Enjoyable video. Just watching styling videos isn't enough. This was a refreshing video on the basics that we at times forget about. I am just understanding my hair. Your video have me something to reflect on.
This makes me so happy to see. I was hoping to contribute an "educational" video that can sometimes be lacking. I just think this is a step most people don't question because it's not always apparent that they should. I was definitely suffering from that lol.
OH My Goodness You are a God Send!!!!! Thank YOU SOOOO much for sharing this!!!! I am 49 years old and I've been natural for about 10 month, it has been quite a journey but now i Know, with your help, some of the Major things I've been doing WRONG!!! Thank You again!! I pray God's continued blessing over your life!!
Thank you sooooo much for sharing. I'm still a newbie to the curly girl crew and find your videos to be extremely informative and very helpful for those of us who can't seen to figure this out. I know it's not rocket science, but it's nice to learn the basics. Thanks again!
This video is so helpful! I use to think I was limited to twist outs because I got no definition from products. Lo and behold it was the way I was applying the products. Thanks so much for the video!
Wow. Im actually excited to wash my hair now! lol. I usually like my hair, but I do have a constant dryness problem. I will def start using more conditioner and remember not to put oil on it after.
I know I'm late watching this video but it was really helpful!!!! I was starting to get really frustrated with my wash and goes. But thanks to you I know exactly why. I felt like my hair was really dry so I started putting on oil as my first step. So now I'll be taking your advice and doing my oil last. I'm so excited for wash day now!
Hi ! I just revisited this video yesterday before my wash day. You are so right. I've transitioned 30 months so I've returned to my natural hair states for not to long. I followed your advice and it worked.. I didn't get why my hair was dry. I wasn't putting enough products and wasn't taking time to rake or use my Denman brush. Today my hair was soft...Thank you.
really good video. These are the step by step details that natural curlies need to know. No one else is supplying this type of information. I have been transitioning for a little over a year and u answered all the questions I have been wanting to know.
I am going to try this on me and my daughter! She wants her natural hair to be curly so bad! This proves we have beautiful hair and that u don't have to be a certain color. I need work on natural hair and this is a big help because I am trying to learn to work with natural hair.
I swear I needed this video in my life. I've been a 2 year transitioner and always try things I see TH-camrs do because they don't really educate the What-to-do education video. Even though my hair has grown and my relaxed ends are almost gone, I feel like I have no type of routine! Thank You!! NewSubbie!
I really liked this video. After washing I apply a really good mist of cold aloe vera and distilled water (rewetting my sections), Cantu leave in and Curl Activating Cream, coconut oil, and apply Eco Styler gel using a paddle brush. Now I've done a few wash and go methods, but this one has been working so far. I hate rinsing with cold water so the cold aloe and water seals my hair and the paddle brush helps form my curls. You are so spot on about product application.
Thanks so much for the love. I was hoping that everything came across clearly. And thanks for sharing your regimen. I like the Cantu Curl Activating Cream :)
I love how more thorough you are compared to most curly girl videos out there 😊 Question: Once I apply all of my products how do I know how much oil is good enough? I've noticed this could ruin everything else that I might've just mastered? Also, would you consider, (if you haven't done so already) doing a step by step product application video, with you actually applying each product? I would also love a video on how you styled your hair into this slick ponytail. The ones I've come across aren't it, lol. But maybe I have searched hard enough. Thanks for sharing! & Thanks for your response in advance 😊
As far as oils i put enough to scrunch on the ends since its the oldest part of the hair... I would assume it depends on your porosity i have normal/low porosity
Thanks for the video. I believe in starting with the basics and it doesn't matter what style I pick if my hair is dry, it won't look cute. I was a little confused as to the order to layer the products, especially since I have low porosity hair. I don't like to put a lot of products in my hair since it's fine and get weighed down easily. Great job, keep doing more videos like this. And a makeup tutorial because that face is BEAT👏👏
I agree with everything you said!!! When people ask me about my curl definition I always give them an explanation similar to the one you just gave in this video :)
Also porosity plays a role in my hair routine. I have high porosity hair, so I can pile the product on. Using the As I Am product line. I don't use oil, it's already in there products. Great video and I subscribed!
Please keep up the good work i am starting an inspire channel in a few months and i would love to have you on because you inspire us not to give up there are hope for these curls
Thank you so much for this video. I was looking to do something different to do with my hair other than braid it up and put it under a hat or wear a puff on top of head. I've been wanting to do a wash and go and have been really wanting to know how to define my curls but I didn't know how to do it properly. This at least gives me a starting point. I really appreciate it. 😊
Thanks so much for this video. I have been natural for some years now . I just did my hair in the order you said. My hair came out bomb and a lot less shrinkage as well.
Great video! Please consider adding a typed note or list of the steps of the product steps maybe at the end of this video. I have watched this one twice to get your steps or order of application of products. I too like Shytina Love-Oates wondered about the oil on the end of product application. I realize the amount that works for you may not work for me but some guidance is always helpful. I have read and seen on other videos where oil is encouraged to be applied from root to end and vice versa. Do you apply the oil to your roots also. Thanks in advance. I will search for more of your previous videos as well.
You really inspire me plz do more vids like this bc you really helped me figure out how to make sure I have enough product in my hair I used to think that my hair has to be dripping wet and white b4 it dries to see if I have enough product which was always a hassle so thank you very much 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Thanks so much for posting this vid! I recently started wearing my natural all the time and I was annoyed when my curl definition went away as my hair dried. I just tried your steps with the carols daughter leave in, Miss Jesse's Multicultural curls, and the den man brush and it worked awesome!! Unfortunately I couldn't find the exact products but this is awesome going to add the Shea moisture soufflé gel to the mix next time. Thanks so much for sharing and I will look out more vids.. You are the best!!!
Thank you sssooo much for posting this video. I'll be coming up on my second year being natural. And I still struggle with my wash n go's. I had no idea what I was doing wrong. And was putting oil on after the leave-in. This definitely helped me out alot. I love your channel.
+Ebony's Curly TV, Thank you so much! 😇 Yes, I did find your video to be very educational. I have been natural for 3 years now and I never knew how to correctly apply the hair products...and, yes, I was putting the oils in my hair first after washing it, to seal in moisture after which I'd apply leave in conditioners, ect. Disaster!
I know textures differ, but I certainly can't get away with a "dime size" or "quarter size" amount of any product on my thick hair. Funny you mentioned that. Good video.💮
omg this was soooo helpful!! I always put on oil first and my hair ends up looking a mess or I have white residue everywhere! I thought it was the type of leave in... Thank you!!!
Hey!Very informative video. You said the order of application is; Leave-in conditioner, Moisturiser then Gels...When does the oil come in,before or after the gel? Thanks
Thank you Sis. This was a very helpful video. I would've Loved to have your channel back when I went natural back in 2010. You're Gorgeous, especially, without make-up; beautiful hair & skin. Keep on sharing your experience, we're blessed to know them.
thank you! i have been natural all my life but never felt like i could pull off a "curly look". now i know why, i didn't know how. this video was so helpful!
Hi. New subbie here. I have a question. Are crochet styles a good protective style for naturals? I have been natural (no heat either) for 2 years but am just trying to figure things out as far as what works for my hair and how to help it grow and flourish.
Amen!🙌 just what I needed I struggle to have, keep definition and have my curls to clump together I have tight to loose natural hair and that's why I don't wear my hair out of twist or wash&go because I'm afraid it will frizz up, tangle up, and I will lose length but I want to where a wash & go and twist out so bad I'm trying to see if I wait til my hair get longer and my curls get some weight to them they won't tangle in a wash & go, I apply my products in the way you talked about in the video leave- in first, hair milk or creme next, then coconut oil and that keeps my hair moisturized but doesn't help define my curls, Idk
First off I love your skin color. and you lip colors are bomb. I'm trying to get my hair long like yours! it's arm pit length in the front and a little longer in the back!
I'm guessing it may be because some people need the added moisture?? Also some creams act as a styler. I feel like some people could just do one or the other, as long as the first ingredient is water.
Excellent! Thank you times three! I just bought a product that I really love and want to last and based on your info I think I can use less. Also I never knew that you should use a styler cream to help with def. Can I use a curl serum as a styler and then a gel or no?
Thanks! And in my experience, serums don't usually provide much hold but if you find one, there's no harm in trying :) And yea, styler creams can sometimes provide pretty good hold. Eden Body Works Curl Defining Cream is one of my faves. I don't use any gel with that one.
what is your hair porosity and can you do a video about it (products and routine) and I was wondering would you ever do a trendy style like a shaved side, undercut or wild color?
This was very helpful ty♥ and yes my hair can be really frizzy as well but i am going to try These tips out! And you looked gorgeous on that Video this lipstick Looks perfect with your Skin colour ´woow such a Beauty!
Usually someone with high porosity would start out with oil and then cream liquid oil cream (LOC) where as my hair is liquid cream oil (LCO) like you.. Great video... I realize through trail and error you just have to try things
Women with Motives I have high porosity and I use liquid (water), a thick butter cream, then an oil sometimes..avocado oil has been one of the absolute best and coconut oil has become less advisable for my hair and scalp...I can't wait till my hair is touching my back again...😔🙏🏽
Kristina Lopez I'm similar! I use a leave in, penetrating oil (EVOO), cream moisturiser and Shea butter! Then I just spritz in the week! I have high porosity as well genetically so I need double sealing looooooooooooool
Thanks a bunch for these tips. A lot of common sense ideas. But as they say "common sense isn't so common". Nice to have that little "Oh Duh!" epiphany.

Just seeing this, but better late than never. Pretty pretty girl. Thanks 4 the detailed video.
Wow watched some of your other videos and you speak of product application. Was going to ask for a video! Perfect! Great video!
Thank you! And yes perfect timing! Love it when that happens.
Very helpful video thanks for sharing you tips.
Thank you so much for this video! I loved that you included clips so we could know what you're talking about.

Thank you so much! It was definitely where I went wrong for a looong time.

I know textures differ, but I certainly can't get away with a "dime size" or "quarter size" amount of any product on my thick hair. Funny you mentioned that. Good video.💮
Girl you hit these facts dead on, so True! I appreciate you being honest. Thanks 😚😚😚 keep the videos coming!!!
omg this was soooo helpful!!

Thanks
New subscriber. Thank you for posting this video. I had never thought of this and will keep these tips in mind when styling my hair on wash day

So helpful! I've learned so much from your videos, thank you! :)
And you're so pretty 😳 love your lipstick!
Thank you Ebony! You are #fire! You always solve my hair problems! God Bless you dear! I love to see you and your husband together!
thank you for this video it was very informative and I will definitely be taking your advice.
Saludos Ebony! Another informative video! Great job and lovely make up!
Thank you for taking the time to do this (very) informative video.
You have a new subbie.😊
Aw you favor keke Palmer! Thanks for the great tips!!
Very helpful video, going to try these tips ASAP lol
Thanks for this video very helpful and right on time for me. New subbie!!!
First off I love your skin color. and you lip colors are bomb. I'm trying to get my hair long like yours! it's arm pit length in the front and a little longer in the back!
Omggg shes really mi metas. Like i need my hair to get like herssss. Ella es muy bonita😍😍😍💓
Great video I'm heavy handed and always put too much product in my hair!
Thank you! And yea I used to be heavy handed with the gel. I can't believe I walked around with such stiff, clumped up curls lol.
Whats the purpose of a moisturizer if you're using a leave-in conditioner? Shouldn't the leave-in conditioner be moisturizing the hair? :/
I'm guessing it may be because some people need the added moisture?? Also some creams act as a styler. I feel like some people could just do one or the other, as long as the first ingredient is water.

My high porosity hair unfortunately needs both. Especially depending on what style I am doing.
love that lip color on you !
Excellent! Thank you times three! I just bought a product that I really love and want to last and based on your info I think I can use less. Also I never knew that you should use a styler cream to help with def. Can I use a curl serum as a styler and then a gel or no?

Girlll how did you with such a good curl pattern used to used relaxer on those beautifull curls????
When do you use the brush? After your last application? Or during all three applications?
what is your hair porosity and can you do a video about it (products and routine) and I was wondering would you ever do a trendy style like a shaved side, undercut or wild color?
Yes! It matters soooooo much!
This was so helpful, thank you!
Very informative video! Thanks
This was very helpful ty♥ and yes my hair can be really frizzy as well but i am going to try These tips out! And you looked gorgeous on that Video this lipstick Looks perfect with your Skin colour ´woow such a Beauty!
Thank you so much. Such a sweet comment :)
Can you start listing your makeup details? Whatever you're wearing in the video? Thanks.
I have high porosity as well genetically so I need double sealing looooooooooooool
thank you so much for this video and this channel
Love this video and I love your lipstick
Thank you so much!
Thanks ebony i as as well do the LCO method liquid/leave in cream oil the LOC method did not work at all
I cowash deep condition and oil rinse with argan oil and then do the Icb method and refresh every 3 days and it works for me
LCO all the way.....I switched to this method a few weeks ago. I need the brush....
Hello Ebony
Thanks for you videos just wondering what you think about rice water for your hair
Sorry I auve a question. Does this also applies to 4c hair ?
please do a look on this hairstyle.😍.. is it in a bun in the back?
Sure! And it's just a single braid in the back :)
Thanks a bunch for these tips. A lot of common sense ideas. But as they say "common sense isn't so common". Nice to have that little "Oh Duh!" epiphany.
Thank you! Very helpful!
Ok so I use to do oil rinses after shampoo and it seemed to really help. . . but I guess it depends on what you're aiming to achieve? I learned it from Whitney (natural 85) But I understand the purpose of not creating a barrier. . . but doesn't it really matter what kind of oil? Like castor would create the barrier but like almond or jojoba is a penetrable?
Very nice video!
Thank you!
so I was definitely thinking to put the oil on first just to reassure the moisture would be poppin lol... it makes sense to use it lastly though lol
Love the video! New subbie here. Btw please give me the dets on that lipstick cuz it is ROCKING lol
Thanks so much! I was wearing ColourPop LAX and Avenue with Bitchette liner.
Thank you for the knowledge
super informative thanks so much ! :)
I usually do twist outs. I am a virgin at wash & go's. I literally did my 1st one last week! :) Ok results, but need more practice. Do you put oil on after it dries?
Yes! And keep trying with the wash and go's. They take a lil time to perfect :)
Ok thanks! :)
what product do u use for leave inand creams or butters and oils
Great video!!!!!!
I was always wondering why my hair was so frizzy😂😂 Thank you😁
When is the oil added? After the gel?
Maybe I missed it but what products do you use? Also, what's the name of the brush you use, cause I couldn't catch the name?
She said "demi brush" I saw this brush being used in other videos; Sally and Amazon has it and it's a small hand-sized brush (some a little bigger) and it's used for detangling and it doesn't pull your hair out from what I have seen!!
Marina Fabro Denman
Denman brush
Thanks ........Alaska helpful😊
