The host did not mention about the novena of Saint Joseph but he did mention about the nun praying the novena. However, I do believe that it was the carpenter Saint Joseph who built the spiral staircase.

The carpenter’s name was Francois-Jean Rochas, an expert woodworker who came from France and arrived in Santa Fe around 1880. He may have even been commissioned to work on the chapel by Bishop Lamy, as were other French and Italian masons and carpenters.
Why did he only build one staircase like one? Why can’t you see his work all over the world? Why can’t you find that type of wood anywhere in the world? How is it holding up without nails, screws or glue?
@@Barrettcoronalight I heard, some of his work is found around Santa Fe, built some fine furniture etc... You don't want nails and screws in the wood, because wood moves a lot, shrinks ,expends with temperature and moister. In the long run, would would crack, fracture where nails were used.

Originally the stairs did not have railings.
Take the hand roll off!!! It wasn't built with a hand well to begin with.

It is known there are no screws or bolts on this staircase, pure wood everywhere. Handrailing was added by nuns after some years.
I'd like to think the carpenter was some smelly eccentric genius.
