That one news prank about Americans not reading enough, once you know the context, is actually such a good prank and I love it. It acts as a classic April Fools prank while also providing some insight on how internet headlines are really the only thing that matter since no one reads the articles themselves.

This is why I like the Rick Roll. It's harmless, you get to listen to a good song, and everyone knows the punchline. Yeah, it's annoying, but it doesn't hurt anyone in any way.
Totally, when I get got especially by a good rick roll I wasn't expecting sure I go "Aaah fuckin' god dammit" but I also have a big dumb smile on my face at the same time.
When I was about 10 years old, I found a news article about how the skeletal remains of a dragon had been discovered in a cave in England and, as child obsessed with dragons, I was so damn excited about it. I told anyone I could until I told an adult who had also seen the article and they told me it was an April Fools joke and I was SO crushed. I had seen it in the middle of May.
This reminds me, during our most recent trip to Florida (in late April 2019), when waiting for our flight my mom came across an article about a Disney theme park being made in Canada. It turned out it was an April Fools prank.
To me, April Fools pranks are like smacking a friend in the face with a cream pie. Maybe they'll laugh, maybe they'll get mad and maybe they'll get a strong allergic reaction because of an ingredient in the pie.
I like the end message. Too many people fall for stuff on the internet. I grew up with adults sarcastically saying “it’s on the internet so it must be true” and now the same people genuinely fall for that kind of stuff.
you know what I like, I like the April Fools jokes that are like a tradition, in the same format from year to year, like Minecraft’s April Fools updates. I like those, because it adds some goofy thing and sometimes even adds interesting concepts, such as new blocks like a power brick or stained glass, or whole new ways to play, like you can only carry one block at a time or slightly reimagined Minecraft as a 90s fps
I hate Minecraft's April Fools jokes *because* they're so good. Minecraft's updates always have so little content given that it's literally the biggest video game in the world. They take so long, they're so lackluster, and then there's this random update that's just a joke that usually has twice the content of an actual update and it just makes every other update feel even more like a joke than the April Fools updates ever did. In isolation, the April Fools updates are fantastic and I wish I could love them, but in context of the other stuff we get, they just feel like a middle finger to the players.
I think April Fools videos can be funny if they’re actually creative like Schaffrillas’ are, his Arcane review probably being one of his best April Fools videos if not the best
The kinds of April Fools that I like are when game companies actually release something as a playable joke. For example with Sega, which were 8-bit Bayonetta, Big's Big Fishing Adventure 3: Trial, and recently, The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog.
My favorite April Fool's joke was when Eddache gaslit me into thinking Home Alone was originally supposed to end with Kevin successfully killing Harry and Marv and ended up selling his story to become rich and famous, while his awful family was shunned for being so irresponsible and negligent. Good one mate, I'll get ya next time.
i think the best april fools prank is when something gets turned on its head instead of being a cheap trick. best example of that was the club penguin april fools parties where the entire island became this bizzare wonderland during those parties
The kind of april fool prank I can't stand is when some website or social network page or whatever claims that they're either closing down or shifting to a completely different thing. It's the exact same every year, it's kinda boring and sometimes you actually prefer the new fake argumentation than the old one.
One of my favorite Discord servers "pranked" everyone last year by announcing that they would be transitioning to a Fortnite fan server because the owner had "just fallen in love with the game and wanted to share their passion with everyone" and I was genuinely depressed about it until someone mentioned it was a prank. Those kinds of April Fools are just cruel imo
similar thing happened in a server in im. the mods "deleted" a beloved channel, and archived a bunch of channels for no reason and made a church rp (for some reason???). also one of the mods said that if youre having a mental breakdown (a bunch of people didnt take any of these pranks very well) you should "go outside and cope" , and after that whole thing they added a REAL RULE that is named "touch grass" and an ai generated-ass apology, shit was wild @@NadirEatsRocks
Shoutout to TH-camrs whose April Fool's Day videos are just out of the norm for their channel and something they still super care about. Unlike "I am Quitting?" video number 453 clouding my sub feed
One TH-camr I follow (Harbo Holmes) this year did a jokey “Doctor Who SUCKS!” video for this year’s April Fools as a joke riffing on reactionary videos…had me laughing the whole way through as each reactionary comment about each incarnation and era got more and more ridiculous and extreme so much that, by the end, he’s arguing for the show to have never even started AT ALL as it blatantly rips off some obscure book no one’s ever heard of…🤣🤣🤣🤣
My favorite one is GD Colon. He makes videos about Geometry Dash and posts on April Fools yearly. But, his April fools videos always have way more effort put into them than the average "apology or quitting video" and have a punchline that is pretty unique and entertaining. One of the best TH-camrs when it comes to April fools pranks imo.
The best April fools pranks are always the ones where you get something nice in the end. Homestar Runner having their classic April fools cartoons, adult swim doing toonami, it's playing with your expectations in a way that is delightful and surprising. It's the best when you think you're going to get something disappointing then you're giving something cool or fun instead. Making you look like an idiot is rude, completely uncalled for, but using the day to create something strange and beautiful or to make someone happy-- that's much more worth it for everyone.
Deviant Art switching up everyone's avatars was a lot of fun. Circles of friends could look around and see who was turned into what for the whole day. The Twilight Teams avatars is what I loved most. Some users, including myself, saved lots of those gifs for later. I remember there was even a Team Lady Gaga floating around in some places. A LOT of work was put into that Twilight prank. :3
my reason for hating April fools is that being Australian means its April 2nd for me when seemingly most of the internet starts to do it, like it still has the chance to be good i just dont like the ones when they trick people
I'm autistic and I love April Fool's because it'd so easy to look at the date and switch my brain from expecting the truth to expecting a prank. It gives me a day where I can be in on the joke. I also love when April Fool's is used as an excuse to just be weird and different, like with r/place. In general, if people participate with good nature, it's really fun.
it sucks dealing with internet april fools when you're living in an early timezone before everyone else in the world. you'll get one or two jokes here or there, then when April 2nd arrives everyone else in the world has caught up and you're left sifting through piles of Jokes mixed in with actual news and information which is exhausting, and really dulls the fun creative pranks
i dont mind april fool jokes that are incredibly harmless or overt- like just messing about without tricking or misleading people. themed accounts changing their names to literal meanings or entirely different themes. the collab works for just some goofs are also great. but yeah theres definitely something in people should actually read things and think criticaly
I love when April Fools day is an excuse to be weird and silly, but obviously fake. Last year's April Fools Day on youtube had some of my favourite pranks, with Dom Nobel doing an imaginary (and hilarious) Lost in Adaptation of the Room, with clever inside jokes to those who know about the production. Then Linkara posted a 100% serious Analogue Horror film called Winter of '83, catching everybody completely off guard! Plus the World of Warcraft April Fools patch notes are always hilarious. I think the phrase "Confuse, don't abuse" sums up the holiday nicely. Be silly, be weird, be funny, but don't do anything that can cause real-world harm.
Interestingly, Sega made an entirely brand new Sonic game just for April Fool's this year. It's a visual novel type game for free on Steam right now called "The Murder of Sonic The Hedgehog". It's actually decently long & very well made, ironically being one of the best Sonic spin-offs in the last decade I'd say.
honestly I am autistic and I love aprils fools, and I think it is partially because I am so guillable. I have definitely had the same feeling where I got super excited about a new trailer or a thing happening... then it turned out I was tricked. But it reminds me to not take myself too seriously and then look back at whatever I fell for and see everything I missed. also googly eyes and comic sans is the peak of internet humour, I love it.
Some msy find it disorienting and of bad taste but I just love those "huh???" Moments when I open discord and an entire server is in chinese now and I have a fake ping or when I open a game and the menu sounds are replaced with "hehehe" or when I click in a video and end up confused by the fact it's an actual video and not an april fools upload
13:31 Using Stańczyk to illustrate the problems caused by incessant light-heartedness hit deep. PS: For those not in the know, Stańczyk was a court jester, and this painting of him depicts him mourning the decisive defeats his country suffered as the court indulges in pleasures, uncaring of the gravity of situation.
April Fools day is both my favorite, and least favorite day on TH-cam. Least favorite because most of the videos in my subscriptions aren't worth watching because lol itsajoke. But then you get those special channels that take the day an opportunity to do something out of left field, but in a familiar way. Like FalseSwipeGaming talking about the "competitive history" of various joke Pokémon like Delibird, or Big Yellow, a channel mainly about competitive fighting games, deciding to talk about Insaniquarium because he likes the game.
I remember the False Swipe Gaming episode on Ledian being especially good because the B-roll footage in the background was a constant stream of Ledian on-shotting Legendary Pokémon in the background, which was pretty much impossible without tons of setup. Essentially, every single one of those 5-15 second clips probably required at around 5 minutes of setup, if not longer. With as many as they stuffed into that video, that adds up real quickly. Not to mention they probably had to EV train certain Pokémon ahead of time to make sure that even the boosted hits KO’d.
I honestly believe that if you make an april fools video, about a day or two after, you should clearly label it as april fools, because it's annoying finding stuff months later that ends up being april fools
The funniest April Fools Day prank of the internet has to be Cookie Clicker. Not because of any particular comedic value, but because of how the in-game seasons mechanics work, there's now just an in-game season that pretty much solely exists to do... nothing at all. Because changing it to be beneficial like every other season is would defeat the purpose of it being a prank. It's also, evidently, a NIGHTMARE for translators and modders, because it also changes a significant part of the game text. In short: the joke is exponentially more and more on the player the more technical they get, from minmaxxing to modding.
i didn't realise that the Business Day season was for April Fool's Day. i just assumed it was an American-only holiday like labour day. the Startrade heavenly upgrade apparently does make golden cookies drop 5% more often
Fun fact: every year minecraft has done an April fools update, some examples include: adding ar headsets and other scifi stuff, making the villagers takeover the game, creating infinite dimensions, a parody of micro transactions back in 2010 (I believe it was 2010), and a parody of old shareware
My favorite April Fools Joke was for the Yakuza series. They uploaded a video saying that their next game would be a turn based RPG as a joke, but it turns out that people were really down for that idea. So, in response, the entire god damn series transitioned into a turn based RPG.
My best April Fools Day prank happened a few years ago when I was a student. I set up a fake Gmail account and convinced a few of my friends they’d signed up to a subscription service to receive “exclusive images” of TV host Dale Winton in their inbox every day, for £8.99 a month (the “price of his shopping list”). They ratted me out fairly quickly. How we laughed, until Winton sadly died two weeks later. The two events are unrelated. RIP you bouncy bonus legend ❤
While it was touched on in the video, my biggest problem with April Fools on the internet is that it is no longer condensed into just April 1st. The entire point of April Fools is that you aren't supposed to believe anything you're told on April 1st, and yet because of how algorithms work its not uncommon to be recommended the videos or articles days or months later, long after the joke's passed by. This year I only got one or two April Jokes articles in my recommended feed on the 1st, and yet every single one of them was a joke on the 3rd. Worse then that, I've often been recommended joke articles all the way in September or October. At that point it's no longer playing you for being naïve, it's just outright lying to you! And it's not like this is a problem that has to exist. Most of these websites have in-depth algorithms for detecting what content is in a piece of media and weather or not to recommend it for something. If TH-cam can smack a demonetization for saying "fuck" in a video, there's nothing stopping these sites from adding an "April Fools" tag that is automatically applied to content posted on the 1st, and then just blocking content with that tag on other days of the year. Make it an opt in function for those who aren't posting jokes if you have to. It would save so much headache.
Some of my favorite April fools day jokes are the ones were someone takes a completely ridiculous idea, and then just treats it as seriously as possible.
The autism part is real as fuck. I'm predictably bad at picking up social cues which includes understanding jokes, but more specifically it's that I don't understand something is a joke if it's in a context where I'm not expecting a joke. Like, if I'm hanging out with friends and someone does something to fuck with me, I know we're joking around and I'll get it immediately and it's fine. But if I'm at work and a customer tries to do some playful banter with me, well that's not part of The Script and so I don't know there's a joke being played and I take it seriously. It's not SO BAD on April Fools Day because as the "designated prank day" I try to assume everything is a lie on that day, but I'm also really bad at keeping track of what day it is and so if I haven't got around to looking at the calendar or if I've spaced out and forgotten the day, especially if the prank is particularly convincing like an announcement that's drastic but not out of form, then I'll probably believe it and it's really tiring to live like this.
When I was in college, I was writing a fanfiction that was basically a parody of those classic "Mac/PC" commercials, but with Pokémon and Digimon. One April Fool's Day, when Pokémon Black/White 2 had yet to be released, I dedicated one chapter to revealing a "plot synopsis" of the new games; I made it incredibly dark and gritty in a way that no Pokémon game had or would ever be before immediately revealing the joke. Between the comedic nature of the overall fanfic, the over-the-top dark tone of my synopsis, and the release date, I figured no one would take it too seriously. I got two comments that day telling me they thought it was real.
April Fool’s Day can be a day where you can’t really trust anything, but it can also be a good excuse for some people and companies to do something weird and ridiculous that will hopefully not cause any actual harm.
Anytime you see something newsworthy on March 31st-April 2nd, you just need to switch out your glasses for Skepticles. Afterwards, if there hasn't been a correction, then and only then, can you take it seriously. Thanks for the video, I didn't know about probably 80% of these April Fools Pranks!
What I find annoying living in Australia where it’s less of a cultural phenomenon I see all these online April fools jokes on April 2nd, so if the prank is saying something close to reality I genuinely get confused/excited for the next 20 seconds until I realise it’s April fools in the rest of the world
I have mixed feelings about April's Fools. There are pranks that I like (like having content with a clickbait title that reveal the punchline only when clicked, like the Rick Roll or that thing about reading), but I hate the pranks that misinform or make you genuinely believe in things that will never be real.
Honestly, there needs to be a browser extension for search engines, video hosts, news sites, etc. that marks any content posted on or around April Fools Day. (Ideally March 30th-April 2nd just to be on the safe side.) I don't mind it much on the holiday, but it's incredibly frustrating/annoying to stumble across it weeks or months later.
My favorite internet April fools joke was back in 2014 when Mojang, the developers of Minecraft, forced a resource pack into everyone's game that replaced all the game's sounds with a villager's voice that narrated everything, and all player skins were replaced with villagers. It was so funny going into servers that day and seeing everyone's reactions!
Some fun stuff a community I’m in and some friends prepared for April Fools was turning out Brawl Modding server into a complete chess server, renaming the channels and adding new roles that changed everything to be something like chess, including stuff like our character chat being about how chess pieces interact, it was very fun!
Whenever April Fools Day comes around, I always stay off of the internet and play some offline singleplayer games instead. Also, about r/place, it is true that the event in 2017 was just a fun event, but the 2022 event unintentionally became a prank when Reddit decided to wipe the canvas in the last hour, getting rid of days of everyone's hard work (probably because they found out streamers like XQC were using their audience to be toxic by targeting smaller factions to draw over tons of art). A year later, and a lot of people are still angry at Reddit for that decision.
My favourite April Fool's tradition is by a german TH-camr called LooksLikeLink. Every year, he "releases" new Merch. We had Action Figures, music albums (dude can't sing at all), NFTs, a video game and more. This year, he released his "first" ASMR video. I love how he does it, making those announcement funny to watch even years later
My favourite April Fools Day thing has to be Pokémon Showdown replacing all of the Pokemon spirtes with cursed stupidity, something that was so popular they made it a permanent option toggle
I really don't like April fools day I've always felt like pranks are just an excuse to be mean to others, then shame them for being upset A lot of the internet pranks are either just straight up lying and getting your hopes up (as mentioned in the video) or jumpscares. As an autistic person, I am easily fooled AND really sensitive to jumpscares. It doesn't help that those videos stick around forever too.. The only April fools videos I do accept are when people just take it as an excuse to make a really in depth video about something they're passionate about, but wouldn't fit their usual style of videos. Those are fun
Thank you for mentioning the autism thing. The day is always weird for me because of that, and it’s on the very short list of things I don’t like about being autistic
Dan Fornace got hit hard with this with his game Rivals of Aether. Every major announcement has happened on April 1st, and it makes it difficult for them to do April Fools jokes.
A bit of a mundane one, but I think my favorite online April Fool's internet moments were either the Box dimension from Club Penguin, and when Bulbapedia became Slowpedia.
I remember the BIGGEST prank that happened (at least in the UK) where Prince Willam and Kate Middleton were having a baby and some "reporters" from some channel tricked the main nurse into giving the gender of the baby only for them to tell her AFTER they filmed the announcement so they could get first dibs on the news. Ashamed of herself for being gullible, the nurse ACTUALLY killed herself. I don't think it was an April Fools prank, but it was still a big prank nonetheless. A prank that took someone's life. The U.K. is scary.
This year was a good April Fools for Adult Swim. It seemed like they were gonna air season 2 of Smiling Friends, only for them to air episodes from season 1 remade with puppets instead, only for them to air the first episode of season 2 immediately after.
I seen a video where they explained the reason they don’t like April fools is because they didn’t consent to be pranked. When you prank a friend you have an agreement that you’ll prank each other but on April fools anyone and everyone is willingly or not open to pranks. Which I thought was a good take. I go enjoy the silly one though like when TH-cam allowed Darude Sandstorm to be played on all videos or Razer announcing something silly.
My favorite thing about April 1st is going on TH-cam and scrolling through my sub feed to see what channels I follow that posted interesting and surprising content on that day
I hate April Fools Day on youtube cuz for the past few years, the youtubers I love watching and barely upload post joke videos. Without realizing the day, I've fallen for these pranks many times and the disappointment I get after realizing it's a joke hurts.
I myself have autism and on April fools I genuinely believed an article that said Henry cavill was going to be in doctor who, had a good half an hour calming down and it was only up until watching this video that I went back to check and my mood kind of dampened.
I have to share this little story that just happened right now involving the video. I was watching a late night marathon of your video essays in my studio/room, my dad came in to say good night. So I paused the video to say good night too, but I had the misfortune to pause at 18:27 Eddie, you have materfully pranked someone on the other side of the world without even trying, nor knowing. Mad respect for this video, already about a convenient topic.
That thing about the fake Zelda Movie trailer really hits the nail on the head with the problem with the April Fools jokes. Adult Swim really knows how to do it
Thank you so much for discussing how April 1st is a minefield for us Autists. The amount of mean-spirited and deceptive "pranks" make me feel so dumb, especially when I try and cross reference something to check it's validity.
The channel Geography now has great April fools day videos where they make up a wakey country that doesn't exist & it kinda sounds real for some of them but as it goes on you'll usually realise its a joke but damn are they funny.
I’m autistic (specifically Asperger’s syndrome) and I like an April 1st joke done well (also I hate the generic “I’m leaving TH-cam prank” and if you are, don’t do it near or on said day)
This is a while later but I love the April fools jokes of "content where you wouldn't expect it" like a Nintendo TH-cam channel talking about Playstation or a Football channel delving into ice hockey. Still providing content, and content that will still be good after April Fools Day. But still giving a small "what the heck" moment. It's like the comic swap, where you can appreciate it any time.
Back in 2012, some people managed to gain access to the roblox admin panels and caused chaos to the site. Since it was April Fools when it happened, most thought it was a joke until the site had to be shut down. It was kinda genius to do that on April 1st of all days because others would think it was just a prank. But now the date goes down in roblox history.
I remember when on the 1. of April 2021 the Webcomic "Swords" announced it was going to be adapted as a videogame, being "the world's first open world adventure MMO JRPG turn based dungeon crawler roguelike meelee dating simulator", with a crappily animated trailer and an absolutely stunning theme song. Cut to the 2nd of April 2022, when it was announced that, by popular demand, "Swords: Edge of Chaos" had entered developement!
I have a big issue with it that wasn't mentioned - I LIVE IN NEW ZEALAND! Almost every single joke for me isn't on my April 1st, but some are, and some are almost on April 3rd. It's 20x more confusing
The reason I hate it is when companies announce services and products that are genuinely what people want, then pulling the rug out from under us *cough* Valve, Half-Life, the number 3 *cough*
I really liked CD Projekt aprilis fools joke where they published video about how Roach was to good and they had to add bugs and how they are going to add option where you could talk to her. Then they actually made Roach quest.
Love the monkey island rep in this video! Ron announcing it on April Fools after his open hatred of it for a decade plus and then having to wait a WHOLE WEEKEND to know whether it was real or not will never be topped imo
Hey, you probably dont remember me but I went to comic-con on Sunday and saw you and just want to say thank you for making such good content (I had a staff and a green t-shirt)

The kinds of April Fools that I like are when game companies actually release something as a playable joke. For example with Sega, which were 8-bit Bayonetta, Big's Big Fishing Adventure 3: Trial, and recently, The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog.
Or minecrafts April fools

"How are you supposed to do parody when everything is already ridiculous?"

Honestly Its more shocking when a TH-camr makes a legit video for April fools day rather than prank .
I find April Fool's Day a bit tiresome, but I'm always impressed by the amount of work they put into the April Fool's versions of Minecraft.

i dont mind april fool jokes that are incredibly harmless or overt- like just messing about without tricking or misleading people. themed accounts changing their names to literal meanings or entirely different themes. the collab works for just some goofs are also great.
but yeah theres definitely something in people should actually read things and think criticaly

Using Stańczyk to illustrate the problems caused by incessant light-heartedness hit deep.
Not to mention they probably had to EV train certain Pokémon ahead of time to make sure that even the boosted hits KO’d.
when an april fool's joke is good, it's great, but when it's bad, it spirals out of control hella fast
True
You know it’s a good day when Eddache uploads

"Volkswagen in America" was founded in 1955
Volkswagen itself... Oh boy... as a German, I plead the Fifth.
11:13 Volkswagen OF AMERICA was founded in 1955, which is what the article claims
Probably one of the funniest things that come out of april fools is games actually making an effort and changing into a jokey mess.
What I find annoying living in Australia where it’s less of a cultural phenomenon I see all these online April fools jokes on April 2nd, so if the prank is saying something close to reality I genuinely get confused/excited for the next 20 seconds until I realise it’s April fools in the rest of the world
We need to screw with the rest of the world by doing April Fool's when they're still in March.
Man, Colin's Bear Animation is a blast from the past!
I fought in the Great War of r/place last year. I ended up uniting the TWEWY, Kid Icarus and Earthbound fandoms as one whole alliance. It was glorious

Props to Element Animation!
Good time to watch this!
My mother's birthday is April 1st so I inherited her disdain for the "holiday"
I really like that NPR April Fools. It exposes so many people who were fooled.
I really don't like April fools day
I've always felt like pranks are just an excuse to be mean to others, then shame them for being upset
A lot of the internet pranks are either just straight up lying and getting your hopes up (as mentioned in the video) or jumpscares.
There's this Dutch Sonic TH-camr I follow, Roger Van DerWeide, I look forward to his output on April's first
1:13 I hate how much that made me laugh
Thank you for mentioning the autism thing. The day is always weird for me because of that, and it’s on the very short list of things I don’t like about being autistic
I miss when April fool's was just harmless fun like hiding a charger or making somone think they had food on their shirt or something
Dan Fornace got hit hard with this with his game Rivals of Aether. Every major announcement has happened on April 1st, and it makes it difficult for them to do April Fools jokes.
Can’t for every TH-camr to talk about how they’re “quitting TH-cam” or releasing a video everyone wanted except it’s not that video tomorrow!

So I paused the video to say good night too, but I had the misfortune to pause at 18:27
Eddie, you have materfully pranked someone on the other side of the world without even trying, nor knowing. Mad respect for this video, already about a convenient topic.
That thing about the fake Zelda Movie trailer really hits the nail on the head with the problem with the April Fools jokes.
Adult Swim really knows how to do it
Oh hey it's Laura! She's great, good to see you two work together.
Great video in general btw!
Sega is launching a free Sonic murder mystery game for April Fools Day. Not even the day yet and they've won.

Thank you so much for discussing how April 1st is a minefield for us Autists. The amount of mean-spirited and deceptive "pranks" make me feel so dumb, especially when I try and cross reference something to check it's validity.
Maybe don't be stupid
The channel Geography now has great April fools day videos where they make up a wakey country that doesn't exist & it kinda sounds real for some of them but as it goes on you'll usually realise its a joke but damn are they funny.
So insanely cosmic, I started this video thinking "gosh, I wish Eddache was on Nebula so I could skip these ads, he's perfect for the service". YES!!!
It's been a year since this video came out and I finally remembered what made me feel like I heard of Laura's name before
I’m autistic (specifically Asperger’s syndrome) and I like an April 1st joke done well (also I hate the generic “I’m leaving TH-cam prank” and if you are, don’t do it near or on said day)
This is a while later but I love the April fools jokes of "content where you wouldn't expect it" like a Nintendo TH-cam channel talking about Playstation or a Football channel delving into ice hockey.
Laura Kate Dale told my favorite April fools prank about that lyric that Nintendo put in Smash Bros when Joker was added. Absolutely hilarious 😂
I have a big issue with it that wasn't mentioned - I LIVE IN NEW ZEALAND! Almost every single joke for me isn't on my April 1st, but some are, and some are almost on April 3rd. It's 20x more confusing
April fools on the internet is especially great for Australians and New Zealanders who are always one day in front of the rest of the world
The reason I hate it is when companies announce services and products that are genuinely what people want, then pulling the rug out from under us *cough* Valve, Half-Life, the number 3 *cough*

Congrats for being on Nebula! Time to go rewatch all your videos over there!
