Two Anchors On A Boat - Sherz & Linz June 2021

- 5th/6th June 2021 - When we're not on the Broads, we keep ourselves amused with our little boat on the Macclesfield Canal up here in the Midlands. The sun was shining on Saturday, so we grabbed Joe, and went off for a cruise to visit Congleton and the Biddulph Valley Way.

looks like you had great time , it looked quieter on the canals than it does on the broads at the moment , acording to lisas vids lol , same me new name , think ive got right way around lol .
It probably depends where on the canal network you are. Our bit of the Macclesfield canal is fairly out of the way compared to if we were based on the 4 Counties ring for example. But yes, I'm glad we had our week on the Broads when we did, it's looking a bit more manic over there now!

Hi John! I bought it as a 40th birthday treat for myself in the summer of 2018. Think I paid around 2.5k for it, and have probably spent around another 1k or so fixing it up, the interior was pretty bare bones when we got it.
Thank you for this vlog. I really enjoyed it. Last time I was on the Macclesfield Canal was way back in 1980 (I was, ahem, 8 years old at the time). And looks like your 'Dandy' went very well.
Thanks Andrew! I can't imagine it will have changed that much since you were last there. Yes the boat seems to be running nicely now. That old engine has been known to be a bit troublesome in the past, but I've made some adjustments here and there, and touch wood, seems to be ticking along like clockwork now.
Great to see you again ,watched the broads vid and thoroughly enjoyed it.Your technique of keeping things moving ,as well as entertaining ,I find very watchable ,in contrast to sticking a camera on the front of the boat and boring me for an hour or more ,plus ,Big Plus ,some of those meals ,especially breakfasts ,that Linz dishes up ,wow, and , of course , loved Joe. Thanks Tel! This video was fairly quick and dirty, but yes I tend to be pretty ruthless when it comes to editing the Broads vids. After we came back after a week we had hours and hours of footage, around 300GB worth, so if a shot doesn't add anything to the story it ends up on the cutting room floor - I try to keep it tight! Oh yes, Linz is an excellent chef, I'd be living on pot noodle for a week if it wasn't for her... And yup, Joe is awesome, we're under no illusions as to who the star of the show is! :)

Oh she's just a canal cruiser, too expensive to move her to Norfolk, plus she's not really big enough for any more than a few days adventure at a time! Lucky you though, that's always been the dream to buy a boat and go live on the Broads! Maybe one day if the lottery numbers come up haha...
@@djsherz We will send you some pics, we brought her 6 months ago and not on her yet but hopefully be the end of this month, will you be going on to the broads for another holiday, if you do look us up and may be go for a drink..x
@@karenshepherd2860 We normally do a week every year, but not sure if next year's going to happen yet - recent events seem to have sent the hire prices silly daft, we might give next year a miss and wait for the prices to come down again - might do an extended trip in our little boat instead.
