash on for another half a second, and then go black again. I can see the Roku menu when doing the flashlight test, but it never comes on and stays on after the two initial flashes. Looking for some help to determine if this would be the LED lights, main board, power control board, or something else? Thanks in advance!

We have Toshiba 42SL417U TV. The screen went black and the sound is gone. I have tried several methods shown to reset it but none have resolved the issue. There is a flashing green light at the bottom of the frame which has always linked as the TV “warmed up”. It now does this continually with no results. Holding the power button does not affect much. It ‘clicks” and returns to the flashing light with no response. Is the TV beyond simple repair?

Panasonic 52LCX66 - Just replaced the lamp. Havent had any problems until I moved the tv from one wall to another. Tv works, comes on with green light and then it will turn black for a few seconds and come back on. It did this for a couple hours and then it went dim. Settings, brightness is at max. This is when xbox is on, when cable box is on the screen is completely black, but sound is on. Not sure how to fix this problem.

hello! I'm trying to figure out the exact problem I'm having with my RCA LED TV.
Screen is black and stays black. the LED light is blue which means it's on. there is a backlight, a light up black back but no picture. I have tried the flashlight test as well as testing multiple sources and that the cables are secure. I cannot pull up the menu, or see the volume bar when adjusting volume.
is it the lamp that's gone? that's my guess from some Google searches.

RCA led46c45rq. Turn the set on and the back light flashes and goes black but still has audio. Did the flashlight test and there is an image. Changed the power supply board and still does the same thing. I don't have a multimeter at this time but was wondering if there was something else I could check .
This is an oldie, purchased in 7/99, may not be worth the effort?? It just now quit, wth power, no picture or sound, just a buzz noise when plugged and power button on. Did the flashlight test, nothing. Is it worth diagnosing? It has served me well but I could let go.
My Vizio E321VL has the classic black screen. Ran the flashlight test. When powered on I get the V start up screen then goes to black . Bought & installed a main board p/n 3632-1792-0150 4f ,no help same problem. I read where that was probable cause, dont know what to try next . Greg

Hi we have a Samsung TV. Model Code LN46C630K1FXZC, Serial no. Z1UC3CHZC00073H. The screen has gone black but we still have sound. I have done the flash light test and there are still images showing in the back ground. I have also tried to see if the menu options show up when the tv is on, but they do not. It does have sound and with flashlight you can see the picture also replaced the led driver on it already did not fix can you help me figure out what board it may be I really don't want to replace all the only boards left that have not been replaced yet are power board,Tcon board, and main board and IR board all caps look good...
