This is exactly what I want with taper candles. Thank you for showing me how to do it myself. Can't wait to order! I'm going to have my dream of a wedding filled with flowers for an affordable price!
Thank you so much for sharing. How beautiful is that? Love your video too. Perfect speaking speed, informative with everything you used and also the addition of how many of each etc ❤ Subscribed and can't wait to see more. Lovely work. 😍
Hey! LOVE THIS TUTORIAL! So beautiful and so clearly explained You'd make this on site especially with extra water or how would you travel with it to the reception? Thanks!
You can easily make it in advance and tip the water out before transporting it. When you arrive at your venue, just refill the tray! Be sure to use a piece of waterproof floral tape to secure the foam to the tray.
Its me again. How would Hydrangeas look in this. I'm thinking 2 white hydrangeas, 1 bunch burgundy ranunculus, 1 bunch burgundy spray roses, and 2 bunch blush spray carnations with all the greenery you mentioned. Would you put the hydrangeas flat on top and the rest flowers all around them and in between? Please advise. Your videos and your suggestions have helped me so much. I cant thank you enough. ❤🤗
Howdy! Thank you for your question and kind comment! Ok, so hydrangeas don't love foam that is not submerged in water. However, that doesn't mean you CAN'T, you will just need to have special care. Here are my hydrangea tips in a foam tray: - Place them on the day of the event, and after you rewet the foam with your kitchen sink sprayer. If you are building the day before, then go ahead and build them WITH the hydrangea and when you're done pull them out and pop them in a vase of water, and replace them the following day. - Cut and dip them in Alum before pushing the stem into the foam. Alum is basically potassium sulfate that extends the life of food but works great with Hydrangea. It's found in the spice section of the grocery store - Spray the whole thing down with Crowning Glory or Hawaiian mist.
Is this kinda similar to how you make "flower aisle" arrangements? Could you PLEASE do a video on making those? I've been searching everywhere and there isn't much info available :( Btw, I've been vigorously watching all of your videos to prepare myself to DIY my wedding flowers next spring! Thank you so much for being my flower tutor!!
Great idea!!!! Those will just use a foam cage and you'll build it up taller, like the flowers are 'growing'. But I'll put that video on my list! Thank you for watching, sweet girl! XOXO, Amy
Lisianthus can have fragile stems, so I typically worry more about them snapping in transit that wilting. The foliage can wilt more easily than the buds themselves, which tend to hold up pretty well! To help keep flowers fresh check the water levels in your face, keep them away from bright sunny windows and in a cool room and spray blooms with Crowning Glory Floral Spray to keep them from fading too quickly!
Thanks so much! Here's the recipe we used to make this: 1/4 bunch Salal, 1/4 bunch Leather leaf, 1/2 bunch of Italian Ruscus, few Israeli Ruscus stems, 5 Quicksand Roses, 5 Red Heart roses, 5 Burgundy carnations, a few Thistle and 1/2 bunch of Brown lisianthus flower
Love the arrangement. Approx how much would you price it for. I am trying to do small arrangements from home and having a hard time coming up with my pricing. I'd appreciate if you can help. Thank you.
@@FlowerMoxie thank you so much for your response. I would love for you to do a video on your formulas of pricing different size/style arrangements. Thank you again for the response.
Hi, I'm planning a DIY yourself flower arrangements due to be me getting married in a public garden and having my reception so I felt silly having artificial table runners. Your tutorial has been the easiest to follow but I might have a silly question how do you pick the finished product and transport it
Hello Cathrine, so glad my videos help you! So when transporting it, I just position them tightly in the back of my hatchback. If it's a vase full of water I dump most out and refill when I get to the venue. What do you mean by 'how do I pick the finished product'? I wanna make sure I give you the right answer! XOXOX
@@cathrinechitewe4342 Ah, that's no biggy biggy! The bottom of the tray is ridged, but you ALWAYS want to tape in your mechanics or foam with green waterproof floral tape so the foam doesn't jump ship. Do this with every centerpiece and urn. The times I've skipped this step as only broken my heart, as the wind can grab the top-heavy arrangement and send it hurdling to the ground. LOL
Definitely make sure to tape your mechanics to the vase! This will ensure that the mechanics don't separate from the tray! You could use any small weight placed at points along the inside of the tray, your flowers will cover the mechanics so no one will notice! I would recommend river stones or even fishing weights.
We sell them, check out our site: diyflowersupply.com/ They should be on there today or tomorrow. They have been hard to find since Covid, but we got a shipment so keep an eye out.
I used a double brick tray by OASIS! I'd recommend maybe getting a triple brick tray and spacing them out. You don't have to use tape, but tape would make it more secure. Buy waterproof green floral tape, it's better than the clear! Here's a link I found to get a pack of them direclty: oasisfloralproducts.com/occasions/event-products/basic-plastics-event/oasis-single-brick-tray-black/?attribute_pa_size=double&attribute_unit=Pack
@@talyhaye1619 I think so, here are the dimensions: 26-1/2 inches x 4-1/2 inches x 3/4 inch You can build it larger not cutting the stems so short on the ends.
One reason is if the piece has been out of water for a while, the end dries up and seals and water won't get sucked up, so a new cut and then placed in the wet foam allows for the piece to drink better.

May I ask you please after so many greenery there are enough spots in oasis for glowers? Thank you
Can you use this tray for silk flowers also?
Absolutely!

It depends on how many luxe flower you have in there, but I would say it would start at around $100-125

Could you incorporate pillar candle or candle sticks in a round table floral arrangement?
Absolutely! Hobby Lobby and Michaels has taper candle attachments, or you can just drive them down into the foam.
@@FlowerMoxie so, do i start with the candles first, then greenery followed by florals?

Flower Moxie will the triple brick tray works better for a 6ft rectangular table?
@@talyhaye1619 I think so, here are the dimensions: 26-1/2 inches x 4-1/2 inches x 3/4 inch
You can build it larger not cutting the stems so short on the ends.
On average what does an arrangement this size normally cost?? I know the materials used changes things.
Oh man, I'm out of the pricing game since I retired from weddings, but I think most florists would price it at least $150+
Is there a reason you cut the stems of an already small piece of greenery? I noticed that quite a bit
One reason is if the piece has been out of water for a while, the end dries up and seals and water won't get sucked up, so a new cut and then placed in the wet foam allows for the piece to drink better.
You only use the water with real flowers, right? What's the purpose, new to this. I have no clue.
Correct - fresh cut flowers need a water source to say fresh and hydrated!
Sharks are ruining it for everyone...😂
