    Im not sure if anyone else has posted this. But it's easier to separate the base of the side mirror from the housing by leaving the mirror screwed in the housing so you have more support when you're hitting it

      Libni Guerrero this saved my day. After 30 minutes of hammering with a screwdriver, I went to HD and purchased a 4” Hex Cap Screw, class 8.8, m8-1.25x100 then screwed it most of the way into the threads and hit it with a regular hammer several times. Using the longer screw was the only way I was able to separate the parts and it only took a min. Than you

    I just bought these mirror lights right before Christmas and had no way of how to make these lights be a plug and play type for in the summer time when I want to take the doors off. On the mirror separating aspect: put the connecting bolt back into the bottom about four clockwise turns leaving about 3/8” of the bolt away from tight. Then hold mirror extention arm, and use hammer to drive bolt down towards mirror housing, three good blows will separate the extention from the mirror housing. Time: 7 seconds

    I just saw these this month and was wondering if I could find a video of them, they look awesome. Did you wire both LEDs to the same toggle switch? Also, you had to cut the white/red wire for the indicators and splice the wire into it correct?

    • @adventuredex
      @adventuredex  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the comment bro! I already had my pod switch prewired so I ran the two positives from the LED mirrors connected them together and connected it to the switch. For the indicators, if you have a true splice clip you don't have to cut the wire, you can clip directly onto it and it makes the connection very easy! Hope that helps! Thanks for watching!

      Same here and it only took me 3 hours. Hardest part was removing and reinstalling the mirror as the screws were a bitch to get off the old housing and then back on the new housing. If I had used T-handles instead of a socket bit attachment it would’ve been a breeze, Dex made it look super easy with his though so it must’ve been a more low profile tool.

    I cannot seem to find the indicator light wire on the factory harness. I’ve searched using a tester with no luck. Perhaps the amperage isn’t high enough to power the mirror indicator light? What color is the stock oem indicator light power wire on either side of the vehicle? I’ve tested the indicator light right to the battery and it illuminates just fine

    Hey, Dax, I was enjoying this video, but I have a couple of issues with it. First, during the wiring phase you connected the ground wire to the frame and you already had you quick connects on the other two wires, but where did you connect those too? You went from the negative ground to soldering the other three wires and you lost me there. Also, while serpentining the wires to the other side, how would I connect those?

    6.5 hours to remove the mirror from the arm can be shortened to 10 seconds by using rather than a screw driver, a small deep well socket. One hit of the hammer and Houston we have separation!

    • @christopherdemmer4365
      @christopherdemmer4365 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jacqueline Balodis this idea didn’t work for me but instead wedged the socket into the threads. A longer mounting screw did work for me though.

    Hello, thanks a lot for your video, we followed it step by step to make it, but one of my side mirror sis missing one of the 3 little screws behind the mirror, I was wondering if you knew what kind of screw is it to buy one, thank you

    My question is where to hook up the switch if I have no accessory panel of switches!? I don’t understand how to do this as there is no instruction on how to connect the switch and where to run the power for that switch. This is a bit of a challenge for someone like me. I can run the wires to the turn signals no problems and the ground, but the Main Power for the switch and led lights is a bit confusing as there are NO INSTRUCTIONS how to do it!! Don’t understand why all the praise for a clear missing portion of the install on the opposite side!

    Would of love to see the full actual process from when you connected the negative forward // first time working on something like this and after seeing you skip half the steps (since you know what your doing ) lost me .. mine bring two switches
